0:00 Intro
0:05 Car smells like fuel because of the jerry cans in the trunk.
0:14 The customer's complaint was that their turn signals are acting weird. The technician said: "I checked this 2357 bulb out and the terminals were shorted together for park and turn light. I replaced the bulb and it fixed it."
0:23 No extra info. But I'm sure the vehicle either came in for a check engine light or bad smell since rodents can smell terrible!
0:51 Looks like insulation that the customer used. Which I'm pretty sure rodents actually love. This would definitely do the opposite so somebody must have been lying to him.
0:59 It was a cracked block on #3, 4, and 8 and as a result it destroyed the head gasket. It was a mix of coolant and oil leaking straight out the engine into the exhaust pipes. The customer ended up getting the engine rebuilt which would most likely cost a lot since these are F1-inspired engines. More info here - www.bmwblog.com/2020/08/23/bm...

And more info about what a PCV Valve is - kennedytransmission.com/blog/...
1:32 The company that bought this truck just bought it and parked it in their parking lot and this happened. As well since it's a V8 there's a catalytic converter for each side/bank of the engine. So they just removed the passenger side and the resonator. The next clip is how loud it sounds when the technician started it up.
1:49 The truck was a 1986 Ford F-150. It has a cracked frame and the u-joint on the rear driveshaft is very worn.
2:07 That's the trailer receiver that is very rusty. That would have been bad if they decided to tow anything.
2:15 No extra info.
2:26 An airboat behind this truck to get it to the shop after it broke down.
2:41 Outro. Thanks for watching! - Авто та транспорт
I got to say that last clip with the air boat pushing the pick up truck was pretty damn inventive and successful! That's really using your gray matter!😄
Even if he got a ticket the judge would probably laugh and fine him $25 bucks. That's cheaper than calling a tow truck!
Agreed, I honestly think that was pretty brilliant.
@@wb2vsj I think the biggest issue would be the guy riding the boat, not sure about in the US, but here in Aus there is no way you would get away with doing that, the driver of the truck would loose their license and the guy on the boat would get a massive fine.
@@myopinion69420 Same here in Denmark - the police do certainly NOT like that kind of "ingenuity" in our neck of the woods. 😂
Dang Baby, I ain't payin' no 75 Bucks for a dang Tow Truck, I'm gittin' the airboat and y'alls gonna steer.
Imagine paying a mechanic to just simply open the trunk and remove a gas can because they were too lazy to do a basic search of finding where the gas smell is coming from LMAOO
easy money. Being stupid and lazy costs money.
Not the first time I have seen this on this channel and doubt it'll be the last either. So many times a customer could have easily found the source of a smell or a noise if they had just searched their own vehicle.
1:20 This is why we always get a PPI (pre-purchase inspection) before buying a used vehicle, kids.
Should’ve known something was wrong, it was a V10 BMW lolol
But he got a good deal!
What's the fun in that? We won't get any awesome clips then 🤪
The moment I saw those pipes I knew what this was lol
BMW, you were so close to godhood!
Maybe he did it himself on that 1st night and had to get towed?
“Someone told them to do this to keep rats out of their engine” Yeah that will help, a raging inferno in your engine bay tends to keep living creatures out.
😆
thats almost certainly fiberglass insulation, itll MELT the engine before it even thinks about catching fire.
@@rjwaters3 Yeah but I don't think you want to insulate your engine. It produces a lot of heat.
Mice love that fire proof pink insulation. I have seen them make nests of that and rockwool. It's itchy stuff for us humans but doesn't seem to bother critters.
@@consaka1 I've seen it too. They come up from the crawl space through the plumbing holes and build a nest right in your wall.
Holy cow, that airboat! :O
Crazy, but I'm not going to lie, that's pretty impressive.
That’s the Cajun Navy for ya. Always there when ya need them. Unlike the government.
That's thinking outside of the box.
I got a laugh out of that.
Also needs a bit of thought from the one who controls the throttle to not crank full power on while turning
Yeah, that is actually a very clever solution, never seen anything like that.
2:38 props on getting to the tire shop with those tires.
That last clip really should be titled "Saying you're a hillbilly without saying you're a hillbilly". Brilliant stuff.
2:31 - that truck was found in a peat bog after being lost for 2500 years. It is now on display at the Smithsonian.
The guy who bought that M5 had NO IDEA what kind of trouble he was asking.
Yep, especially with a V10. $$$
As soon as I saw m5 v10, I knew it was not good
If you're brave enough to own a BMW out of warranty you better know how to fix it
HE blew it himself on that 1st drive
Sreten (m539 restorations) got just such an BMW from the US to Germany (Frankfurt am Main.)
He did fix the engine complete and so now has a very fast and dependable autobahn locomotive. Though I believe it took took him at least a week to repair and renovate the engine (replacing rod bearings) from below.
I appreciate the compilations ending with one clip of something awesome to show it's not all bad.
OMG, the air boat cracked me up.
Having a tow hook-up rusted through like 2:30 is quite something given how thick the metal originally was. There must not be a whole lot left to the rest of the truck's structural integrity either.

