    Drew.... when did you get Crappie Brakes? Were the Paddles just not cutting it for you?🤔🤔🤔

      I have had them for several months now and the paddles are still being utilized when the wind gets heavy just had to go ahead and get the breaks to try to stay on top of the big crappie in the tournaments

      I can tell the stability isn't there after removing mine in high winds as well. But the brakes do their thing. Best to ya. Now GOE MAKE SUM MUNAYE..🤑🤑🤑🤑

      Yes sir it’s always a blast to feel that rod thump, no matter if it’s a 9 inch fish or a 3lb fish.

      The last time I was at Grenada lake I was supposed to let you know if I found the crappie but it was very slow and i didn't find any till my last day there

      Some days can be very slow and I have found that those are the days the fish are most active right before sunset

    Get all the fun out of that sonar you can because in the next 2 to 3 years I believe that the states DNRs will cut the crill limits on crappie so drastically and I would not be surprised if they also didn’t come up with a slot too protect those 2 and 3 pounders from hit the grease kudos for you turning those big fish lose but you are the exception not the norm

      I understand that completely and if the biologists and wildlife specialist deem it necessary to lower limits or place additional slot limits in place then I will only agree with them and abide by the rules set forth. I believe that a lot of anglers are learning more about the fish due to livescope and agree conservation practices such as releasing more fish especially the bigger fish. All of the guides I talk to on Grenada strongly suggest this to their clients. Also if you have not heard of crappie forever I suggest looking into their website and at what efforts they are taking for the conservation of crappie. All we can do is continue to have these conversations and bring awareness to the conservation of not only the crappie but all of our wildlife.

      @@accarpenter88 thank you for replying back well I think absolutely right about guides having the right attitude about catch and release and that’s a good thing but the problem is it’s not just guides that are buying these sonars I think the development of this technology will go down as the single worst thing to happen to freshwater fishing for all species of fish

      Yes I have power poles with crappie brakes attached to them and I also have drift paddles on the power poles that I sometimes use to slow down when the wind is really pushing the boat hard

    You using a 8616? If so, do you like it?

      The next time I am able to upgrade I will be going with the 8616, but right now I am using the 8412 and it is a big upgrade over the 1022 I started out with.

    What's your long rod of choice?

    • @accarpenter88
      @accarpenter88  4 місяці тому +1

      My rod of choice is going to be the 18ft BnM black diamond. I believe it has enough back bone for the length but is not so stiff as to loose any sensitivity. Paired with 20lb sniping braid line it is very sensitive. I also have a problem of trying to set the hook like I’m after a 10lb bass and black diamond has enough give so I don’t rip the hook from the fishes mouth. I hope this helps, but if 18 ft is too long the BnM blue diamond in shorter lengths is also a great choice
