Just a tip for using steam! If your using steam to set a wig, it helps of steam it once holding the steamer very close to the hair, and then place a plastic bag over it and steaming it again so the steam won’t blow away and will circulate the wig, and then leave it for a few hours. If it’s still not dry then use a hair dryer of medium heat to dry the hair the rest of the way. Also, you NEVER want to brush a synthetic wig with a normal hair brush or it will get frizzy and tangled. I recommend using a wig brush or a tail comb to brush out a synthetic wig The style you did on this wig is incredible!!! You did such an amazing job!!!!! Best regards!! ❤️
That was quite the process!! I can't wait to see how it looks on. When you brushed out the curls and it went fluffy...it looked exactly like my Barbie dolls hair whenever I try to style it!
Wow, 10 outta 10 for perseverance my friend! You did incredibly well on that long wig! I would deffo like to see more wig styling videos doll! Loving the outfits too bubs! Beautiful! Xxx
Wow! You have patience of Jobe. All your hard work and determination definitely paid off. It reminds me a lot of Rita Hayworth's hair in Gilda. I would very much like to see the cutting and restyling of this wig videos. P.S. You always look so feminine and stylish.
I know that she was a nightmare to work with, but the final result is absolutely gorgeous! 😍 And I really admire your perseverance in seeing the style through! 👍 I think the reason the steaming might not have worked is because the heat didn't penetrate the hair. When I've seen other people using that technique, they usually spend an excessive amount of time holding the steamer on each curl so the steam penetrates all the way through to the roller. And that's usually on much shorter wigs with much less hair. I've also seen people place a plastic bag over the entire wig while doing this step to trap the heat in as they move around the wig. After all, the point of steaming is to heat a wig safely, not necessarily just making the hair damp all the way through. I think you might really enjoy a drag queen named Jaymes Mansfield. She makes videos on UA-cam styling wigs of all shapes, sizes, and qualities into big beautiful vintage inspired styles. Her videos are entertaining and educational on the topic of wig styling. 😁
Thanks lady! Yeah I have styled wigs with steaming before and I did use a bag and steam it longer. At that point it was my fault for not researching the heat limits on the wig and when I was steaming, I was afraid to hold it too close to the hair because I thought I saw one of the hairs start to melt. Lessons learned 😂 I’ll check out that channel. Thanks!
Definitely should use human hair wigs if your planning on styling it like this. They are pretty expensive but take alot less work and last much longer.
Thats actually not true synthetic actually lasts forever unlike human hair which is prone to shedding regardless of price or quility of hair its still gonna shed its till gonna damadge from heat chemicals and environmental causes . Im a licenced hair stylist so i know these things i also know for a fact drag queens such as rupaul perfure synthetic becuase of that fact and its cheaper yes even drag queens with bookoo bucks love cheap cus thats how they keep there money. RuPaul has the same synthetic wigs for over 20 years
Use a plastic bag over the bag over the wig when using the steamer. That way the steam will circulate around the wig more evenly. Then place under a hair dryer to dry. Then you must leave it to cool down fully when doing Synthetic hair like this. 😊
I’m surprised the steamer didn’t work... usually works pretty good, even on human hair. Next time just make sure it’s completely cool before taking out the rollers? Looks great!
I have that same sea foam ladyshick hairdryer. Shame you don’t live in the uk I have 100’s of setting rollers all sizes you could of had as many as you wanted. Great job 👍🏼⭐️
Next time a steamer is good, but pull a solid noncolored plastic bag ober the head so the steam stays much longer and compact on the roller set. Steam for 5-10min and let the bag on it for 1h to cool down... then let it dry over night. ;)
It looks cute so far! What brand is the wig if you don't mind me asking..I kind of want to get one and wondering if you are gonna sell this one when you're done?
I know it’s a bit late to offer advice but seriously follow drag queens who predominantly do wig styling tutorials. I highly recommend Jaymes Mansfield. She tends to do vintage inspired wigs. I probably wouldn’t do as much teasing as he does for his wigs for an everyday look but otherwise his techniques for setting and styling have been a godsend.
Next time you boil the wig after making the coils. You roll it up then you put it in a pot of hot water and conditioner. Same when you wanna straightening it to avoid the tangles.
Ha! I have so many synthetic wigs and I was looking up how to do hollywood waves. I like getting glammed up, so happy I found your channel💗 I love you ( and your videos Vintage Diva 👸) I'm going to try! Neciahairstyling on Instagram has my favorite already styled wigs. She is based in the UK but ships to the United States :) If you want to splurge on a synthetic wig try her!
Oh my you were a trooper. All your outfits were just darling, even jammies.
Thanks so much! 😅I had to be comfortable there at the end!

Oh nice!! I do like that dryer. I’ve used it multiple times.

It looks cute so far! What brand is the wig if you don't mind me asking..I kind of want to get one and wondering if you are gonna sell this one when you're done?
What are you spraying it with? Just hair spray?
Do you have to use special wig spray?..... :)

Would you sell something like her despite the tangling?
The best way to defanged the curls would have been with your hand to avoid tangling as much. But you did great❤️
Have you watched the Netflix show Hollywood it takes place in the early 40s I feel you’d love it
Synthetic wigs curl nicely if you put the hair in curlers, soak it in really hot water and let dry.
How long do you soak it in the water?
Next time you boil the wig after making the coils. You roll it up then you put it in a pot of hot water and conditioner. Same when you wanna straightening it to avoid the tangles.
Oh interesting! I’ll try that thanks!
for any future syntetic wig videos, go watch onlinekyne video on setting a wig
I’ll check it out thanks!
oh lacy plz make more of these styling videos try shorter wigs
Ok will do! I do plan on some shorter ones in the future.
Reminds me of a Mae West wig.
I think standing pincurls would work better

I wasn't referring to this particular video. Sorry honey.
You should have got a short wig too
Can you link the wig you bought?
I just added the link in the description.
You have to steam synthetic wigs girl
Omg yea just leave it till you wear it 🙈
There are human hair wigs on Etsy. I have alopecia and I pay for handmade very expensive wigs.
Get a human hair wig. You can control it better and dye it.
This was the most exhausting video that I’ve seen in a long time. Can you please make a video of you doing your own here?
Haha it was exhausting to make for sure! I have several videos on my channel styling my own hair. Hope that helps!
Laci Fay The Vintage Girl Next Door thanks! I just subscribed and hit the bell. Looking forward to watching more.
Heaux Magick I’m so glad! Welcome!
