Hello Pauline, I would get rid of that purple head completely but I just don’t know how 😆 it’s so heavy I can’t put it out for the bin men 😆 hope you’re having a great day ♥️
@paulinecrispin121 well funny you should say that because when I typed my last reply to you, that same exact thought crossed my mind!! When I hear him next weekend I will ask 😆 we both want him gone 😂😆♥️
Hi Janette, I cannot beleive how much you have packed into your garden beds, everything looks gorgeous. The evergreens really make such a beautiful impact on your garden.😊. Have a lovely day!
I am looking for that spruce for my garden. Your June garden is so full of color . Love the sweet border plants perfect for your garden . Evening light is so soft and calm i should do videos later in the day for much better light !
Hi there Teresa and thank you. I always think it’s better to film in shade rather than sun so that means either early morning or late evening in my garden. I do hope you find a blue spruce, they are just so delightful and tolerate extreme heat and cold too. Perfect! I hope you’re having a great day. We’ve had thunder and finally rain which is wonderful ♥️
Looking so pretty. Such a beautiful mix of colour, structure and texture. Time to just relax and enjoy your garden. Everytime we gardenders go outside, we find a job to do. So put the kettle on, cut the cake and chill. ☕🍰😁👍
Good morning Penny and now that it’s summer tomorrow, I do intend to step back a bit more. You’re right, spring is so busy and now it’s time for a rest and just enjoy the garden. I will try to sit and not jump up every five minutes 😆 hope you have a very lovely day my friend ♥️
Your flowers are all so pretty! Mine are all still in the green-only-and-struggling stage, but I suppose that's what I get for insisting on growing everything from seed and not starting early enough! :D
Hello there Paula and think of all the money you have saved and the fact that your plants are going to last longer than mine will as they’ll be blooming slightly later! So I think you’ve done the best thing. However, I promise myself that I will grow geraniums from seed next year and save myself some money as I’ve seen others do this and it seems quite easy. Wishing you a great day ♥️
@@TheEnthusiasticGardener I keep thinking I need to start earlier - or maybe just switch to biennials/perennials so I can grow them like normal, just for next year (I have SO MANY that will flower next year, I really hope they survive the winter!). Geraniums from seed are good! I have a few, but I need to plant them out so they can grow more!
I think seedlings do take a lot of nurturing dont they? Particularly if you don’t have a nice heated greenhouse or much room. I might try again next year but last year I grew lots of things from seed, spent a good week getting them all hardened off gradually building up their time outside which was quite an effort, then I finally planted them out for the slugs and snails to eat them the next day 😆😆 it was most disheartening 😆♥️
@@TheEnthusiasticGardener Oh, definitely! I've learned to sow more than I need to make up for the inevitable times when I forget to water them. Of course, this then runs the risk of having more than you need, but I think that's preferable to not having enough. 😉 As for the slugs, I learned my lesson last year when they attacked my tomatoes the day after I planted them out - now I leave plenty of bright blue "candy" for them and they (mostly) leave my veggies alone. I would prefer not to have to use the iron phosphate, but I can't just let the slugs ruin all the hard work and money I've put into the plants.

Garden's looking fab Janette. What a difference one week makes as your birthday planter has really come to life with those beautiful dahlias. Love your blue lobelia around the edge and I can sympathise with all the watering you've had to do lately. We had our first lot of rain on Sunday and it was a welcome relief as everywhere has been baked and I've been wilting. Funny how we can take the heat abroad yet we struggle in our own very hot weather. Have a wonderful week.

