- The Megan Inner Tie Rods were one of my first "drift related" mods that I did to my FRS. I convinced my friend Javier to grab a pair, and we install them before the next drift event! I read a ton of negative reviews about these but the way they look designed and how little yet effective of an increase they make I gotta say budget wise definitely look like the best deal unless you're going pbm full kit
For the fender fitment at 8:40, Ive toyed with that for hours on a brz before, pretty much the easiest fix is just add another quick release on the front part right where it pops out.
Shoot I might have to pick some of these up for mine! Also thank you for putting the front bumper back on the FR-S it looks so much better!

Drift stitches is a legal aviation repair allowed by the FAA but with Safety wire instead of zip ties. Fun fact😂

God it’s been so long since I’ve seen stock angle. Going chop chop on my knuckles was the best thing I’ve done too the car, although, with how much was gained I might pick up a set of these for that extra juice when I’m tryna do hotboi shit
Justin Irish what knuckles are you running ? I'm dying here with stock angle. Ill be doing what the video showed soon but it still lacks angle to my past cars
John May stock knuckles, 1 inch cut out and welded from the stock tie rod point, slightly lower for the littliest bit of bumpsteer correction, same Ackerman as stock.
You could probably cut a touch more out, but being n/a, I don’t feel like I need anymore angle, I might touch lock if I’m trying to be a hotboi and look gangster lol. My setup works with stock tie rods, and no overcentering issues.
Although, I think I’m gonna grab some Megan inners just to have lol. If I get a little something extra, cool.
Oh, also, I removed the front sway bar. You could change the mounting to the flca, but I wasn’t that dedicated, might make flca’s, and honestly for the tracks I’ve driven and done it feels good without the front sway, so fuck it
Justin Irish this was a DIY job ? Is there a detailed thread you know of that I could read through and try this myself ? I'm over stock angle with this car, as you know we can hit full lock and barely be sideways .
John May yeah, this was a diy ordeal.
I don’t think there’s an 86 specific thread, but I’m sure there’s an s chassis one on zilvia or something. Same thing really.
It’s also very similar to the driftknuckles.com set up, which is also basically a modified knuckle, I dunno if they change anything else along with just moving the tie rod point or not.
I’m sure depending on your area there’s guys around that would mod your knuckle for cheap.
Ill have to see if anyone in Tampa will be able to do this . do you have any social media with oictures of the increased angle ? If its more tham the Megan rods it'll be worth it big tims

I know this video is super old and probably won’t reply. But could someone in the comments please tell me where the rubbing occurs at full lock with this set up?
It would occur on the inner frame rail if you’re tire is too wide
If my FR-S is being set up for grip, is there a reason why I shouldn't do this mod? It seems like it would basically just increase the quickness of the rack?
prerunnerwannabe wouldn’t change the quickness of the rack, just how much total steering angle you have.

Oh, really? I was just trying to think it out, and you're not adding more turns to make it go lock to lock, but it's adding steering angle, so I guess in my mind the only solution was that it would have to increase the steering ratio.... Honest question, what's the flaw in my thinking?
I believe the tie rod makes it sink in the rack more, increases the total spin of the wheel

How much camber did you run on the frs when you were stock angle. Front and rear.
Falken86 run as much as possible in the front. As little as possible in the rear.
Front bumper clip curse. Once you remove the front bumper like myself it'll never fit back on it's own. Faulty design 😑

AMBush Drift omg I forgot to ask the tire size so I don't rub like he is! I'm legit about to sell my 18x9.5 to get 17x9 next week to make clearance for more steering angle. You've convinced me to get those tie rods :) is Javier going to get spacers now to clear the rubbing?

they are the same size tie rod how can this change anything i didint get it
3:28 you can see the way this end piece is machined, the Megan has a square "face" or end piece (i guess, idk what is accurate) so when that piece gets pulled toward the rack it actually goes further IN than the regular piece above it that's just a cylindrical piece.
