- Diana HATED Windows 8 when she first tried it. Back then she had trouble simply locating saved text documents, but now, she's back and ready to attack! Will she be able to burn this operating system onto a non-existant drive? (nice way of saying MURDER IT!!!) Or will it turn out to be indestructible? Find out by watching this episode of OSFirstTimer!

OSFirstTimer Advanced ditches the original 5 basic tasks and introduces a new random advanced task each episode. The task can involve literally anything from video editing to 3d modelling to programming and even attempting to destroy an operating system.

I remember when Windows 8 just came out, there were lots of videos about people showing how bad the UI is. And then I saw a video called "A mother struggles to use Windows 8 for the first time" which was your first video on this channel (and you eventually renamed to "Mum tries out Windows 8"). I actually subscribed a while later, but I've known about your channel since it only had that one video, and it's really nice to see someone initially not interested in computers at all learn a lot about them.

Little Tip for macOS Destruction: I think Ubuntu and macOS have 'rm -rf /' in common with each other...
Don't forget --no-preserve-root. Oh, and I think you may need sudo... if mac has that (I've never used a mac.)

I have mice in my office. What's ironic is that when I reached for my computer mouse, I got a real mouse instead. Then I see this video. I let my mouse friend on my desk, and eventually captured it in a fish tank.
Well technically she started on Windows 8 not Windows 8.1. So she's never tried out Windows 8.1.
Literally the only notable difference between 8 and 8.1 is the start button :P
It still loses its options when you open Mail.

I'm actually using Vista currently on my main PC, I'm going to have to upgrade it soon (Lubuntu is my main choice at the moment, may end up choosing something else)
I really like Lubuntu, so id recommend that to you, but if you have higher specs i recommend Kubuntu, because it has alot of widgets like Vista does.
I have sort of mid-range hardware. I don't know of my exact specs but I know I have 500GB hard drive space and 8GB of RAM. Does that sound high enough to run Kubuntu well?
Tordsworld I've gotten KDE to run on 2 GB of ram. You're ok, but I like Lubuntu best. It looks like XP and it's very lightweight.
Tordsworld my specs are 2TB HDD Western digital blue, 12GB ram, Intel core i7 and nvidia GTX 750. running windows 10. originally had windows 8.1. I dont really know if it would be able to run. I know am a computer geek lmao.

Very cute mice. I think if you hold ctrl while you click restart, you can boot into recovery mode, and type that command at the command prompt to delete all that without the "Access Denied" messages. That would break it harder.
If it was a UEFI VM, it should offer to boot recovery, and run system restore too. So I think your VM is either in legacy BIOS mode, or just skipped the full, regular Windows 8 install. I've never installed Windows 8 though, only fixed it, or taken it off.
she should've changed the drivers to incompatible ones I broke my laptop doing it but I ran recovery so everything's fine now

No offense but that sounds like what a kid would do. One time when I was 10 (I’m still 10), I downloaded this ‘thing’ from whatever website, I forgot. And then everything started going different colors, just like MEMZ but real and not fake (MEMZ is fake because it doesn’t do anything to harm your computer) and then soon did a blue screen of death. I looked it up on UA-cam how to fix it. None of the videos worked. So I fixed it my self by using some of my programming skill I’ve gained before and fixed it.

Check the previous video, also, MEMZ doesn't truely kill, it just overwrites the MBR, then does payloads to simulate the effects... If you manage to rewrite the Windows MBR after being MEMZ'd, then you'll find it works just fine, with MEMZ still where you ran it, as if nothing happened.
And Trance actually DOES kill your data which is why I urge anyone to use a VM. I would've caught the bug before Phil made this had I used a VM and not my ShiftOS dev env :P

@@OsFirstTimer If you are reading this, the quickest way to destroy your PC is to go to windows 7 setup, open notepad, go to X:, delete everything there that you can, And then go to C: and delete everything you can there aswell. And then thats one unbootable system coming up!
