If you have a key cutting machine, almost all 1 depths on nearly every type of key will give just a slight cut on the surface of the key. If you mark all your keys with a 1 depth it will allow you to just have to worry about the depths instead of the spacing. I do this on every key I impression and it works great.
Looks like a Versa Guard tstat cover. Ive installed quite a number of these. Usually all keyed the same. I have a bunch of extra keys where I've put multiple boxes in the houses I service. I'll send you a few if you want, you've got nothing to loose by trying it and you'll gain time if it does work. Appreciate the video. Flirting with a pair of those cutters myself 😎😎😎😎
Nice visual decoding. That Lishi looks like it's perfect for someone like myself, who doesn't have a key cutter, and only cuts keys for challenge locks. Better than hand filing every cut.
What was the hardest thing for you when learning to be a locksmith. Would be cool to talk about your experiences as a apprentice locksmith or trainee locksmith. I think the hardest part for me would be trying to remember all the different types of key blanks and what they are for in the first year of locksmithing.

Like learning the technique, but that lock is one of the major keyed alike locks. Every single one of those is the same. I am an HVAC tech and I've had that key for years.
Hi what is the measurement or angle that the ceiling 14MC produces on the key blank? I’m working on making a key cutter tool for the lishi and working on kw1 and I’m confused on the angle and flat measurements. Do u know by any chance?
@@AquaTech225 thnx buddy i did find one on ebay but from china and arrived in 2weeks pretty fast for china... i looked local and came up short every time... this is a great tool ive made 5 sets of 2 master lock keys for the propane cages at work using the cutter and a rotary tool to get it perfectly matched.. im tryn to hand cut a ignition key now.. failed twice ..but its not as easy as normal keys .
Nice Job Jason. But these cheap locks aren’t worth the time. I bought what I believe was a lot of 10 with two keys each for like $15. Just to have on hand when these little jobs pop up.
Peter D'Ambra they seem to be only a handful of codes, I did try the one I cut before but it wasn’t it. So now I’ve already got two :) I’ve gotten pretty quick at doing this so really for the cost of two blanks and 2-3 minutes (using my code machine, I only used the Lishi for video reason) it’s actually more profit/less extra stock in doing it this way. Also these are pretty limited on codes anyway, I’ve added this one & the last one I did to my tryout keys ;)

Does anyone recognize what model is that key machine?
I always start with a CH751. It's far too common. Then a handful of test keys I have. Then I see about impressioning keys. Thanks Jason
eXCELLANT WORK with the Lishi,i cannot wait to use the one i ordered, good video as always!

Thinking the same
I am planning on using the Lishi cutter to make sets of depth and space keys. That's a poor mans code cutter. Lol
Very nice tutorial on how to make keys thanks for sharing Jason
Lishi Cutter, now that was educational
I just ordered a Lishi tool!
My first try will be the CH751. Most of them are coded the same.
Was about to say the same. Though I’m sure he knows that it’s more showing that it can be made by sight I guess
Hi Kim... Glad the Lishi is working out for you Jason.

yep, it is
but turning a precut key in a lock doesn’t really pull in the views or teach anything 😂
Really awesome video thanks for sharing.
That was awesome brother. I had one of those the only thing I didn't like about it was the way it warped the key a little when cutting it.
Bobby Keyz it’s definitely a left handed model...or something :)
Otoscope works good
