Awesome video presentation . I will be able to tour the Horween facility in May as part of the Allen Edmonds Enthusiastic’s PATP and quite frankly I am so stoked ! You do an excellent job of promoting both the Horween and the Ashland product ! Again another great video ! Great Job thank you !
Yeah, this is just amazing stuff for all us leather nerds and leather goods workers! Good stuff. I've been using a lot of W&C Veg tans and Sedgwick's waxy English Bridles for belts, but I'm grabbing some CXL to use also. Just need to figure out the measuring to account for CXL stretch. I'm thinking about an inch of stretch, depending on the belt length I'm making!
Hey Phil! Thanks for all the great content y'all put out. Couple of quick questions for ya, 1. Would you recommend making small leather goods like wallets out of Derby? 2. What are your thoughts on mixing leathers, such as using both CXL and Dublin on the same wallet i.e outer/inner shell or two-tone options. Thanks!

Love the use of Bard… I used chatGPT the other day to get a bunch of gangster names and some ideas for wallets. Actually, emailed it in to Matt last week. This AI is amazing and it was cool to see you use it!
I really enjoy content like this so I can learn more about Horween and how they make their products. Super interesting, thanks Phil!
Saphir makes a brown and dark brown oiled leather polish for oiled leather Chromexcel. I wish there was a Color 8 burgandy. I am using neutral.

Derby is nice. Sometimes it can be a bit too soft/raggy for wallets. I think mixing CXL and Dublin is A-Ok!
@@AshlandLeather thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it!
What's more towards reddish, Color 4 or Color 8?
Color 4 is more red
Which engineers are those please?
Viberg
BFM # 2... haha,, glad they have a sense of humor at Horween... ' Big Fucking Machine' no doubt lol
