    What a brilliant way to start the rug to keep it flat! Thank you so much for sharing. I would have never thought to start it that way. Can’t wait to try this method.

    What a wonderful easy way to make a tiny triangle. I learned to quilt last year and I made a crumb quilt out of the scraps from my quilts. I will surely make a little triangle. And a rug is a way to use up my batting scraps. I will give the rugs to the dog rescue here. They can send the dog home with its own rug

    God bless you. I have been scouring over tutorial videos on Jelly Roll rugs I attempted one this last week and was really puckered up and did not lay flat at all. Your down-home way of explaining things is wonderful and a breath of fresh air. You’re not selling any product or tool or leaving out tips so you can purchase the pattern. And putting in that centerpiece is genius I’m going to try it again you’ve given me new inspiration. Thank you again.

    Hi. I made one and it was very wavy. I took it apart and redid it after watching 7 You Tubes. I did every trick suggested. STILL WAVY. Ripped it up again and GLUED THAT SUCKER instead with fabric glue!!! Lol.

      Read that you will need a flat surface. In other words, you need a sewing table that meets the surface of the needle. You can use books, or anything that will raise the surrounding surface so the rug doesn't fall off that tiny sewing surface.

    I'm so glad this tutorial appeared in my feed today. I have lots of great scraps that would look great made into a rug. I plan to use an old (1950s) wool blanket for the batting. Lots of cutting to be done but I love the idea of using up old bits and pieces.

    Actually came here looking for a "no sew" rag rug but, enjoyed your tutorial so much l stayed to watch it anyway. Am looking to reuse the pile of rags that i just re-recycled from an old rag rug and that aren't good enough to sew. Will definitely be back to make one like yours though. 😁

    This is a great tutorial! This is a classic skill that the women in my family used to do with their scraps in generations past. My aunties and grandmas all had rugs like these in their kitchens and bathrooms. Thanks!

    Thanks so much for all the great tips. I went and bought 6 jelly rolls this last week. I bought my batting on Amazon. It was a lot cheaper there for a 50 yard roll than the store. Can’t wait to get started on my new rug. Thanks again ❤️

    You can use left over strips from different projects that look good together. Makes beautiful rugs.

    Use a dab of washable school gluestick on the fabric to hold the batting in place when butting up the ends.

      You pulled it too tight as you wrapped. Experiment with some small projects, heat pads. If the roll up, they are bowl cozies, flat, heat pads.

    Does the strip have to be on the bias..?.

    • @hollywaddell6727
      @hollywaddell6727 3 роки тому

      For this type of project, I would not use bias strips. However, I do not speak from experience of making a rug; just knowing how much bias strips tend to stretch during the folding and sewing, I think the curved portions would want to cup way more with bias strips than strips cut on-grain.