Hi Janette Your June garden tour was fantastic. I can relate to your 'one plum' tree. I have a 'two fig' tree which has spectacular leaves but in twenty or so years has produced just nothing really. Time for another chuck out. Will buy 2 more i think which usually have more fruit at the garden centre. Lots to comment on in your garden. So beautiful and well cared for. Looks overcast today in good old Essex. Love and happiness to you and your family😘🎈💕
Good morning Sharon and it is thundering this morning and just started to rain which is actually very nice. Yes, I think we have to think of fruit being a bonus 😆 you made me smile about your ‘two fig’ tree 😆😆 hope you have a marvellous day ❤️
Hello there Kasiad and thank you so much for confirming, everyone has said the same too!! I had no idea 😆 so pleased to know now though. Everyone says they grow huge, I’ve had mine about 3 years and it’s still small so maybe I have a dwarf version? Either way I think it’s beautiful. Have a happy first weekend of summer ♥️
Good morning dear Peggy and thank you, those roses are indeed gorgeous, I must give them some more fertiliser, it obviously works!! Happy summer solstice to you ♥️
Hi again Bobbi, the Hotlips salvia always does so well for me so I was so pleased to find some in different colours and I’ll definitely show you how they do ♥️
Hi Janette it's all looking so fabulous❤ I know what you mean about lobelia they are high maintenance, like you I'm in love with geraniums/begonias they are such little troopers, not fussy where they go and flower their hearts out for months ! Xx
What a joy to see your video pop up this morning. I have lots of gardening videos to choose from but always watch yours first as they are a feast for my eyes. Your garden is proof positive that color does not have to come from flowers alone. However, that blue of the lobelia is a color I doubt will ever be found in foliage, truly gorgeous! You’ve just about convinced me to give pelargoniums a try (never cared much for their “scent”); yours are so beautiful and what’s not to love about a plant that blooms it’s head off all season! I believe your friend it correct about the chocolate plant at 9:24 based on the leaves and flowers. Here in Kentucky, they get enormous, even ones named “dwarf”! 😬 I guess we’ll have to forgive Richard for teeing off ⛳️ on your plum since he’s going to paint your fountain. 😳 I’m anxious to see it when it’s done as I think the stone look will be quite a plus in your lovely garden. 💚
Hello JC and I am so touched by your lovely comment. It’s true there are so many great gardening videos daily so I am honoured you choose to watch mine first!! You’ve made my day. Oh please try pelargoniums, I’m definitely going to try growing them from seed next year. I didn’t sow one single seed this year, but apparantly they are so easy so there’s no excuse. I hope you’re having a fabulous day my friend ♥️
@@TheEnthusiasticGardener you deserve a pat on the back. It's gorgeous! It blends very well. All the texture and colours you use. Very very pretty. I'm even inspired
Hello my friend , watching your video late today . Worked all day 😊 . But wow everything looks beautiful, I love that you have cherries already and looks really healthy.
Good morning Nino and Lo and the same happened to mine last year but that was an exceptionally hot summer, it will likely happen again this year so I’d better make the most of it. Hope you have a happy day - summer solstice ☀️♥️
Hi Janette, I'm fairly certain that is a ninebark. I have a video short you can watch to compare it to. If it is a ninebark I think you'll need to move it as they get quite large. The one in my video is supposed to be 4 ft tall but it's 6 ft tall. I also have the species ninebark in my backyard it's supposed to get about 8 ft. tall but it's at least 12 ft tall.
Hello and goodness me 😆😆 I’ve had it about 3 years and it’s always been this size but I’m going to have to do my research 😆 I’ll definitely have a look at your short! Have a happy day ♥️
Your garden is beautiful. Congratulations 🎊 on sooo much success. I enjoyed your use of color and varieties of plants. The sit a spell areas are inviting.
The garden is looking so lovely! Naughty Richard knocking your plum off! But good of him to own up to it 😂. I bet next year you will have lots! Watering has been a real challenge in this hot weather hasn’t it? We’ve just had a big thunder storm & a good downpour, so no need to water today 😉.
I was just thinking the same - no need to water! It was a lovely long downpour too 😊 and yes, fancy knocking off my only plum! Don’t worry, I’ll hide his golf glove 😆 have a happy day ♥️
Your garden looks so beautiful Janette! That red shrub is certainly a physocarpus - ninebark.. It should get round clusters of either pink or white blooms as it matures .. As usual it was a delight to see your garden! ❤
Hello there and thank you so much for joining me. Yes!! Everyone is telling me ninebark!!! I will look out for the flowers. It’s going to be massive too I’m told !!! But I have had it a few years and so far that’s as big as it has got! So pleased to know for sure though ♥️
That's a nine bark that you were asking about. I have one in my yard as a specimen plant. It's Nine Bark Diablo and it's already about 7 ft tall and 5 ft wide. There are smaller versions, so I hope you have one of those. They grow really FAST! Mine is only 3 years old. If anyone out there needs a fast growing shrub that doesn't require pruning, Nine Bark might work for you. Everything is looking good in your garden Janette!
Hi there Manycats and thank you so much! Everyone has said the same thing so I’m now convinced. I think I have a small version (I hope so anyway as you know I don’t have the space otherwise), because mine is maybe 3 years old and hasn’t got any bigger than this, so far anyway. It’s very gorgeous though, I bet yours at that size looks incredible! Hope you’re having a great week ♥️
Happy belated birthday, Janette. I too am growing bush lobelia for the first time this year. I'm a big fan of lobelia so it's weird I never got to this one before. I like how you've gone all out with it. Yeah, trim back that perennial wallflower. It should flower again. Thanks for sharing.
OH Janette, ur garden is a combination of elegance, interest, n fun loving! Everything looks so wonderful! Ur cherry tree is well ahead of mine but I don’t think it will ever b sweet since we have short summer n colder climate🥰. I really look forward to seeing ur garden tours!🌹🪴🍄🌺

