Hearing rain and thunder at night, even the van swaying a little and being all tucked up just sounds so dreamy to me. Love a good thunderstorm at night 🫶
Hello so cool you made this video. I have a tip for if you have any annoying curious people walking around the van, or when you are out alone in the woods somewhere, get some dog barking sounds on your music list , like a loud barking german sheppard or other dog bark. If you wake up in the middle of the night because someone is curious or just being creepy, you put on that sound and tell people that you have a big biting dog, it will help. I once stayed in a cabin in the woods and somebody was walking around, i putted on the barking sounds and very soon the footsteps where gone!! Nobody wants to encouter a big dog biting in the woods.
I've lived in Looe for 36 years, and the fish-loading bit of the quay has been closed for many years, can't remember how long!. In 1972 I paid my first visit to Looe and all along the quay was full of dead sharks - Looe being the UK's main shark-fishing port. It was a sad and horrible sight, thankfully no longer happens. FYI loads of people stealth camp at Hannafore, on the road opposite Looe Island, a lovely place to park, and if you're adventurous you can walk round the coast to Polperro, where there is the Blue Peter, the best pub in the area by far. Many thanks for the enjoyable video.
@@steve-r-collier Yes, that's true, Talland Bay. There's a car park there above the beach and also a wide bit of road, it's also a nice place, half an hour's walk to Polperro and an hour to Looe
I always wanted to sleep in my explorer in the heavy rain just for the sounds of rain on the vehicle. I'd imagine it being super comfy sleeping. Love the sounds of rain, it's very relaxing
First time watching you. I’m from southeast Texas, USA & love camping. I’m 70 years old & feel 20. Congratulations on your son & his 1st birthday. I subscribed & looking forward to seeing you again.🇺🇸🇺🇸
If You know the timing of your food just set it to that. - when you open the door the fryer stops anyway and you can shoogle or turn it and just put the basket back in to continue. First time seeing your channel, love what I’ve seen so far and your van looks cozy. All the best to you and yours. rab from Scotland.
Nice to meet "Shagger". LOL and great torch ( great for whacking people in the middle of the night who are trying to nick your petrol). Loved the drone footage of Looe
I enjoyed the new flashlight and the fun you were having with it. It was nice to meet your friend and glad that he was able to meet up for breakfast. I love eating breakfast out. The rain and storm however was not to my liking. I am glad you handle things that come up with such grace and patience. Glad to have you back on the video.
This reminds me of my LDV200, I used for work about 20 years ago. My gardening tools were in the back half and I had seating behind the front seats with a cooker and and utensils. I remember around 2005, in autumn we had a severe storm and at every opportunity I went back to the van for a brew and some noodles. Mid afternoon the rain turned to snow, the wind was gusting at 50 mph. But all was good, I had some tunes playing, kettle on the go and the van was rocking a good' un. But after surviving on Salisbury plain on ratpacks and a poncho, it was bliss 👌🏻
Stayed in Millendreath a few years back. The coast walk to Looe was stunning in the sun, at low tide you can do a long stretch of it on the beach. Nice spot if you can't find a place in Looe itself.
Great video Shaun loved it we love Loo it’s a beautiful village. Them sausages looked great hhhmmm. Woww that torch is so bright you could aluminate Pluto 🤣. You had no need to worry about the storm your van weighs 3.5t i love it in the van in bad weather it rocks me to sleep feeling safe and cosy. Great footage and editing loved it stay safe buddy See you next week. 🙏👍
This is my first look here and I'm not disappointed. My Mum & Dad had some holidays here. East Looe I believe. 100% for your drink drive comment. As the survivor of a Drunk's second D/D crash, I was stuck in my wreak about an hour, as he staggered up and down, trying to see if I was dead; but the Police got him. However, I don't object to people having an odd one, especially with a pub lunch. Enough said eh? I was interested in your trial of the air fry. and I may try one after seeing those bangers. Actually, it was the thunderstorm title that attracted me. I have always liked to watch or just listen to them; especially when camping with the kids, in somewhere wild. Don't worry about quiet times; I don't mind some people, but I DO like my own quiet time also. Will see more - Jack.
Hi Shaun. Great to have you back post birthday party. Looks a cracking torch. I have the LedLenser. Was mega bucks but is indestructible. An idea to mount it, use velcro straps then when it packs up and gets changed a different one will fit. Another idea when overnighting in strong winds is to park nose to wind. Now, complaints...Im getting ear ache from the other half so can you sort? When vacuuming the window, start at the bottom so the water runs, get caught. She also wants you to get a food temp. probe. saves on tummy upsets. Keep posting.
Good to see the van getting personalised 😂 I love being in the van in a storm, it rocks me to sleep. Also when I'm in my wagon that certainly rocks me to sleep but I wear earplugs at night 😂 My agm won't cut an air frier so gas for me, but those sausages looked, ace..... I'm starving now... Nice one 😂
Great video, that storm was a bit rough! I'm not sure if I've been to Looe, I was at a primary school in Bodmin for the summer term in 1980 (whilst my dad was assistant warden at a camp site - a temporary job between being self employed and being unemployed, there wasn't much call for pollution consultancy work then!) and went to beaches on both coasts most weekends, so it's likely, but I can't remember ... Lovely to see it though, even though your last video was interesting in a good way, it's good to see you back to chatting and supporting local pubs
It is entirely your choice what content you deliver. Equally it is the viewers choice what appeals. So for me you are at your best talking through your adventures and makes it very enjoyable viewing for us. 👍

