Great video of where i live .I spent 2yrs living in my LWB Transporter had some great times doing that and found some great free spots to park up between my work place in Victoria and Perranporth my home . Best pastys for me are Aggie bakery or Marys pastys or even better make your own. You were so lucky to get a bludge spot by the garage

Thank you 🙏 for picking up some rubbish at perranporth in our beloved Kernow! Sadly many who visit don’t, and feel nothing when they discard their rubbish. I’m part of my local beach and coastal path clean up group. Sadly you wouldn’t believe just how much trash is just discarded during the summer. 😞

I miss my van. I did Cornwall, Devon Spain and Morocco for 15 yrs. Now motorbiking central and South America surfing the pacific. Miss the westward ho! boys charging the 8 ft swells. Bless

I live in Cornwall, vans parked everywhere they want to is a huge issue. We’ve had them parked down our lane in such a way nobody could get out of the lane, it happens every summer. With the the a30 closure until December Cornwall is going to be worse than ever this year. I wish there was a planned solution rather than just a flat no parking rule. So many fields sit empty and they could be utilised.
That’s a great idea…More ‘pop up’ farmers fields and council carparks allowing good value (sensible) overnight parking at the height of the season 🫶
It’s mad people still call sitting in endless traffic and queuing for everything a holiday. Cornwall is best avoided, this country is too overpopulated. If you want “vanlife” cross the channel.
Like campsites
And I thought van life is about every day life and not holidays...

My late Navy Vet yankee hubby & I, 2-Yr St Mawgan in early 70's. Lived off base in Newquay. Traveled shell keeps, did Brass rubbing. Saw Tintagle, Portsmouth, B&B London.

What you call a ridge back pastie is what I was always served up in London, I am 59 years old. When I went to Devon a couple of years ago, they were giving me flat pasties same shape as the Jamaican Patties.

I did the same trip in 1965 in a minivan with two air beds and a primes stove. Very interesting to see the changes. Just one criticism can you please do the pan and zoom shots more slowly it would make it easier to watch.

great video of wonderful Cornwall regards to parking up on davidstow it's never been allowed as it's commoners land but plenty still do, I think the police turn a blind eye as long as there's no hustle or raves going on and people take their rubbish away. I am often up there as I only live a few miles away I am just in the middle of doing my own van build ready to travel the uk. cheers mark

Public land belongs to us, the council do not own the deeds, so the policymen they pay have no business there, only a constable to keep the peace.

The UV-5 are technically a ham radio and requires licence, In some countries that is a BIG issue.
Buy any Licence free PMR radio instead to be sure not to get in legal trouble.

😂 It was a bit of a foodie Vlog wasn’t it 🤭 The motion sensor lights are solar powered & simply 3M stuck on the side of Nick & Jenny’s van. Surprisingly good & bright…They were from Amazon apparently 🙌
The portiloo is reserved for the use of motor homes using this carpark. There is a small charge.

Theres also another place in tintagel you can park up. Also, don’t know if it’s still there but if you take the coast path down by the side of the big hotel at the front there was a house right on the cliffs. It was reportedly owned at one point by Kate Winslett..

it was briefly owned by kate, went derelict sadly now knocked down , fenced off & owned by john mappin of the hotel, famous for knighting D Trump & a denier of most things.

The window grills are by Omit Van. They simply slot in and allow you to effectively shut your windows still, for security, whilst allowing airflow. Particularly good for ‘overnight’ sleeping and not getting condensation. The netting inside stops any bugs/midges getting in too so great for Scotland 🏴

Hi Andy can I ask did you stop off at the old air run way place in Cornwall? I went there a couple of years ago such a beautiful place. But what you said in your video true,? Because like to go there in July? Have amazing time at van life festival. Was going but I gave my tickets away because since my youngest whippet became I’ll at camp quirky she passed away in my arms on the 10th may. As I’ve been lost and down I didn’t feel like going to any festivals right now 😢💔 great video looks a lovely place to stay 😊

When I started in my van, they were rare and compact things - wild camping was easy and well tollerated. Now (amongst others) the 'caravan' brigade have moved on to vans from their caravans. They want the same space as they had in their caravans and the size has got ridiculous; often parked side on taken up 3 or even 4 parking spaces. Also the old rules of stay one night, no campsite behaviour (ie setting up tables, chairs, awninfs etc.) do not seem to be followed by many. Finally there was the pandemic when those who usually headed to the med sun went to go-outdoors and bought cheap camping stuff and abused the UK countryside and coastline. Now we have 'no overnight parking' signs everywhere.
Back to old rules please:
Park in one space, if your van doesn't fit in one space - get a campsite pitch.
Stay within the confines of your space - no awnings, windbreaks, tabels etc.
Stay for one night only and move on - don't abuse the hospitality of the locals.
Be considerate - no camping in passing places or trespassing.
No wildcamping if you don't have on board toilet and waste water.
Only overnight in places away from peoples homes.
Don't block the views of others.
Park away from other units - simplicity and solitude are a highlight of van life.
No generators.
Leave nothing but tyre marks.

A gentleman traveling I think from England traveling to the north of Scotland with his family. Parked in a no overnight parking facility. Police came and tried to charge him. He got a lawyer and it was proven you can park overnight anywhere in the uk as long as its a public highway and not obstructing.
Cornwall’s not all bad you know . I’m sure if you put it out there enough people would offer you facilities 😉🤞
