Hi me again ... That is one thing I learnt about Cornwall very quickly that you can one minute be driving down an A road and straight away pull off and be in in the narrowest lane with zero signal and how on earth do you pass ?!!! Keep promoting this beautiful county that I've called home for the past 15 years . Keep it real guys big respect 🙌
@@heatherheron6694 you pass on a wing and a prayer. There's usually a little layby or a field gate to pull into. Never try drive up the hill out of Herodsfoot. You literally have to put the car in first gear, say your prayers to the Almighty and put your foot down. Scary or what. I don't know what happens if someone comes the other way.
Hi are you a Cornwall person. I moved in Newquay when Boardmasters started. The thing on the stars sometimes it's the spacestation putting there waste into space
Hey mate. Your right by mine there at that Fistral spot. What do you do about keeping it cool enough for the dog when it’s left in the van on it’s lonesome? My pup is just about approaching 6 months, & I haven’t left him in the van yet. I’m always sketching out about it getting too hot in the van. Summers over now so it’s not guna be as bad, but what are some solutions yourself or anyone in the comments recommends for keeping it cooler? Cheers
Hello mate, Bleu is rarely left in the van coz he hangs out with us BUT in the event that he just can’t come too, he likes chillin’ on the bed under the MaxxAir Fan which is nice & chilly 🥶. We’ve got a camera too to check he’s ok 👌
@@OurVanTales sweet. Fenton has a couple little usb fans and a cool May whilst we’re on the move, but never left him in the van yet. I just haven’t been in the water hardly at all this summer as I don’t wanna leave him on his lonesome. It’ll start getting better as it gets cooler into Autumn & Winter. Cheers for that. Is that field where u met your mates open to stay or is it there own private spot? Cheers
Hi Andy, I drive the same sprinter as you, wondering if I could get a bit of info, how is your spare wheel attached and info on spot lights would be amazing? Richard
Hello mate, the spare is mounted on a rear wheel carrier from wheeliams.co.uk It mounts onto the door hinges but the new shape 907 Sprinter hinges are not compatible. You can buy fancy new hinges OR do what I did & simply buy some older Sprinter hinges on eBay to swap. The spotlights and the mounts are from rhodesvans.co.uk If you’re on Instagram, I’m happy to ping you some pics if it helps mate. Send me a DM 🙌
@@OurVanTales hi again Andy from a quite hot and wet Malaysia, don’t know why I only came across your UA-cam this morning and saw your van the same as mine, as don’t see many new Sprinter camper vans, did such a good deal on mine, but don’t really like front wheel drive but I’ve done nearly 40k miles, very well equipped but no spare wheel and carrier, I’m really jealous ,never new you could swivel the double front seat and did you get. The flair sides in the U.K I’ve got a wide rock and roll bed which is great but can’t really have a lay down in the afternoons, I have full kitchen with separate frezzer and fridge, by the way I’m looking for someone with a similar rig to drive to the nordkap Norway over Christmas , I did it 3 years ago in a 4x4 pickup staying hotels, but this time nearly all camping till I stink to much?
Hey Vince, no worries mate, I’ve been transitioning from my wedding photography business to UA-cam & social media content creation this last year or so. So officially, I guess I’m semi retired 🤷♂️🫶
Great vid mate, Without giving your address away where in Essex are you from, Im sure I’ve met you before. Also you should do a tour of your van video, it looks so nice.👍
As a resident of Kernow (Cornwall), I have considerable reservations about being free to 'Wild Camp' in a lay-bye near a beach. This is not Wild Camping and is not putting anything back into the local economy. Which is one of the most depressed in Britain. Kernow struggles with lack of industry, infrastructure and good, well paid jobs. Coming to the area, splashing about in the sea for a few days then going home is not going to address that. Ha, what about all the money we put into the local economy I hear you say? Yes, but where does the money go I answer? But before you all get irate, I'd like to point you to a new scheme comparable to a French Aire that is to be started in Falmouth where vans that stay overnight pay for facilities. And if some of the money generated were to go to reducing sewage, or promoting renewable energy would that not be a good thing???
I hear ya mate and agree that Aires are a great idea…The UK is embarrassingly behind the rest of Europe for facilities! I still feel tho that as a morally sound and polite member of society, I should have the right to travel and roam freely 🥰🙌
Yeah, a real shame but fortunately, there’s still plenty of other beaches and not long now and we’ll be out of high season and nearly all the beaches will be dog friendly (and more empty 🤭)
Hi I havent watched you before but live just a few miles out of Newquay. There has been a lot of trouble about wild campers because of the mess that’s left behind by some, certainly not all but you only need one bad apple…!
