    Update. Been on a few rides everything is still good. Havent had one single power steering issue since. May want to put some blue lock tight on the adjustment nut

    Drill and tap the cap and run a bolt to put pressure on that rack bushing.

    There’s bearings inside that housing.. just change them out. Makes a world of difference..

      Didn’t see any bearings and didn’t see any parts that Polaris even sold for it. What I have done has worked great. Still turns like Butter

    Could you stack a washer or two under the spring to increase the tension on that bushing?? The hole in the washer should allow grease to get through too.

      I’m sure there’s a few things u could do in a pinch but I have access to a spring I think will do the job when needed

      Mine are fucked up. If u make the rack Greasable I wouldn’t even worry about it . But there’s a little channel on the rack the boot rides in…. It’s a major PITA to get on there

    If you bottom out the spring tension, did you check the bearing? I found my bearing was completely gone on one side. Any idea on where to find a replacement bearing ? I can't find any.

    • @djnemesis82pluss1877
      @djnemesis82pluss1877  Рік тому

      I never even seen a bearing in it. I assume maybe there is one for that input shaft the steering wheel hooks onto but I haven’t had to mess with that part . Is that what your talking about ?

    There are 3 punch marks on the aluminum nut to lock it in place. Do I need to do anything before I take the nut off? I don’t want it to strip the threads. Thanks for your help.

  • @bubbasmith5142
    @bubbasmith5142 Рік тому

    Can u just remove the nut and put gear oil or grease in ?

    • @djnemesis82pluss1877
      @djnemesis82pluss1877  Рік тому

      I’m sure u could but probably won’t help much. U would have to pack it very full of grease and then hope the cap pushes it threw when u put it on.probably just make a mess. It’s not hard to drill and tap the cap