Richard had been bad😂teeing off near your tree. Looking forward to painting the waterfall, it will look great!
Hello Elizabeth and thank you so much, as always, you’re a very great friend and so encouraging. Richard needs to be reprimanded that’s for sure 😆 so I will make him paint that fountain once and for all!! Happy 1st day of summer to you ♥️
😂try not to be too hard on Richard, but he definitely owes you big time. Looking forward to your next vlog, you are a ray of sunshine in this gloomy weather here in NY.
Hello Susan and thank you!! The alliums were finished. I do leave them in longer normally but just had the urge to pull them out this year, the bulbs are still there though so I’m going to see if they come up next year 👍 hope you’re having a lovely day ♥️
Hello dear Bonny. Yes! The consensus is it’s a ninebark!! Well I never!! 😆😆 just goes to show you how much I know about gardening 😆😂♥️ hope you’re well and having a great week.
I love your shady area with the ferns it looks so fresh. Beautiful garden. I had an errisum and I cut it fairly hard back it killed the plant, but I was lucky I stuck a few slips of the cuttings in a pot I now have 3 good plants.
Hello there Alice and thank you so much, I love my shady corner too. Thanks for telling me about the ERYSIMUM too, I think I’ll just cut the flowering bits off but good idea to do some cuttings too. Have a happy first weekend of summer ♥️
i would strongly recommend a good mulch, an inch works, buy the green waste compost bags from the recycling center, its great at water retention and stops panning. AND its like rocket fuel for food. Will help you a lot and not expensive. I just got a couple of cubic meters delivered by trailer. I would like to make cakes out of it and eat it its that good.
Happy belated birthday, your yard is looking beautiful, so colourful. I especially like the variety of Heuchera’s you have. I have three right now but have started looking for some new ones to add thanks to your videos. I really enjoy your content, take care. Best wishes from 🇨🇦.
Hello there Iris and thanks for visiting all the day from Canada. I am in love with heucheras as you can see. So many gorgeous colours they add so much interest!! Hope you’re having a great week ♥️
@@TheEnthusiasticGardener haha - I tried to take a good look - paused the video and everything. I would say 90% likelihood that it's a ninebark. When it gets a bit bigger, you can tell with 100% certainty. Especially with @Tara's confirmation. Your garden is magnificent!!!!!!
Oh yes Iza everyone is telling me you are right 👍☀️😆 it’s never got any bigger than that though and I think I’ve had it about 3 years! It’s really pretty though and … now I know!! 👍😊 thank you and hope you’re having a great day ♥️
Jeanette, you've created a garden of Eden! So much in bloom. We've had a very dry Spring here in Virginia but it's looking like this first week of summer may be making up for it. Rain expected on/ off in the 10 day forecast. The plants will love it but so will the weeds😅. Happy Summer Solstice 🌻

Janette what is your soil type please? I have heavy clay but can see your growing so many beautiful plants in the ground including salvia. A lot of mine are in pots😂x
Hi again Laura, I have no idea!! You have prompted me to buy a soil test kit, I’m going to look on Amazon right now and let you know. I had heavy clay in my last garden and it is difficult but in the end I found rather than try and dig it over I used to just add lots of compost on the top and then plant in that, so that might be an idea for you? I do like pots but I always think they are extra work, unless you have them set up on drip, but I don’t have drip in my garden. Wishing you a very lovely day ♥️
It's looking beautiful, just a little deadheading, not enough it bother me on this tour. I'd love to have seen the look on Richard's face when he hit that plum tree. That dove must have be confused about that grass, how do ya get a worm up from this stuff 🤔
Haha yes Wende, must be quite confusing for the birds 😆 but my one and only plum! I was looking forward to eating that 😆😆 I’ll get him back, just got to think of something 😆 hope you’re ok ♥️
@@TheEnthusiasticGardener I’m good thanks. Your cherry tree looks amazing, I planted 2,1 bing and rainier, both died, never got one cherry. I had beautiful flowers and the Japanese beetles got to every one.

