Decorah Eagles~N2B-Mom's Incessant Calls and Cries_4.19.18

This video shows how Mom coped last evening. She spent approximately one hour making vocals on & off. This footage is edited to highlight her hour long incessant cries into a 20 minute video. The vocals are varied. Sometimes the vocals are urgent and at other times very soft. Some seem desperate and some even mournful. Her voice seems very tired and weak near the end of the video, but then she seems to go into alert vocals.I heard chatter(via chat thread) that there was possibly an adult eagle who landed in the nest tree, so some of these vocals could have been due to an intruder eagle. I personally believe that some of them are calls to Dad. Mom is quite capable of raising the eaglets, hunting and catching prey, but it is very difficult to do it alone.

As of the time of this video production, Dad has reportedly been seen nearby. He has stayed away before. Why would he do that? No one can answer that for certain. It is migration season and there are a lot of birds and eagles passing through the area. Per RRP, Dad has been known to disappear for up to two days.