Hi Linda, yeah, I hear what you’re saying but it’s such a shame that vanlifers are so quickly held to blame in general when in fact most of us are busy tidying up after the messy car visitors 🥰🗑🚮
As a True Cornishman, it is good to see another Happy Tourist enjoying Cornwall's beauty. Yet my heart breaks, with the mess left behind at many of the places you visited in this video (I've worked for free as part of this clean-up operation for over 40 years and every year it gets worse). It costs 5 million pounds + for Cornwall, per end of each season to clean-up all the tourist areas, especially costal areas and its beaches. As a Cornishman, why should my Council tax pay for this littering cleanup by the masses as well as 90+ hours of my free time each end of season along with many others working for free to clean-up peoples shit. It is why true Cornishmen and Cornishwomen, want a tourist tax and to stop all free park-up types, that is often where the biggest clean-ups have to happen. I've never seen a van life UA-cam type volunteer their services for the clean-up, Em, I wonder why? If a Cornishman turned-up outside of where you grew-up and live, tipped a load of rubbish on your garden and expect you to pay for the clean-up, I reckon you would you not be happy. Nothing is free in life, as it's unfortunately the rule of life. The most expensive gift we can give someone is 'time'. So, please, please, please, gift the true Cornish people a little of your time and clean-up your mess and even those close to you who may have already left rubbish, when on holiday, as it will save the Cornish peoples a lot of money, time and effort to keep Cornwall beautiful, as it is being ruined by van-life types with this life-style explosion since the Pandemic. It has always been an issue during the tourist season, BUT 2022 IS TAKING THE PISS. Amazing why its not a real issue out of tourist season, when no tourists leave their filth behind anymore and the Cornish small community live in harmony with nature once again.
I hear you my friend, I truly understand your frustrations BUT also, in all honesty, I don’t know of ANY of my community who don’t do their bit in terms of litter picking at all sites frequented. Given that the finger is ALWAYS pointed at vanlifers, the first thing we do is tidy up around us, and the last, is always to leave no trace. The litter is nearly always from car occupants! No doubt still a tourist problem BUT thank goodness for so many of us van dwellers in the area to help tidy up! 🙌 Much love & let’s keep working together 😉
Hi I was born and bred in Porthleven. Unfortunately it's turning into an air b and b village which is sad for young local families who have zero chance of buying a property. Thanks for your efforts keeping our lovely County clean, you shouldn't have to but your efforts are very much appreciated. I think the van life community are conscious of the litter problems and do their best to keep things clean.
Where ever we visit we make an effort to clean up any rubbish even if its not ours, we stayed at Tintagel for a couple of days and did my usual look around and to my amazement there was no rubbish in the field we were staying at. :)
Totally agree 👍 newquay headland just 6 weeks ago was full of vans ,they made a real mess of a beautiful place, lightning fires on the cliff tops ,urinating and the rest anywhere they chose ,and had the cheek to complain about the toilets being closed. I take it they've never heard of a portable toilet.
Couple of things that your video has brought up, Wild camping is not legal in England or Wales, it also is specifically with a single tent, no vehicles. So legally you can't "wild camp" anywhere in E & W, whether anyone challenges you is another matter. As always if you do get away with it, leave the site in a better condition than you found it. :-)
Disagree wholeheartedly with your statements above, there are many places where it is allowed, tolerated but also forbidden. The difference as always, is in the detail and is contingent upon the landowner/local bylaws if council owned land.
DOGS on a Beach is my Pet HATE… They Piss and SH,1t on the sand , Kids like to play in the sand. Have some consideration, Find a Field to walk them in…
As a resident of Cornwall , it is a nightmare here in the Summer. It needs tourism (people spending money) to survive, but believe me the filth, mess ,congestion each year is awful. We never get to the coast, there's no point trying. For a very small county ,having 2 million people descend here puts a lot of strain on the infrastructure. Anyway moan done , yes Cornwall has to have tourism, but all these videos promoting it just add to he problem and 'wild campers' have sometimes been filthy b******
I hear what you’re saying and I do sympathise BUT I can genuinely say, I only ever see us in the van community picking up after others. I’m sure there are a few culprits but compared to the cars - WOW! Thank goodness for responsible vanlifers looking after your beautiful county 🥰
Yep, if I’m alone with the dog on a trip, he takes priority as he can’t be left alone in a hot van. I get what you’re saying but nah, no road trip is a waste of diesel, surfing is the added bonus if given the chance mate 🙌
I would not say missed all the surf beaches. Had many a good surf on the legendry fistral and round on the headland ( little fistral) on the right tide.

The problem is people seem to have taken the wild out of wild camping. No one is there to move you if your wild camping.
I’d like to think that most morally minded vanlifers would move on without bothering anybody 🙏🏻
Love you so much beautiful 🥰 could’ve washed the birds shit off the window 🤣🤣🤣
Ha, love you too beautiful, shit happens 🤭
How on earth did you bump in to Toby guitar. That kid is an absolute guitar legend.
I didn’t know at the time…Just met a great young man with an awesome VW 🤭😂
Love blue love your van and love your vids!! Sth London lad??👌👍
No, North but Lyndsey’s family is South so it rubs off 😂
Cheers fella! 👊🏼
Wow Cornwell Beautiful🇦🇺👍
It’s a firm favourite Dave 🙌
Hi are you a Cornwall person. I moved in Newquay when Boardmasters started. The thing on the stars sometimes it's the spacestation putting there waste into space
Hey mate, no, not that lucky, just visiting 😉
I think we witnessed a real meteor shower according to the internet 🙌
Just come across your channel. love it. Sorry to ask, but where's your van from ? Done yourself ?
