      The melody only really emerges about five minutes in - up until then it's just hints of it.
      But you need to rechannel your melodic expectations with this: the melody is just as beautiful as, say, Perfect Day, or A Day In The Life, it's just enormously more subtle and stretched out.

    • @IIRemy
      @IIRemy 5 років тому

      @@thesprawl2361 I actually like the first 5 minutes more than I do the rest of the song, i only find it hard to process if i skip to points in it.
      >it's just enormously more subtle and stretched out.
      yeah, i agree. it's like, to fully appreciate it, you have to listen to it in its full context, its arc is only detectable if you invest yourself into it.

  • @8Photoman_

    I think of this song as just death. its just simple and easy. obviously there's the physical death, but this song comes to my mind when you're "thinking about nothing" and your body just sort of stops receiving commands. it's like a kind of felt response of solipsism, or just having any kind of human will extracted from you. This song to me represents the highest bad, which death isn't, but the living death is. that feeling where you can no longer move but are still conscious, I guess like being buried alive. To me it represents what's left in the wake of a hedonistic existence, which is a void of meaning. and I think the feeling of that void of meaning which this song represents is so widely applicable and shows up all over the place, that I always find myself back here. it's not dying or being dead, it's just a spiritual death, a lack of humanity where it should be. In layman's terms, this song has "thousand yard stare" energy. where its not that you are dead, but in your mind its like someone pulled the plug, and there's no power going to the system with which you can move around and do human things. I think I just said the same thing 8 times.
    Anyway, this song resonates on a crazy level, just has a transcendent feeling of dread to it.
