Hello I am from Black Lake Saskatchewan Canada. I went there back on 2020. I was in Prague for the New Year and went to Budapest. Beautiful places I’ve ever been to!
Hey Justin. We went to Prague together before we started filming for the channel but plan to go back once we get chance. In our opinion Prague is nice but Krakow is even better (as it's similar except much cheaper). It's lovely to see we have reached Canada and we both thank you very much for watching and taking the time to comment. John & Becky x
Fantastic insight, the bar is certainly different! Well done all round both of you keep them coming!
Tumblrlover, Thanks so much for the lovely comment! We really loved that place too...so unique in it's own right. Thanks for watching and take care. John & Becky x
Good vlogs! Nice to see couples likes of you living the ghoood life together! Very inspiring! God bless
Thank you Sid. We try our best with the budget and time that we have
Love the video, very helpful - thanks guys! Heading there next month so found this very useful, cheers! 😊
We hope you have a great trip and glad it helped you. That makes it worth the while for us! Thanks for you comment. John & Becky x
Great video, very informative and full of tips ! I look forward to get to Budapeeest !! Thank you guys
Thanks David. Glad you enjoyed it! John & Becky x
What a great video, your personalities really shine through in this.
This is the best travel video I've seen for Budapest as it's genuine and very helpful, appreciate you both making this.
Looking forward to seeing the Hungry in Hungary video.
Hi Max. Thanks so much for your lovely comment...it really does mean a lot to us and helps us push on in a very big UA-cam world when you're in your infancy. We're just 2 mad Yorkshire people with no heirs or graces who love travel and trying to see the world as cheaply as we can but also help people as the first thing we do when we plan somewhere new is look on UA-cam for guides... especially with how much things cost! In fairness it's our 5th that we've done and we've tweaked this one a bit compared to the others to see what format works better, so we are really pleased you like it. They will get better in time! You look after yourself Max and safe travels, wherever it may be. John & Becky x
Thank you for staying with us and see you soon! Very best regards, Kalman Denes | Director of sales @ City Hotel Ring
Thank you for all the help we received from the great reception staff! John & Becky x
We are going this Christmas, we found this very useful thank you
We hope you have a great time David and we're glad it's of some help. Thanks very much for watching! John & Becky x
Great content and good format 👌🏽👌🏽 cheers to your vlogging journey 🤩
Thanks Siva
Thank you for the review I am going next weekend I was anxious cause I wouldn't know where to start when I got there lol but this was very helpful I'm so excited even more now 😄 xxx
It's a beautiful place Jessica and we are glad we've helped. Thanks for letting us know and have a great trip! John & Becky x
Very well done. We've been to Budapest many times and we couldn't have done a better guide of the basics than you, especially in 48 hours And while Budapest is (,mostly) affordable, real bargain travel can be had more far afield in the countryside, Eger, Tokaj among others. Safe travels and happy trails! I've liked and subscribed!
Thanks very much for your lovely words. It certainly was difficult trying to run round like crazy to capture what we could in basically a full day as well as filming the food vlog at the same time. This was our 4th destination out of 5 on the 13 night trip so we were pretty tired by this point which made it harder. We're really pleased you enjoyed it as that's our aim and glad you are staying with us for the ride. There's much more to come and we'll be starting filming again at the end of March. We keep people updated on our Facebook group so if you are on there then feel free to join. Thanks again! John & Becky x
Thank you for making this 😄
Thank you for watching it Robbie! John & Becky x
Going this week, that was handy - ta!
Glad it helped Steve. Have a great time!
Thanks for a great video. Researching because I want to visit in June for my birthday with my hubby so was good seeing a couple video. You have a new follower 👍🏾👍🏾
Thank you so much for your support Deborah, it means a lot to us. It certainly was stressful trying to run round trying to get the footage in a day... especially when we had never been before! Thanks again. John & Becky x
@@ParksTravelGuide finally here in Budapest and going over your videos. Thanks once again.
Due to the chaos at Heathrow with cancelled flights we lost almost 2 days of our holiday. A beautiful Country. Will definitely come back. We are staying in the 7th District the Jewish Quarter. Keep the videos coming👍🏾👏🏾
Aww Deborah, hope you have had a great time and that we've helped you a little with how much things are. We're currently in Marmaris in Turkey now having a few cold ones. We love to hear how much we have helped people and also hope your trip has been as fantastic as you imagined. With Yorkshire love, John & Becky x
I'm glad to see you loved my home's capital! Greets from Hungary! See you again there!
Such a beautiful city. We'll be back for sure! John & Becky x
Great video cheers
Thanks very much Kingfisher. Wishing you safe travels! John & Becky x
You guys are very cute. Couple goals haha! Great and informative video. Cheers guys 🙂
Hey Anuj. Aww thanks.... we're starting to get a bit more 'us' as we progress with the vlogs. Glad you liked it and it helped... that's what we did it for 🙂 John & Becky x
Really liking your videos. I am a digital nomad and contemplating Budapest or Malta for my next stop (probably 6 months), which did you prefer and would recommend. Cheers guys and keep the videos coming :)
Hey Gigio! Many thanks. This was one of our first ever vlogs back in 2021. They are like comparing apples with pears in all honesty. Budapest easily stole the show over Malta, both in food, beer and sights. It was also a lot easier to do on a budget than Malta was. Malta is nice in summer but one to avoid if your trip is in winter as it's pretty miserable weather wise. We've been many other places since then - if you visit our channel and find the playlist 'Watch from the beginning' you'll get a lot more inspiration. Thanks again Gigio and if there's any more info you need further down the line we'll try to help.