Hi, we had a plan and and empty panel van…We had it converted by Trekk Vans in Carlisle 👊🏼
@@OurVanTales Thank you. Will check them out.
Great channel by the way
Thank you 🙌
@@OurVanTales Many, many van life videos around but not as captivating as yours
Next time your down Hayle try the Philps further down the road and grab a flakey steak 😋
Ooh. Flakey Steak sounds epic! 🙌
Cheers
@@h-dawg969 It's actually a really quiet CL on a rural farm.
Hi Andy, I drive the same sprinter as you, wondering if I could get a bit of info, how is your spare wheel attached and info on spot lights would be amazing? Richard
Hello mate, the spare is mounted on a rear wheel carrier from wheeliams.co.uk
It mounts onto the door hinges but the new shape 907 Sprinter hinges are not compatible. You can buy fancy new hinges OR do what I did & simply buy some older Sprinter hinges on eBay to swap. The spotlights and the mounts are from rhodesvans.co.uk
If you’re on Instagram, I’m happy to ping you some pics if it helps mate.
I’m not saying you can, but I did 😂Another awesome vid 😎
🤣🤭 Cheers lovelies! 👊🏼
Hi guys do you happen to know where I could purchase some of them cool camplife lights? Cheers 😎
Hey Gavin, yeah, if you Google ‘The Sunnyside Camplight’, you’ll get a variety of UK suppliers…They are wicked! 🙌
Good man, thanks very much for the help.
Andy, I hope you don't mind me asking but do you have a full time job or have you sold a business that allows you to do these travels?
Hey Vince, no worries mate, I’ve been transitioning from my wedding photography business to UA-cam & social media content creation this last year or so. So officially, I guess I’m semi retired 🤷♂️🫶
@@OurVanTales great stuff mate,I love your videos, I thought with all your tats you were a biker lol
Great vid mate, Without giving your address away where in Essex are you from, Im sure I’ve met you before. Also you should do a tour of your van video, it looks so nice.👍
Cheers fella, Hertfordshire on the Essex border & a regular social scene round the Harlow area 👊🏼
@@OurVanTales thanks mate, I live near bishops stortford so yes just up the road from you👍
Loads off places to wild camp in kernow like anything else you just gotta no where!🏴☠️👍
I make you right mate 🙌
Do u often put a corset on the pets lol
🤭 Oops, easy mistake 🙌
Good Gnashers
😁✌️
Good one again, shame about no dog beaches but the irresponsible owners ruin it for the masses.😡
Yeah, a real shame but fortunately, there’s still plenty of other beaches and not long now and we’ll be out of high season and nearly all the beaches will be dog friendly (and more empty 🤭)
Don’t they just love to ruin you holiday. 26:13
Ha, not mine, not this time….Saw the ‘lil sh!ts early 😉🤭👊🏼
Hi I havent watched you before but live just a few miles out of Newquay. There has been a lot of trouble about wild campers because of the mess that’s left behind by some, certainly not all but you only need one bad apple…!
Hi Linda, yeah, I hear what you’re saying but it’s such a shame that vanlifers are so quickly held to blame in general when in fact most of us are busy tidying up after the messy car visitors 🥰🗑🚮
Stumbled across this, nice one!
What do you do to make money to do this life?
(Come on, what’s the secret to your pearly white teeth?😄)
Haha 😂
Sold all my unnecessary possessions & freed myself from the shackles 🤭🙌
Lol @corset, I call Louis his Bra. 🤣
🤣🤭🙌
Much love & let’s keep working together 😉
Hi I was born and bred in Porthleven. Unfortunately it's turning into an air b and b village which is sad for young local families who have zero chance of buying a property. Thanks for your efforts keeping our lovely County clean, you shouldn't have to but your efforts are very much appreciated. I think the van life community are conscious of the litter problems and do their best to keep things clean.
Where ever we visit we make an effort to clean up any rubbish even if its not ours, we stayed at Tintagel for a couple of days and did my usual look around and to my amazement there was no rubbish in the field we were staying at. :)
I know, it’s infuriating that the easy finger is pointed at Vanlife for excess litter when in the main, it’s Vanlifers that do the tidying! 😔
Always leave it better…100% 👊🏼
Wouldn't call that wild camping. Lol
Fair play mate but don’t forget different formats simply share the same terminology 😉🙌
So you’ve got a surf board and missed all the surf beaches? What a waste of diesel
Yep, if I’m alone with the dog on a trip, he takes priority as he can’t be left alone in a hot van. I get what you’re saying but nah, no road trip is a waste of diesel, surfing is the added bonus if given the chance mate 🙌
@@OurVanTales fair play, dog first, you defo missed sooo many great spots
I would not say missed all the surf beaches. Had many a good surf on the legendry fistral and round on the headland ( little fistral) on the right tide.