Everyone says they grow huge, I’ve had mine about 3 years and it’s still small so maybe I have a dwarf version? Either way I think it’s beautiful. Have a happy first weekend of summer ♥️
Janette your garden is looking lovely happy gardening Naughty Richard 😂
😂😂 hi Iris, I will get him back somehow 😆 hope you’re ok and thanks for joining me ♥️
Happy Birthday!! Your garden is Beautiful! The roses are amazing! Thanks for sharing your garden with us! 😊🥰
Good morning dear Peggy and thank you, those roses are indeed gorgeous, I must give them some more fertiliser, it obviously works!! Happy summer solstice to you ♥️
❤😊
Hello my dear MJ and thank you ♥️
Your garden is looking lovely, your garden box is stunning, enjoy your colourful paradise 💙
Hello Sandra and thank you, such lovely comments ♥️ happy summer solstice ♥️

The gardens are looking lovely. Darn those slugs. 😢 excited to see how the salvias develop.
Xx
Hello Julie, they are a bit high maintenance aren’t they? But pretty. I love geraniums for same reason as you 😊 hope you’re having a happy day ♥️
What a joy to see your video pop up this morning.
This is an absolutely gorgeous little garden!!!
Love the circle with blue fringe!!!
So quaint
Hello there Tania and thank you for such a lovely comment ♥️
@@TheEnthusiasticGardener you deserve a pat on the back. It's gorgeous! It blends very well. All the texture and colours you use. Very very pretty.
I'm even inspired
Oh I’m just so delighted if I have inspired just one person Tania. Not much of this was here just over 3 years ago 😊♥️
@@TheEnthusiasticGardener you lie?!?!?! Three years?!?!?! Wooooooow!
That's inspiring.
Is the journey on your channel
Pretty much 3 years and yes it’s all on my channel ♥️
What a beautiful garden.
Hello there Anthea and thank you so much for your lovely comment ♥️
Hi Janette, the weather's been fab hasn't it, your gardens looking fab, enjoy the rest of the week. ❤
Hi Helen, it’s been so lovely and even better that it really poured down this morning too! Have a happy day ♥️
Hello my friend , watching your video late today . Worked all day 😊 . But wow everything looks beautiful, I love that you have cherries already and looks really healthy.
Good morning Max and as always, thank you for being so supportive. Happy summer solstice today ♥️
@@TheEnthusiasticGardener good morning my friend, happy summer 😊.
Your Lobelia looks fantastic, I never seen to have luck as the weather gets warmer, they tend to dry up. Everything looks great
Good morning Nino and Lo and the same happened to mine last year but that was an exceptionally hot summer, it will likely happen again this year so I’d better make the most of it.
Have a happy day ♥️
Your garden is so colourful Janette. I love it, all your plants are gorgeous. Happy summertime x
Hello Debbie, and thank you 🙏 lovely rain today ☀️ happy summertime to you too ♥️
Your garden is beautiful. Congratulations 🎊 on sooo much success. I enjoyed your use of color and varieties of plants. The sit a spell areas are inviting.
Hello there Debbie and thank you so much for joining me today. And your lovely comments make me smile 😊 hope you’re having a great week ♥️
Don’t worry, I’ll hide his golf glove 😆 have a happy day ♥️
Looking good , I think your getting the hang of this 😉🦋🐌
James, are you feeling ok? You gave me a nice compliment! 😆😆 thanks my friend ♥️
Lovely June tour Janette. Everything looks so pretty. Love all the topiary. Have a nice weekend 💐
Hello there Lil and thank you for coming along today ❤️ have a happy day ♥️
Stunning! Good design and structure
Good morning to you and thank you for your lovely comment!! Happy summer solstice ♥️
You have beautiful landscape. Very nice garden
Good morning and thank you for your lovely comment ♥️happy summer solstice ☀️♥️
I love the view from your yellow chair. 🤩
Hello there Tied2TheTube, how have you been? I do sit there a lot especially when it’s hot. Happy summer solstice to you ☀️♥️

Just beautify and a job well done
Hello there and thank you so much for visiting with me today - hope you’re having a great day ♥️
Happy belated birthday, Janette. I too am growing bush lobelia for the first time this year. I'm a big fan of lobelia so it's weird I never got to this one before. I like how you've gone all out with it. Yeah, trim back that perennial wallflower. It should flower again. Thanks for sharing.
Good morning Rachel and thank you 🙏 I will cut it back now you’ve confirmed!! I do love the lobelia too ♥️ how did your open day go? ♥️
@@TheEnthusiasticGardener it went okay thanks, Janette. Fewer people because of the rain but I wàs very glad for the rain