On my first visit i found Szechenyi bath just by a faulty walk in the park, i had no bath equipment with me. But we decided to come back next year with equipment. Takes some space but makes it great. Now we go there twice a year - next week again ;)
If Szechenyi is too overcrowded or rotten for you, try Gellert!
For me both are great and a good reasen to take the trip in the dark time of the year, get some heat in our bones!
Hey there! Fantastic tips and if we revisit in the future we definitely will. Thank you very much for watching 🙂
I love your faces after a sip of Palinka 😂
It certainly puts hairs on your chest Richard. We thought it would be a little like Soplica in Poland but how wrong we were! John & Becky x
Lovely video. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Did you make this trip post covid? Any additional tips if you did that?
Hi Suneela and thanks for your comment. All our vlogs so far were filmed between 5th November and the 17th November last year as part of our multi stop trip of 5 places in 13 nights...if you watch from our very first vlog you'll probably see how tired we start to look! Haha! We had slightly changing restrictions depending on the country we visited, Hungary only changed their entry requirements for no PCR test for UK citizens a few days before we travelled which saved a cost and was a relief as we only had 2 nights in Munich before flying into Budapest. The only place we were asked for proof of vaccination was the thermal baths and masks were required in shops, public transport and hotels but not in bars and restaurants that we found. Thank you so much for watching, commenting and supporting us. As a really small channel 'trying to make it' it means a lot to us that you've watched what we made as it took days of editing to put it all together on our time off from work. We're also on Facebook and Instagram if you are on any of those as we keep everyone up to date on what's coming next and where we will be filming. If you think any of your friends would enjoy it then please help us out and give it a share! Thanks again Suneela and if you have any more questions then feel free to ask. With love, John & Becky x
Magyar love ❤️ from Canada 🇨🇦
Thank you ♥️🇨🇦
I hope you enjoyed Budapest. I was curious where you bought your tickets for all the tours and such? I want to bring my folks to visit Budapest. I have not been there in a while but I always try to make it back.
Hey Leslie. Get your guide is usually our main website due to the variety and low prices, plus their customer service is good if you have any issues. We found that it is cheaper to buy your tickets at the Thermal baths if you don't mind standing in line, but in honesty you have to queue to collect your ticket anyway. Hope you have a blast! John & Becky x
Hey.. amazing video.. exactly the kind of information we looking for.. we have 48hr trip to Budapest coming up next week.. apologies we will copy your itinerary except the thermal baths.. thanks again..I had small question, while entering Budapest was there any PCR requirement? It could be nice to share your experience on it as well.. cheers. 😀
Hey Ashkay! Many thanks for your lovely feedback...words like yours are what encourage us to continue. In regards to your PCR question it had only just been lifted for a requirement for UK citizens so we didn't need one which was great news as we were filming in Munich before we arrived in Bud . We can only suggest that you look at the Hungarian governments website for the latest info as things can change overnight. We're really glad you enjoyed the vlog and hope you may take a look at our others. If you think of anything else then we'll do our best to help. Safe journey Ashkay and enjoy Budapest. John & Becky x
Hello there. I enjoyed learning about Budapest from your very "down to earth vlog' Thank you for making it easy to understand. Can you tell me if vegetarian and vegan food was easily available? Thanks :)
Hi Bibi. Many thanks for your kind words, this vlog took us the most time out of any we have made. I'm not too sure about vegan but vegetarian dishes were pretty common throughout the city so you shouldn't have a problem. Thanks so much again! John & Becky x
Yes, they are.🙋🏻♀️🇭🇺
If the 72-hour travel card cannot be used on the 100E, does that mean that it can be used for the 200E including the metro ride to the city centre?
Hi Mark. You'll have to forgive us on this one as it was November 2021 when we filmed this vlog so our memories are a bit rusty. As far as we remember the travel card is valid for the 200E and the train as that's how we got into the city. We did a quick Google search and our memory seems to match what an online blog says too. Personally we wouldn't use the 100E on a future trip as they cram you in like sardines on a bendy bus and it wasn't comfortable, but apart from a taxi it's the easiest option.
Great! When this video was filmed?
Hi Franco! This particular vlog was filmed in the middle of November last year as part of our 5 cities in 13 nights Europe trip. Hope it helps!
Can we use credit card to buy food, train or bus tickets?
Hi Tan. We used our Revolut travel card to pay for a lot of things including food (in larger restaurants and supermarkets), however the bus was cash only so we made sure we had cash on us as sometimes the card machines didn't work. I can't honestly remember about the train. Things may have changed since this vlog as our visit was approximately 14 months ago.