0:30 "smells like fuel" I spilled about 3 gallons out of a 5 gallon can in the back of my Impala months ago, still smells like gas if it sits in the sun with the windows up. I loathe these new "spill proof" gas cans. Even the O-ring seal on the spout is junk, which is what happened in my case.
also you can't buy the right rubber for the sealing anywhere, so it would quell up from the fuel fumes and crumble away... or just vanish, as it happened to me once.
@@lotharrenz4621, huh, hasn't happened to me... yet. But you are right, weather seals and petroleum are a poor combination. When I was younger, I had a window that had trouble rolling up and down. I made the mistake of lubricating it with WD40, the seals were wiped out
@@vivillager that's why one uses either silicone oil or soapy water. with the latter the rubber would get stuck when it dries, though. I also read somewhere in a classic car magazine that older rubber sealings on cars can be destroyed by silicone.
guess it's never that easy, huh.
0:20 This is actually completely legal in The Netherlands and having the seat as shown in the video is also recommended here.
The only things one needs to take care of: Disable airbag on passenger side + make sure the seat is properly secured.
Pretty sure it's still the same in Sweden (I haven't had a car for 30 years or so), up to a certain age you have to have a backward facing baby seat, is there even any safe way to mount that in the back?
@@Hexalobular is legal and recomended
As if most people even remember to disable the passenger side airbag. MUCH safer in the rear passenger seat facing backwards. Add an extra suction cup mounted mirror for quick glances to check on your precious little one. This also forces the driver to pullover if the little one needs immediate attention instead of trying to do that while driving 2 to 3 tonnes of killing machine.
It’s also legal in most states in the United States, as long as the air bag is disabled
@@Hexalobular it is the same way as in the front, only not leaning on the desk but on a seat, but turning back to care for any babies momentary needs isn´t really best when you need to focus on road in front of you - this way you have it in peripheral sphere of vision 99% of the time

The airboat clip definitely belongs in the "Real Men of Genius" category! But it would be a "Fail Army" special with the previous clip showing the rusted out tow hitch.
0:20 I hope the passenger airbag was disabled.
I have driven a few 2 door utes that have a key operated switch in the glove box to disable the passenger airbag for just this purpose.
Here in Aus, if the vehicle only has 1 row of seat(a single cab ute/truck for example) and the car has provision (anchor point and ability to disable airbag/no airbag in passenger seat) you can put a child seat in the front seat.

I was wondering what the issue was in this clip. Thought it mustn't have been strapped down or something.
I was on a oil spill remediation job. River was frozen; but EPA wanted monitoring for a spill. Airboats were called in. When the dually couldn’t get traction on the icy boat ramp….the airboat pushed itself, the trailer and the truck up the ramp. Corvette crate motor

0:20 Here in Germany you can put Child Seats like that in the Front IF and ONLY IF you disable the Airbags (many Cars have a Switch for that, which is only accessible when the Passenger Door is open). Obviously you must switch it back on when removing the Child Seat.
Yep and we have many child seats that can be mounted like that, for small babys. Because it is more safe in an event of a crash.
It doesn't look like it was even strapped in though.
Here in Germany we don't just wedge it between the car seat and the dashboard though. Der Sitz ist nicht angeschnallt, sondern nur da eingeklemmt.
I just came to comment this. That's a Ford. Most Ford trucks and SUVs that I know of have a key slot to disable the passenger air bag.
While not the best place for the car seat regardless it's not as bad as the video is implying.
@@killemtoenjoythesilence Its not
Buckle in, whoever it was just wedged it it there. So it's a high probability they also didn't disable the airbag at all.

Critters do a lot of mechanical damage. Left my chainsaw out a couple of days ago, got a mud dauber muffler job..... (usually it's just my air lines/tools)
Few years back we brought an old hilo back over to the shop from the warehouse across the street and after a bit could smell something burning. 00:23 this is why most cars (in Europe anyways) have a passenger airbag off switch.

So do cars in America, atleast every car i've been into you can turn off the airbags. Just depending on state laws, you aren't allowed to keep children in the front seats for safety reasons. Even in Spain you can't do what the person in the video was doing.
Are you allowed to have a baby seat in the front in Europe?