What an amazing little place look, I’ve only ever been there for work never to look around, I need to get one off those torch’s it’s amazing and you was like a kid with a new toy with that 😂😂preps you should have opened the door to see how bad the weather was 😂 can’t beat a good old thunder storm mate. 😊😊

Great vid as per mate! Not sure if you've seen but Cornwall Council are piloting for 12 months allowing overnight camping up in me homeland up in Bude. Might be cool for you to go check it out and fet the word out there a bit more. I will warn you in advance its £20 to park between 22:00-08:00 which I think is proper expensive but I guess its about time that Cornwall Council start being campervan friendly!
The lovely looe …I’ve done the walk from Polperro…a few times over the years ,the coastal walk …had to catch the bus back to polperro the last time I did it …my boots 🥾 were too tight and crippling me 😬🥾…but had great fish & chips , at the crumple horn on the outskirts of polperro…near my uncle bob’s massive car park!..loving your camper van videos ….cheers !

Absolutely loved this video mate. The feeling of being out in the van and camping just can't be beaten. I'm building mine at the moment but unfortunately a mouse has caused some massive electrical damage and it has really stumped me and demoralised me. The van has been sat for 2 years and I have been really demotivated but videos like this keep me going. (weather hasn't helped either) I will get it done this year fingers crossed as soon as I repair all the electrics lol
Nice one ! Next time you're in the area drive along to Whitsand Bay, there's a great park up overlooking the bay on Military Rd. Also you could try Portwrinkle & walk to the Finnygook, very nice food !!
❤ Your boy is so cute! This Great Granny loved that. I love torches and even at 71 I would be doing the same as you. What’s the wattage of that little air fryer please. I love this video the joy you got from that torch made me smile thanks for a lovely video.
That torch is great for small yachts. You know the sailing version of van life. Huge battery consumption so im assuming big battery capacity gives it a longer life. Wonder if its rechargeable though?
Just come across your video. I used to live near Looe, I haven't been there since I moved inland 😂 1980s Was a lovely watch thank you. Definitely look into more of your videos

Buy a decent torch ffs, 😆 Loved the trip and Looe was quiet then. I bet it does well in season. About time we went back to Cornwall but I really don't need a diversion onto a proper one car wide road again. Are they still working on that big 'A' road dual carriageway down there? Cheers 🍻
Another Great video Shaun. I can’t believe Charlie is One already😅have you got a Window Hammer to hand in the van? If not maybe worth thinking about, and also maybe wind deflectors on the front windows so you can have them down half inch in the nights. Might help with the condensation in the morning 👍🏽
Hello mate. Great vid. We were in Looe the same time as you I believe. The first time for me. This is what brought me to your channel initially but with the camper also it was a great watch. Great editing also just a shame about the audio sync but I checked some comments and nobody else mentioned this so may be my connection. Anyway we’re looking at campers so I loved this insight. Nice work.
