    Awesome video, I'm waiting on my OWK4 Weathered now. Using Saberbay chassis for Proffie, and did a BT630 since idh as much space but otherwise a pretty similar build. Doing this one simpler than my ANH Graflex build. That one I printed my own removable chassis that i also painted, did a recharge port, OLED and lit Crystal Chamber with 15 fonts. That build almost did me in. This one should be a lot easier. Also have a KR Desert Wanderer with Goth3d Master Chassis being built by Jon at Sabers Forever. Gonna use the same Config for both, just with Kyberphonics "The Rematch Ben" as it's first font vs "Old Ben" as the first on this saber. Now I just need a Ep 1 hilt and OWK3 and will have the complete Obi Wan set done.

    One Idea I had for thin neck sabers to make them Suitable for Dueling is. So you see how the Neck can separate itself from the Grenade Grip, it'd be cool if the saber also came with a thicker neck made for very heavy contact dueling so it won't bend. Then you use a Pogo pin connector at the base where the neck meets the Grenade grip and the Thin neck would be for Neo-pixel display & Accuracy purposes, while the thick neck would be a base lit LED so you just use a hollow tube blade & don't damage an expensive Neo-pixel blade for heavy contact lightsaber dueling.

    Hello thank you for the nice video! I have one very important question and I really hope you will see this. I have already ordered a soundboard to upgrade my cheap RGB lightsaber with 3 soundfonts to a lightsaber with Smooth Swing and better sound fonts. My plan was to switch the old soundboard with the new one. Now I realised that my lightsaber doesn't really have an extra soundboard. There is only one circuit board in the lightsaber which every calbe goes to and it also has the button and the charging port on it. What do I do now? Is this still possible?
    Thank you for your help!

    • @Technicallyaddicted
      @Technicallyaddicted Рік тому

      Unfortunately no. I had to bust out my micrometer for this one: the dimensions of typical RGBCW neopixel is: 13mm(contact to contact), 11mm, and 3.7mm(at LED assembly). It is too wide to fit through the opening. What you could do is use a “blade connector” and run only the wire through the skinny emitter neck. It’s going to make your blade feel a little bit “floppy” because you won’t have enough mass behind the fulcrum(the emitter) to provide counterbalance.

    • @averycastillo

      They allow for different levels of power, and some parts need very little power so it’s pointless and sometimes harmful to use larger awg on them. Same with using a smaller awg on something that needs more power, it won’t work efficiently or at all

    Hey so I've been wondering for a good Anakin lightsaber. I've been looking at the legacy one for 220 bucks and I'm working my way up there. Do you have any advice or suggestions for a good or cheaper but still good Anakin ROTS lightsaber?

    • @averycastillo
      @averycastillo  2 роки тому

      I highly recommend to save up for an empty hilt. You won’t regret it, because it’ll be significantly higher quality than the ones disney makes. Then save up enough to have someone install it for you, or you can install it yourself!
      You’ll get the most out of your saber, have a incredibly high quality saber with an amazing hilt and electronics. It’ll be much more worth your time than getting a cheaper saber now.
      For an Anakin ROTS saber, go to Korbanth, 7chambers lightsabers, or SaberBay

    • @averycastillo
      @averycastillo  Рік тому +1

      Definitely! You’d just need to choose the proffie version of the chassis. The bluetooth module can be added to proffie, but it doesn’t currently do as much as CFX with bluetooth. Right now you can only control the saber on the app, while CFX you can do that plus edit the entire saber on your phone or other apps

    • @averycastillo
      @averycastillo  8 місяців тому +1

      Welcome! I’d say the best places to get an empty hilt to install would first be TheSaberArmory, and then what you can’t find there head to Korbanth. They’re my favorite places to go, you can also try SaberBay too for some additional hilts. There are many places ti find different empty hilts to install, but those are my favorites outside of limited runs on therpf or specialty high accuracy hilts. If you want the most accurate replica, you’ll need to do some research since no 1 place makes all the most accurate replicas. RomanProps makes the most accurate Obi-Wan Ep 4 for example, and 7chambers makes the most accurate Luke ROTJ hero saber

    Hypothetically speaking if I bought an empty RoTS anakin hilt and a prebuilt chassis and neopixel blade could I just slide in the chassis or would I need to get connectors?

    • @averycastillo
      @averycastillo  Рік тому

      If that existed you could just put it in and it’d work. But you won’t find any pre built chassis for an anakin lightsaber, unless you get one of those cheaper mass produced lightsabers with a universal chassis system. Which always screws up the hilt’s button placement and accuracy

    • @averycastillo

      It’ll always be cheaper to build your own than to buy the exact same thing pre-built 😁
      For example, if you were to buy the saber from this video pre-built it would be a few hundred dollars more expensive than if you built this exact thing yourself. That’s because you don’t have to pay for the labor costs, only the parts costs.
      The only thing to keep in mind is the added cost of getting the tools you need, but if you keep those to the bare minimum you can still be under the cost of a pre-built. Plus, if you ever want to make another lightsaber, since you have all the tools you can save even more on your next build

      More importantly, in my opinion, is getting a good soldering iron cleaner. I have a brass wool thing. Never use a sponge, like some things give you. Use the brass wool, it will extend your iron’s life significantly

    I noticed you mentioned the most annoying part is splitting the 2 negs into four channels. I actually used to do this too but I recently discovered you don't need to wire to all the channels, two is fine if your wire is thick enough, ~24 AWG

    • @averycastillo
      @averycastillo  Рік тому +1

      Yeah? No drawbacks? I never figured out why it’s split into 4 channels to begin with, other than something to do with color channels since there’s RGBW capabilities. But I can’t wrap my brain around why or how that’d work 😂
      I’ll have to give that a try, because that is my least favorite part of cfx hahaha

      You can build one on the cheap for about $400, but you’ll get a prettier blade for $600, and for $1,000 you’ll have a one of a kind lightsaber that no one else on earth has.

      I can’t make you one for free, but I can recommend that if you really want one to find a way to save up for one. That’s what I did, and it’s benefited my life greatly learning how to set goals and reach them through creative means or hard work. If you really want something, find a way to make it happen.
      I worked and did full time college to afford to live and pay for my hobbies. The whole reason I went into the work force was to fund my lightsaber hobby xD But if you really want a saber from me, the most beneficial way to go about it would be to come up with a way to afford one in a financially stable way