And to the idiotic engineers that design this garbage...
Youve got no idea how many times i wanted to cuss out customers.

@@JustRolledIn Awesome thanks. I have had some interesting things happen to my cars. The most intriguing had to be the fact that my windshield wipers were intermittent. If I hit a bump they would stop or start. The problem came to a head when part of the water pump sheared off and went in a different direction than I was driving. It's amazing how one thing out of place can cause so much trouble. A broken strut poking into the serpentine belt, binding it up and causing tension in places it shouldn't. Had a brother in law needed to move his pickup without an engine. Put a tow hitch on a VW Rabbit and we pushed him 60 miles to the mechanic shop. No towing charge... 😁
We used my mom's 83 Rabbit to pull my dad's 63 Ford F100 out of the mud when I was about four years old. It took a lot of spinning, cussing, and effort, but it eventually got it it moving. My dad taking that truck up the field to grab a load of firewood and getting stuck by the pond ranks as one of the dumbest things he ever did. At the time we didn't have enough money to call a tow truck to extract him from that situation. Had I been old enough to drive we probably could attached his 85 Vanagon to the front of the Rabbit and had extra pulling power that would have shortened that three hour ordeal.
Some the best clips yet.
Nice vid! Perfect editing.
Got a good laugh out of the last clip 😂
I might have been a candidate for this channel a few years ago. I had some work done at a shop (clogged oil pressure sensor) during the winter and a day after I got the car back I could smell antifreeze in the cabin. I thought I might have just been driving near a car with a coolant leak and didn't think it was a problem at first, but it persisted for a week. I called the shop and they said bring it back in. They looked all over it but couldn't find anything leaking, and the radiator was still full.
Turns out it was the new de-icing washer fluid I had put in the car just before the initial service. When I used the washers I could smell it, and it smelled like antifreeze.

These are the best UA-cam videos.. I love them
0:20 Surprised me. It's perfectly legal in France and in England for example. But there are conditions: The baby seat needs to be facing back as in the video. It needs to be properly attached to the car seat either with the seat belt or anchors when equipped. The passenger front airbag needs to be deactivated. And of course, as always, the baby has to be attached in his seat.
In Spain it's forbidden, even with airbag disabled. You can only do this if you have a two seater
It depends on the state, most states rather have you keep the child in the back seats rather than in the front passenger seat for safety reasons.
Illegal where I live. That's why I was so surprised and showed the clip but everywhere is different.
That pvc valve clogged almost sounded like the engine reving higher and higher XD

and a trailer with the hook still on it, sliding into the neighbours' garage door... thus becoming part of the fail army family.
I'm surprised nobody commented on the infancy of a the infant car seat up against the passenger side airbag. That's a huge, huge no no
I don't know if that's a thing in american cars. But in almost every european car you can disable Passenger airbag fairy easy, so you can put baby seat like that. And i think, that this feature is specifically to do just that.
@@marekpostawa5267 American cars usually have a weight sensor that disables the airbag if there is not enough weight on it, or deploy at a lower intensity. Problem is that sensor isn't infallible, and there isn't a backup way to disable it manually. Also, most cars do not detect weight under about 30 pounds and (depending on the car) may still deploy the airbag in a collision. Also, if you ever get in a side impact collision, the side curtain airbag can still injure the infant. This is why it is drilled into people that you should always put the infant car seat in the middle of the back row if at all possible.
Would you rather the parent be leaning back into the back seat to tend to the child?
It's only a problem because politicians, many who haven't driven a car since 1972, thought they knew the best way to do things and wrote it into law.
@@Crosshair84 the reason this got banned, was pretty simple, they learned the air bag going off can decapitate babies.
Well no one from Europe commented because over here this is just regular practice as you take your car key, disable the airbags on the front passenger side as it is shown in the manual that comes with your car and that’s about it …. nothing to comment there

