You can be placed in corporate as well as in Smelters or Mines, but you won't have to operate on field, most probably

Instrumentation engineers are typically made to work on PLC circuits, digital projects, plant improvement and maintenence work like working on PITs, PICs, TICs, etc. They also work on improving and controlling digital automation and monitoring projects and improving DCS Panels which is the heart of Plant Operations.
Indoor Spors facilities are available in townships. There are badminton courts🏸 and cricket grounds. Specific locations even have leagues of cricket and football.

I just got selected as PGET in Environmental Engineering from Campus Recruitment at IIT dhanbad.
I request u to Just answer my few questions :
1. What will be my inhand salary (approx) if the fixed part is 7.5 LPA (excluding variable)
2. Does the role of Environmental Engg includes going to underground mines also? If so then how frequently?
I haven't recieved an offer letter yet, thats why I am not clear about the salary part.
You might end up with about 50-55k in hand (excluding bonus). Also, PGET might be required to go underground and the frequency is completely subjective

Vedanta generally hires on campus, if you have to look for off campus opportunities, you have to keep looking on their careers section openings and apply there as soon as they release one

Test before joining. Vedanta will itself ask you to get the tests done and submit the Test reports, before you join in.
