  • The legendary Whoopi Goldberg joins Bob to tackle the big subjects - everything from what we as humanity are going through on a global scale to how to remain positive during dark times. Bob talks about why he thinks The View is especially important right now. Plus, Whoopi shares a story Bob has been dying to know for years - how she came to play Oda Mae in Ghost. And it's a good one.

    About the Podcast:
BOB SAGET’S HERE FOR YOU is a podcast that is like no other- Because it goes inside Bob’s Saget’s mind, and then quickly filters out through his mouth. Bob has a way of calming people with genuine empathy and humor while they’re going through a difficult time, which we all are at present. Reaching his unusually diverse audience that he talks to as a friend, Bob is the dad with great advice, the irreverent funny guy who’s always there when you need a laugh, and the free-associative Bob who goes off on crazy tangents then returns to the subject at hand, as serious or as comedic as it may be, to wrap up each episode in a way only Bob can do. Because he really does believe, “He’s here for you."

I found these podcasts within hours of his death. I’ve now gone down a rabbit hole with them. He was truly happy doing these podcasts, married to Kelly and doing his 2022 tour.
He had a fantastic set, he spoke to his wife for hours, posted that lovely final post before laying down to sleep permanently 🕊 🕯

What was his last routine like. Was it always filthy or had he grown into real humour real comedy. Filth isn't a talent but comedy is a challenge a gift if you got it you got it if you don't you may be the only one who doesn't know your NOT funny
It takes some intellect and insight. Dave Chappell is simply genius and so funny. Naughty is funny but gutter filth takes no talent no skill. Unfortunately there is a market for it just like the market for child porn. Doesnt make it a talent or gift. Just sayin. Some body killed this man not for his money or talent either. What an unfortunate man.

@@fearandloathing75 whats interesting his ULTRA RAUNCHY PROFANITY RIDDEN routines were actually more of a shock value thing he did in the 2000s, he always had dirty humor but was more witty with his humor and rarely cussed excessively in the earlier routines in the 80s until after full house ended(you can watch his stand up on the rodney dangerfield special), but I'd like to think he has grown so much more recently

This episode was so amazing!! Bob and whoppi Goldberg have impacted my life in ways nobody would understand. She's a black woman with a daughter and he's a white Jewish man with three beautiful daughters as well. They have both had different experiences throughout their careers and always spoke their opinions and have said how they felt regardless of the consequences!! This interview took place in the early days of the Corona Virus Pandemic. You can tell how they openly and honestly addressed how they both feel about racism and religion. I was just about to write how I believe there is a correlation between critical race theory and religion. Here's my personal belief and philosophy on the matter but just for clarification call it my thesis statement. I believe there is a correlation between critical race theory and religion because people have their own internal and external racial and religious biases.
Thank you to both of you for ways I could never personally thank you enough for.
Whoppi I still can't believe Bob is gone it has been three weeks yesterday I tried to focus on other things but you you know how he said you understand him because the two of you are both comedians. That's how I felt about him. He understood me in ways nobody could. Just like you whoppi you understood me in ways nobody could. When skickel died whoppi you spoke at his funeral. I looked it up a few weeks ago!! You said exactly what you felt at the time I sad to the TV when he died what happened to the movie other movie man!! Whoppi I'm taking his death hard because he had ways of coping mechanisms and ways of coping with things in ways that I did as well. He said in a previous podcast episode on this channel someone understood his neurosis. Well my disability is based on my numerological functionality and it is without a doubt in tact but I digress.
As a 34 year old woman I just turned 34 a little over a month ago I feel like Bob raised me because he has daughters that are the same age and younger than me!! I miss him so much!!
At the time this episode was filmed I was getting treatment for my anxiety and depression.
I feel like he spoke honestly and transparently about how mental health issues are not properly addressed and they can affect anyone.
Mental health issues can affect all people of all ages races ethnicities and genders.
I'm also glad he talked about his oldest sister who was diagnosed with sczhophophenia. Not many people know their are many types of different forms or variations of sczhophophenia. There are also different phases of sczhophophenia. For example one phase of sczhophophenia that I find most interesting is the residual phase. I believe the residual phase of sczhophophenia has correlational effect based one different trauma a person might experience in their lives. There are a few others but who ever reads my comment they can look the different phases of sczhophophenia up for themselves.
I love how Bob said he doesn't see race because when I meet people I based my ability on how I would act with them based on their actions and how they treat me as a person. How people treat me as a person correlates with empathy which whoppi mentioned throughout this video. Empathy is so important because I have a disability called cerebral palsy. To put it simply it a form of brain damage which can change depending on alot of things during gestation and pregnancy and other factors even things like smoking but each case of cerebral palsy is different and can vary throughout the body and may impact how one's limbs on their can and will be used throughout their lives.
I love you whoppi and Bob!! This has to be my favorite episode of the podcast thus far. I felt like I was in school. I learned from two people that taught me so much at throughout my life and early childhood. Thank you Bob and whoppi Goldberg for being apart of my life and teaching me things I could never forget!!
Whoppi you talked about how Patrick Swayze wanted you in ghost and only him and one other casting director / person wanted you in the movie. I believe they were the only two people that wanted you in the movie because the other people involved in the movie has implict and explict biases formed from societal belief of a specific stereotype that all black woman are loud. Please whoppi correct me if I'm wrong if you happen to come across this comment.
I love you both Bob and whoppi thanks for making me feel like I went to class today even though I'm not registered for this semester yet. I'm also happy we have the president, vice president and cabinet we do now. We are literally a little over a year into the Biden administration and I couldn't be happier!!
I just wish I could have found out about this podcast before you died Bob!! I love you I promise to help Ms. Kramer raise your girls because I know you loved them just as much as you loved me because I was trying like one of your children!! Continue to watch over me from Heaven!! I love you always and forever!!💕💕🙏🙏😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥🙏🙏🙏🙏💕💕💕💕