You know, I'm not the type to audibly react to things i see in these videos. But will admit, front seat baby seat was pretty shocking
Front seat baby seats are normal here in the Netherlands/Belgium etc, but every car I've ever driven has a switch to turn off that airbag specifically for this reason
@@gideonwackers7693 that's fairly interesting
I don't get the 2nd one. All (most?) cars, that I know, have a way to deactivate the passenger airbag exactly for this use. In most cases this is done with a switch that can be turned with the car key and in all cases (that I know of) there is an indicating light at the dashboard for this. So this should be perfectly fine.
You can, but depending on what state or country your in its illegal to do. In many state in America, you aren't allowed to keep children under a certain age in the front passenger seat for safety reasons. Atleast in the states I've lived in, even if you can turn off the airbag which everyone can do. And even in other countries in Europe like Spain your not allowed to do this unless you have a two seater only car.
It's illegal where I live. Also the visor with the warning labels specifically says not to put a rear facing child seat in the front. Airbag on or off, I don't know why somebody would put a baby in the front seat.
@@JustRolledIn Thanks for the clarification. Where I live, it's only illegal (and stupid of course), if you don't deactivate the airbag.
Your other question I would like to turn around. Why wouldn't I place the child seat on the passenger seat? It's often more convenient, especially when you have a car with smaller doors for the back seats (or just two doors at all). It can be lot easier to place and secure the child, if you have easier access through a bigger door. And leaning into the car and "working" on the back seat, if you only have front doors, is very inconvenient to say the least. :-)
The fan boat on the back of the trailer pushing the truck a genius👍🏾💯

Somebody mentioned it and he said, "It does add more power."
I've been laughing at that ever since.
Then he takes both valve covers off, and, with a half inch impact, tightens the rockers down as much as he could. We asked him what he was doing. He said something about the book said to do it this way.
When he tried starting it. Nothing. We had to convince him he messed his engine up.he took the rockets off and every push rod was bent along with some valves.
And he wanted to be a mechanic.
It was a pile of 50 rats in a trench coat.
People who sell a known broken vehicle as not broken deserve to stub their toe on a regular basis
With an 8-pound sledge hammer ;-)
And get their belt loops hooked on doors.
Unless the guy blew it on day one by beating on it.
@@neilkurzman4907 those cars are known for Atracting bad drivers, seems about right if he buys a Car without a pre inspection.

Well hopefully if the owner can afford to buy it they can afford to fix it.
Another banger!! Nice one!
Hope all is well buddy!
I discovered this channel recently and watched a few clips. I can't believe what people do to their cars!
0:15 - What's the floor panel made out of, or how fast was that guy going? These should have mandatory skid plates... that add even more weight and reduce range.
Seriously, how much is that gonna cost the guy to replace?
It's a $2000 deductible the customer has to pay his insurance company I was told.
I seem to recall reading somewhere Tesla battery units run about US$10,000. Not sure if that's the pack itself or with removal, installation, and disposal etc. And that's completely ignoring that there could be warranty options, I honestly don't know myself.
I wonder if they also heard "a loud noise" when they drove over the huge rock that punched its way into the battery? :-))
There's a gouge leading up to the rock, so it wasn't kicked up at speed. I'd guess they drove over some kind of curved surface that happened to have a rock in the wrong spot, so instead of just scraping the crest, they jammed a rock into the bottom. If the rock was bigger, they might have gotten stuck on it.
The floor panel is made out of steel. Teslas are not made to off road.
That first clip makes one wonder about how that process will work if Tesla really starts incorporating the battery pack into a proper structural element like they have been talking about. (idk if they have done this with any of their models yet, can't say I gobble up every bit of news that comes out of Tesla, but I do remember Musk talking rather proudly about doing this in the future, not that long ago)
One of the benefits of a battery pack, i.e. something that is essentially a bolt on part and comes with all of the convenience of being one, is that it is far easier to remove than something which is a structural member though by being bolt on, it increases the weight which is why Tesla likes that idea of making the battery part of the structure, but..... Even if they come out with a battery that can work great for 10 or 15 years or more (or whatever the expected lifespan of the car actually is), what happens in a situation like the one shown here? Is it simply to scrap the vehicle for something that would be repairable in other cases? Doesn't that go against the whole reason for EVs in the first place?
Being structural doesn't mean impossible to replace. It probably just means more bolts to remove, and more care in lifting the chassis correctly.
@@logitech4873 Not impossible sure. But unless they come up with a novel method of replacing them that isn't bad, it will mean it will be a pain in the ass.
That is the most creative use of a swamp buggy I have ever seen.
Great videos keep them coming and some of them kill me too lol 😆 😂 🤣 😄
Always test drive cars before you buy em. That M5 is pretty much totaled now.
Maybe he owns an airboat. 😬
@@yestfmf 😂🤣😂🤣 That would be the cheaper option that’s for sure!!!
The Tesla owner was lucky that ruptured cells didn't ignite🔥🔥🔥
What does everyone think that every bit of damage to a Tesla results in a raging fire in an explosion?
Okay, that airboat clip is kind of brilliant. That's some serious ingenuity, props to them.
..lol..that last clip..you have to hand it to them it worked and was ingenious..