Can you just pay Szchenyi baths on arrival?
Hi there. Yes you can and it's cheaper than using 3rd party booking websites. John & Becky x
Hi can you pay for the travel card by debit card
Hey Milly. Yes I believe you can, unless anything has changed since it was filmed in November
Hi guys..Can you please tell me..what are excluded in 72 hr unlimited travel card.
Hey there! It's about 16 months since this video so we can't really remember. We think it is the airport bus only but if you look online at the official website (or those companies selling it) you should find the up to date information incase anything has changed.
@@ParksTravelGuide Thank you for the information dear👍
@@yo_creative18 No problem. We would rather be honest with you as things could have changed since then. We hate giving out wrong information. Have a good trip when you go 🙂
@@ParksTravelGuide Thank you and I really appreciate your honesty..😊👍
12:42 😂😂😂😂😂
Wow Mick, this is an old one we'd forgotten about! Glad you got a laugh 🙂
Was the water warm?
The water was warm yes, but the part where you wash your feet before the pool was cold. Thanks so much for your comment. John & Becky x
Are the clubs open?
Hey Julia. We didn't go to any as we were exhausted after each busy day but there is plenty of nightlife as things seem to be normal so I would say so.
You should have taken the baths to. It's such a shame to visit Budapest and skip the baths 😊
Paws Travel...Hey! Thanks for your comment. We did do the Szechenyi Baths which is featured in the vlog, unless you mean a different one?
@@ParksTravelGuide no,no, that one!
Who goes to a bath without a towell ?!
We thought they were provided with the entry cost like our spa's in the UK. A big whoops!
Do you know other thermal baths?
There are other thermal baths but these are the biggest and most popular. I hope the others are a lot cleaner!
Thank you. We always want to go to Budapest but we are a little bit afraid of all the rules and restrictions. We are in the USA.
@@malena777 it's a beautiful place. I'm not sure what's required entry/exit wise for your citizenship, but for the UK it was a breeze 🙂
Thanks Edina. We might try that one next time!
Would love to see you visit places like Afghanistan/Iraq/Syria a whole different world :) (ancient cities)
It's something we'd love to see Sid, although things will have to settle down a little more beforehand. You never know where we will pop up in the future though!
why do you call it budapeSHt ?
Hey Hampis. That's it's correct pronunciation. We've been saying it wrong for years!
@@ParksTravelGuide you mean correct by Hungarians ?
@@hampisdrums That's right. Us English have a way of pronouncing as we see (probably the same as anyone else). The same applied for some Polish cities, namely Krakow (Krakov) and Wroclaw (Vrotswaf). We try and do a double check if we're unsure.
As hungarian: yes, Pesht is the right pronounciation. If a word has S inside, sound like sh. If its SZ (s and z together, in this order), it becomes like engish s pronounce :)
@@Firynn Thank you looking forward to visiting your city ! Greetings from Athens
Unfortunately mostly interested in taking selfies here, sorry....
Maybe stop watching the videos 🤔 it was full of information and all the sites to see just like all their videos
Hi Bo. We can only presume you are still curious about our vlogs and thank you for watching and taking the time to comment again. Unlike the one you first commented on, saying more or less the same 'inspirational' words, this has more voice overs so you don't have to stare into my beautiful brown eyes for as long....but I'm sure you will have picked up on that already. Selfies really aren't our thing believe me as we are hardly your typical Instagram couple in our Primark clothes and no makeup, however a more personal approach is. If you want a documentary then it's probably best you watch others vlogs who offer what you're looking for. The '24hr Grass Growing Loop' vlog may be more up your street. We'll take your opinion onboard though, Bo, as we do with anyone elses. Luckily you are in a minority and whilst we can't please everyone, we know some won't like it. That's just the way it is. It doesn't bother us in the slightest as differing opinions are what make the world go round. In simple terms...if you don't like what we do then don't watch it. We can't say fairer than that. All our love, Bo. John & Becky x
@@ParksTravelGuide Thanks for a long answer, maybe just more interesting in the real place, than people filming themselves. We´re all different, you know, good luck fiming in the future!
@@Bo-tz4nw don't worry. Everyone is different and we're always open to feedback. We're always changing things to see what works. We try and capture the personal feel along with how things are there. When we film in March it's going to be a bit more of a 'story' of our journey rather than educational to see if that works better for us and simplicity in filming. Think Dale Phillip or Backpacker Ben and you won't be far off the mark. You may like that better, but then again if you're more into your walking tours (as I have seen you are) then you may not. Either way though, we're glad you've watched a few of our vids as it means a lot, even if they aren't exactly what you are looking for 👍🏻
Hi guys, thanks for the all information. A tip regarding Buda Hill is that since you had a 72h pass you could have stayed one more station (Széll Kálmán tér) and took the bus #16. In 10 min you’d be at Fisherman’s Bastion. If you stayed a bit longer, you’d be close to Buda Castle and without stairs!
Btw, I don’t know if you noticed but there are several times where the music was covering what you were saying so it missed a few parts.
Take care and stay fluffy! - Christian
