    Wow! First tutorial I've watched of anyone creating ocean waves. I liked it better without the crystals and might not have noticed the line in the white section if you hadn't mentioned it. Keep up the great work!

    You are by far my favorite teacher…. I have literally sanded back an entire project because it didn’t turn out as I wished!! Keep on trying and using each mistake a valuable lesson and continue to watch Tracey!!!

    Is the white a paste or pigment like the others? What’s the difference in the two blues and the white?

    Hi, having watched a number of tutorials on ocean waves in Resin, does the technique leave ridges at the end of each wave? I ask as i would like a flat finish and wondered how to do this without a mould to fill and flood coat, would a final pour over the top preserve the 3D effect and depth but also leave a flat surface or would it all fall off and leave the ridges?

    • @MichelleTraceyArt
      @MichelleTraceyArt  10 місяців тому

      I think you would need to apply several top coats to get a flat even surface. Usually the 3D effect is the charm!

    I have been working on doing the small shoreline wave for a year now!! I feel like a complete loser!! I just can’t seem to do it? When you put the white right on your epoxy line of clear, do you put it right on top, or a little on the front of it? The other thing, do you use low heat and a higher force? If I use higher force it just goes where I don’t want it…any course you do that someone could take?

    • @MichelleTraceyArt
      @MichelleTraceyArt  Рік тому +1

      Pour the white line right on top of the clear Resin. The White has to be thick or else it won’t hold its shape and you won’t get lacing. You may need to try a different brand of resin and white they are not all compatible together. Good luck!!

    i got a question... I dont have white pigment paste like what you used. what else can I use for the white? I have opaque white pigment, white alcohol ink and white mica powder. will any of these work?

    • @MichelleTraceyArt
      @MichelleTraceyArt  2 роки тому

      You can try the opaque white and the mica powder. I have found paste to work best. All the best. 🙂

      Try the opaque white and perhaps a couple of drops of white alcohol ink 👍🏼 good luck!! When that first wave works it’s a great feeling …

    You don’t have to wear a mask if you’re not using alcohol inks?

    My first time was a total flop, i think it's because i am using a mini board to make it, should i use a big one for better results?

      Its good to practise on a small scale first. Size shouldn’t matter. Keep at it ✨😊✨

    • @MichelleTraceyArt

      No. Liquid pigment only.

      White epoxy pigment paste like what Mermaid Trash or Armor Art makes is the best bet for making the waves and creating the lacing. Also, let your resin thicken up pretty good before pouring the edge of your next wave and adding the white. Then, blow it with the air gun, constantly moving it from side to side careful not to keep it in one spot too long.

    gun, the lace/cells are formed but get dissapear within 10-15 minutes. Could you please tell the possible reason. What am I doing wrong?

    • @MichelleTraceyArt
      @MichelleTraceyArt  2 роки тому +4

      I feel you. The white pigment may not be thick enough. After mixing the white let it sit in the cup to thicken prior to pouring. I hope this helps?

    It is really disappointing to see artists teach other people that resin is not toxic. IT IS. No matter what, you need to wear a respirator. Chemical companies aren't going to tell you the truth. Do your own research and don't believe them or the artists. You'll regret it if you do.

    • @MichelleTraceyArt
      @MichelleTraceyArt  2 роки тому +6

      Thank you for your concern, Raymond. The resin I use (Art Resin) has No VOC's and is safe to use without a mask when used as directed and in a well-ventilated room. Should I only have one window open, I will wear a mask. Thank you for your comment. I hope this helps clarify things.💙

    • @majagilmore5425

      It dorsnt matter. Don't trust the industry, that chemical things aren't toxic.

    • @the.resintist
      @the.resintist Рік тому

      Your incorrect. Most Epoxy resin are totally safe.non toxic. And contain no chemicals. Did you know epoxy once fully cured is just a type of plastic. Obviously not. IKEA sell tons of plastic products that are mold injected epoxy. They sell these products in millions some designed to use for foods . I recommend you do some research on Wikipedia you'll find some interesting facts rather than what you read on FB or what you believe for some reason. But no matter wearing a mask and using gloves should always be recommended because some people use poly resins which can be very harmful as a liquid or even a solid 😉👌