Absolutely beautiful
Oh thank you so much ♥️
Yes, it is a ninebark/Physocarpus. Thanks for video.
Hello Helen and I’m so lucky that I have everyone confirming for me! I never knew 😆 thank you and I hope you’re having a great day ♥️
OH Janette, ur garden is a combination of elegance, interest, n fun loving! Everything looks so wonderful! Ur cherry tree is well ahead of mine but I don’t think it will ever b sweet since we have short summer n colder climate🥰. I really look forward to seeing ur garden tours!🌹🪴🍄🌺
Oh Mary how lovely of you, thank you for your very sweet comments. You’ve made my day, happy 1st day of summer ♥️
@@TheEnthusiasticGardener yes, a reason to celebrate n maybe better weather on the way!🌤
We are having a mixture of sun and rain which of course is lovely but making all my weeds grow wild 😆♥️
Just wow! Wow! ❤❤❤❤❤❤I love your garden!
I am working on my garden and estimate it may take me two to three years to get it where I want it.
Hello Patricia, everything in my garden is no older than 3 years (apart from my old rose) so it’s really not going to take you any longer. I just kept planting 😊 hope you’re having a great week ♥️
Janette my friend your garden at the end of June is looking amazing🌿. The colors and contrasts of the different flowers and trees are really striking. Happy Birthday to you🥳, you look great!
Awww bless you Elizabeth ♥️

Looking good Janette 😊
Hi there Pamela and thank you so much ♥️
Morning Jeanette lovely garden tour , all your plants looking so healthy👍👍👍👍👍 but where are your alliums , have you got rid of them all ?
Hello Susan and thank you!! The alliums were finished. I do leave them in longer normally but just had the urge to pull them out this year, the bulbs are still there though so I’m going to see if they come up next year 👍 hope you’re having a lovely day ♥️
Lovely garden tour Janette. Looks like a ninebark to me too. Bonny
Happy belated birthday 🎉. 61... No Way
Thank you!!! Yes, 61!! It’s only a number (a high number though) 😆 hope you’re ok and give Marley a cuddle from me ♥️
i would strongly recommend a good mulch, an inch works, buy the green waste compost bags from the recycling center, its great at water retention and stops panning. AND its like rocket fuel for food. Will help you a lot and not expensive. I just got a couple of cubic meters delivered by trailer. I would like to make cakes out of it and eat it its that good.
😆😆 thanks Alan, you are totally right of course 👍❤️
Love your garden!! Amazing
Oh thank you so much gigigg9763 😊 for joining me in my garden today! Hope you’ve had a fabulous weekend ♥️
Ninebark 🍃
Oh thank you for confirming for me ♥️
@@TheEnthusiasticGardener haha - I tried to take a good look - paused the video and everything.

Hello there and thanks for joining me today ♥️
@@TheEnthusiasticGardener btw start looking for a bigger garden
@alanthecat59 😆😆 ok I will tell Richard 😆😆♥️
Hello Eileen and happy summer solstice to you too!!! We had thunder and rain all this morning which was really welcome. Oh yes, those weeds!!! Why is it they never fail to thrive?!!! Hope you’re doing ok in Virginia ♥️

Its been heavy rain in the South East my roses have taken a hammering how did yours get on? garden is looking great tho
Hello there, yes heavy rain all morning, thunder too. Well I have just got home from work and my roses are still standing - phew!! Hope you’re ok ♥️
I think your friend may be right. It looks like ninebark to me, also.
Hello Bobbi and I’m so lucky to have all this expert advice from you all, everyone agrees it’s a ninebark!!! Thank you. Have a happy day ♥️
Janette what is your soil type please? I have heavy clay but can see your growing so many beautiful plants in the ground including salvia. A lot of mine are in pots😂x
Hi again Laura, I have no idea!! You have prompted me to buy a soil test kit, I’m going to look on Amazon right now and let you know. I had heavy clay in my last garden and it is difficult but in the end I found rather than try and dig it over I used to just add lots of compost on the top and then plant in that, so that might be an idea for you? I do like pots but I always think they are extra work, unless you have them set up on drip, but I don’t have drip in my garden. Wishing you a very lovely day ♥️
What kind of bird was that crossing your garden? I don't think I have every seen one.
Hello there, that was just a common old pigeon ♥️ they’re quite large but they’re everywhere here 😊

It's looking beautiful, just a little deadheading, not enough it bother me on this tour. I'd love to have seen the look on Richard's face when he hit that plum tree. That dove must have be confused about that grass, how do ya get a worm up from this stuff 🤔

Found some today on my coneflowers, and second flush of roses, gives me great joy to cut them in half if I have my snipes with me. Otherwise they go underfoot, which isn't bad either, or in soapy water.