I adore this woman, I have since I was in high school when I saw her one woman show on HBO in 1980. She was both hilarious and brought tears to my eyes in one show. I didn't know a comedian could do that so I didn't quite know what I was watching. She featured four characters who presented a slice of their life. One, named Fontaine, was a junkie who stumble upon the Anne Frank house and goes in to see the place where she lived. I was blown away by the performance. I found out later that we shared a similar type of dyslexia and had struggled through school, too. Despite the difficulty she had with learning differently, She was able to let her voice sing. She is a person who I'd love to meet, if only to say that she helped me to see that the brass ring on the merry-go-round of life was available to me just like anyone else. Thank you Bob for the great interview. Cheers, brother.

What she achieved in her life showed me that I needn't be define by a disability and it's limitations. Whoopie has been a loud annoyance since the early 80s and it's served her well. I hope you're using your loud mouth to similar success.

My Grandmother, on my fathers side, died of scleroderma back in the early 80s, bless her heart. This is a ruthless and cruel disease. The one thing I remember was that she would melt a bowl of hot wax and put it on her hands so she could get some relief and movement out of them. I also remember how her hands looked, you could literally see her skin tightening on them to the point of non-comprehension. I appreciate your work on this disease that most never heard of! When someone says they don't understand racism... is it that they don't understand why someone would be racist or do things to make racism possible - because you certainly understand that it happens - and can point it out when it happens. And you see me - what people my deem - a white guy. But in my family history is Chinese, Maori, English, Dutch and Irish. You cannot see the Chinese or Maori in my features... but with such a mixed heritage; race means less to me. I married a Japanese lady, so my kids are half Japanese and half me. So I lived in Japan for 22 years... and I will say that the majority of Japanese are not racist. But I did face discrimination from not being Japanese. And all I could undersand is that somewhere in the culture there is a pride in being Japanese and a belief that Japanese are better than other people. And the government has institutions that treat non-Japanese differently. Interestingly when I applied for my Permanent Residence - I was also given the option of taking Japanese Citizenship... then recently I heard that it is now very difficult to get Japanese Citizenship. I didn't apply for citizenship, as I wanted to maintain my citizenship in my birth country. So in the past 10 years, things have shifted to be less welcoming of non Japanese. So even though I look white, I can understand what it feels like to face discrimination based on race. So I have empathy for people of all colors that face discrimination. I would support BLM more, except for the underlying communist/socialist tones of the movement. I believe in social justice... but very left wing socialism is also a threat to freedom and human rights. Look at history, look at the CCP today. And Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors said in a newly surfaced video from 2015 that she and her fellow organizers are “trained Marxists”. So I want to get behind social justice movements, but not a Marxist Revolution.
