- Look, I haven't always been the biggest fan of soprano ukuleles.. The past few years that I have had this channel I have been all about tenor and baritone ukuleles BUT after seeing and playing with this ukulele, I changed my mind! I like this soprano because of the cutaway and the thin body. It's perfect for carrying around the house or taking on a road trip. If you've been looking for a good ukulele to travel with, this might be it ;)

For me it recently shifted from concert to soprano.
Soprano!! So this one is going into my wishlist for my birthday (DECEMBER). And... I hope my family chip in for this beauty :)
I have the concert Nova (black) and it's my GO-TO! (I have four other awesome ukes, but when I have a moment when I want to squeeze in a quick song or two, I grab the Nova! The volume and sound quality is SO good! (I used a soprano when I was little; my Poppa bought one each for me and my 2 sisters -- I was the oldest and in First Grade and I loved it!) As an adult, the Concert is my perfect uke. (BUT I LOVE MY TENOR, TOO! HAHA!) Love them all!
New models of the concert come with a strap and a redesigned handle, too!
Just bought my second uke🤗 You convinced me I needed this one, although I chose the concert one. It'll be easier to transport than my Fender one. I want to start playing songs to my preschoolers.
I have the concert model. Even though I have a beautiful solid wood tenor, this Nova is the one I reach for all the time. It can be sitting out and available without worry. I put a low G string on it and it has great sound. Also, I can let my grandkids fiddle around with it without worrying about damage. The redesigned gig bag came with mine and it is very nice--love the addition of the back strap and the zipper seems better in response to the complaints about the initial bag. Recommended.
Which Low G did you install on the concert Nova U?
I may want to try that sound!
@@sup_413 Aquila has a nylon low G. Also I heard Enya has a Low G. They say that a metal bound string will tear-up the frets because they are plastic.
@@justchickenitout6509 correct on no wound string against a molded plastic fretboard. I don't want nylon - they soak up water, and I take my Novas paddleboarding frequently.
I need fluorocarbons for sure.

They're extremely durable and have good sound. I'm considering a second concert size for a low G - so you have a low G fluorocarbons brand you'd recommend?
Bernadette, I love that you do reviews on new ukes. I have the Enya Nova concert model and I love the ease of playing...as I am a beginner and I find it super comfortable especially when learning more difficult chords and chord changes. I see a soprano Nova in my future...😁 I was wondering if you will ever do uke tutorial on Matthew West's song Truth Be Told?
I've had my Enya Nova U in black for about a week now and I am very much loving it surprisingly , so much so I bought my 21 year old son one for Christmas! Hopefully now he'll stop stealing mine lol

I have the concert (red), and the sound is fantastic! They do not make a tenor, but Outdoor Ukulele does, in Bend, OR. That may be my first tenor uke!
Looks like an interesting instrument. Who knows? Maybe that'll be the one I buy to try this whole ukulele thing out. By the way, you kind of got me with that Beatles demo that seemed to start out as just mellow flowing chords.

Like the slimline design and the bridge style for ease of string change, and the gold tuners. Same foam and material as the concert? Side fret markers? I can see being waterproof as a plus~plus especially when you highlighted the fact it's great for ease of sanitation as well. Don't have an Enya yet, great seeing Enya providing important accessories. Your command hook strap DIY tutorial will be handy for those wishing add a stap button. Thanks for the review. I don't have the soprano, but the action is low & lovely on the concert Nova U.
Sounds like "Something" by The Beatles
The only thing I don't like is that the neck and the frets seem to be one piece. So the frets (black) are the same color as the neck ( black) I wish they were a different color. Tempted to loosen the strings and paint them white.

What ukulele do you like the most, the Enya Nova in concert size or the 25 D blue on concert size as well?

This would be great for backpacking - I have the concert size in red, and I take it out paddleboarding and snowshoeing frequently.
The other super agile and fully waterproof brand with great sound is Outdoor Ukulele, in Oregon.
Flight makes a travel soprano, but the sound board is laminate - if it falls off my board, it would be destroyed... but I hear that they are otherwise rugged.
The Enya Novas & Flight travels both have a curved back - the Flight travels look like Ovation acoustic guitars.
I wish i can have alot of ukulele's like her!
does the 26 inch Enya concert ukulele gig bag have a strap on it?
I got about a month ago a orange Enya Nova - concert size, and am now really fond of it. I am thinking to suggest one to my beginner student - but now I am really confused one thing: There seems to be Casha Carbon ukulele, too - and it looks just the same (in videos) to me. Is it only different name for the same istrument??? It looks like to me, that it is easier to get those in Europe than Enyas. Do you have any opinion of those?
It’s about 4-5 inches shorter than the concert. Smaller frets.

Emya has since released soprano in white and light blue, and the concert Nova U come in MANY colors z the black and pink are hanging on the wall behind her.

In the Netherlands they are sold as cascha ukuleles. Maybe cheaper to import to the uk?

Thank you for sharing this review and doing a sound sample! I just started playing Ukulele in March, a couple months ago. I got the Enya EUC-25D in blue, which I love! But got the craving to buy a tough travel ukulele that I could bring camping and kayaking without worrying it would get destroyed by dampness and fluctuating temperatures in my tent! I think I'll be getting this one as my "adventure uke" so my mahogany EUC can stay safe at home. :)

Thanks for the SPECS in the description 🙌Same thought, all about tenor then bari this music journey. The slimline design style of these Enya Nova's Mini's look best for travel. Being all one material and water proof is a bonus beyond measure. It's clear tone for it's mini shape has big volume too 😍🎸😍
Oh! By the way, I spoke and email to Enya and their concert sized ukes are also waterproof too.

I have an enya 25d, i wanted this for christmas and I'm not sure about the size. I already have a concerto so I wanted a soprano, but I'm worried about the sound and the fact that it doesn' have buttons. I don't knooowww. Anyway thanks for the review 🌻 greetings from Italy

It really depends on the airline. I would look online for the carry-on specifications and measure the ukulele. Most airlines are setting smaller and smaller standards for carry-on items, so check before you go!
Also check how many carry-on items are allowed. Some airlines will only allow 1.

Yes! I have small hands ans shirt fingers and it’s much easier to play than my concert.

Looks like it has a compensated saddle. That and the cutaway would probably make it impractical to switch the strings.
