Your interview with “In The Know” popped up in my recommended and I had to watch. I’m not exaggerating when I say I shed a couple of tears because your entire lifestyle and aesthetic made me really happy.
My 8 yr old daughter and I love watching your videos. Really enjoy seeing your elegant and unique style. Thrifting is a talent, I struggle to find cute things but you make it look so easy! Love your calm voice and your makeup is always so meticulous!
My God, this Channel and this Lady is so freaking awesome! I can't help but tell you this quick little story! I jokingly make comments and jokes about taking everything back to the June Cleaver days, and low in behold, I seen your video on My Unconventional Life, and was hooked every since! Keep it up, do you, its your life so live it well! If not just show them how to be a Lady, you've gone back to the roots of being a Lady!
I had no idea you had a child! It makes me happy to see other moms who like vintage style! You are completely right, having time to look nice is just about prioritizing. Plus a good dose of experience that makes your routine go by faster, and outfit planning the night before. I always find it funny when people look at my hair and say "Wow, you must spend a lot of time getting ready!" and I tell them I got me and my 4 year old ready in less than 30 minutes, it's all about practice.
Loved hearing the furniture story .....A true "meant to be" just for you ! It's such a great feeling to find your treasure. May you find everything your heart desires. There is so much vintage abundance out there!
My mother ALWAYS wore skirts even when doing housework. Katherine did all of the housework typical of mothers from the 60s and prior. With 5 children she was busy all day long which may be why she maintained an hourglass figure coupled with a healthy diet. She often prepared her long auburn hair like Audrey Hepburn since she looked soooo much like her plus Shanai Twain. Laci is a sweetheart reminding me of many of the girls in my high school back in the late 60s. They all wore skirts, weren't over weight and behaved politely/shy.
I think you are the real deal Laci. I love it that you are your self. If more people could learn to be who they really are they would not get sick before their time.
I been watching your vidoes for sometime. I just love your videos. I was born in 1958 so I missed out on the 50s. Lol but I've always loved everthing bout 50s. My mother wore beautiful dresses with gloves an a little hat she had one I seen in a picture it was brown with little white flowers she had white gloves on an white heels an a little white hat she was so beautiful her hair was natural black an curlie. I just love your furniture an everthing bout you. Your so pretty. I seen a movie last nite call Not Wanted from 1949 an the lady had hair styles just like the way you did yours. Keep up the good videos.
Hi Laci! I see this an older video... Wow! Can't believe you got that whole furniture set for 60$! Btw - I have the same Fifties book I see on your shelf! I always loved blue but now turquoise or teal. I appreciate Anchors Aweigh in the background. I am come from a Navy family background.
I feel like we are old friends after that Q&A lovely! Would love to see a video of your vintage magazines & vintage inspiring books you have. You look flawless as ever ...Mwah! Xxx
A She’s the Man movie quote? Awesome! And it was in answer to a question about fighting. Just priceless and perfect. And Miss Congeniality too! Haha Love your videos! ♥️ and I am chomping ice while watching, so I apologize. It’s probably so loud you can hear it 3yrs later and from Omaha to wherever you are haha XO
You do you, Laci! I’ve ALWAYS wanted to be a 50’s girl. Bobby socks, poodle skirt and cardigan. I grew up listening to 50’s and 60’s music. I live and breathe it. Would absolutely love for malt shops and soda jerks to exist again. You’re doing it all good. Live your dream. Thank you, Laci!
Ive binge watched your channel now, and I want so badly to see a photo of you looking modern. I wanna know how you look in todays clothes and straight hair. 😁
I would love to live in America in the 1950s. My grandparents were also married in the 50s, but we live in Norway and we didn't find oil until the 60s so the 50s over here weren't so great lol.
As soon as you said you listen to Broadway Cast Recordings and love Harry Potter I knew I had to say something. I am a major theatre nerd and I love Harry Potter but my whole family absolutely loves the fifties. My sister and I share a room and it is 50s Hollywood themed. I am in high school and ever since I was little I’ve adored everything 50s. My family and I have tons of old black and white films and have the entire I love Lucy Series on DVD. Your “In the Know” interview came up in my recommended and I have just been watching your channel non stop since. I love dressing vintage or have outfits giving off a vintage vibe and seeing your channel has given me more confidence to be me. You are an inspiration and I absolutely love you and your channel! I am now subscribed to your channel. ❤️
Tracy Warman I will for sure do one eventually. There’s a few things I want to do first. I really want to replace the vinyl tiles in my kitchen, etc. before I do it. It’s coming though!
I lived through the 50s and 60s and love that whole style and decor vibe. I especially love the late 50s to early 60s, before the psychedelic era. I love your videos, your style and home decor, especially the kitchen ! So my favorite movie from the early 60s is Where The Boys Are, with Delores Hart, Paula Prentiss, Jim Hutton, Connie Francis and Yvette Mimeux. It’s a must-see !
I just followed! You are so cool. I love your hair. I love your make up. I love musicals, cats, Harry Potter and antiquing. It sounds dorky but my husband has been a vintage Gillette safety razor collection for years. I adore incorporating old items into my home and style. My mother even owns a vintage furniture shop. We go to auction and find gorgeous pieces. It’s amazing to find you channel and seeing others finding beauty in older fashions. 👍🏻
I hope I didn’t leave to many comments laci. I just happened upon your lovely channel not long ago and u are just so positive and charming and just a joy to watch that I find myself making time to watch more and more because it’s just fascinating how you live the way you do your comfortable. And you are just you. I have never made so many comments to any one channel but there just isn’t a channel out there like urs and I have now found myself looking up vintage stuff and wow a whole world I have been missing let me tell ya. If I have said to much please let me know and I will hold back my comments.
I found your channel by accident. I love the vintage style also. My house was built in 1961 and I still have the original bathrooms from when it was built. My hall bath still has the original pink sink tub and toilet in Venetian Pink (or Mamie Pink after Mamie Eisenhower). Hopefully when you do the tour we can see the pink bathroom
The old style movie theater in our town would play White Christmas every year and every year I would find someone to go with me. No one wanted to go twice, if you can believe that! I loved sitting in the balcony and seeing it on the big screen. They gave out candy canes when you left.
Finding this video right now definitely brought some joy to my day ❤ I'd watched several of your videos earlier today. Tomorrow I have to return to the hospital. Physical challenges aren't easy. Yet, the sunshine you bring is so appreciated. There's a calmness within you that comes through. Thank you, Laci.
Is that quote from Miss Congeniality? Do you like the movie Pleasantville? Definitely one of my favs. The vintage look isn't for me but I love it on other people who can really rock it. I do love the vintage bakeware, appliances, and anything teal!
I just found your chanel today and Im also addicted to vintage/antique plus... OHEMGEE Raising Arizona and The wedding singer are my favorite movies! I also had "Clueless" clothes in highschool... We also have the same pet peeve. So cool to find you! Hello from Maryland 😁
The story of your furniture set is AMAZING! I think the best cost-to-worth thing I've ever found was actually a dress that was given to me that is from the designer Ceil Chapman and it's worth somewhere around $500-$1,000. I was stunned when I looked it up online! Also I just love watching your videos so much! They make me wish even more that we lived in the same neighborhood so we could thrift together and just be friends IRL too.
The Eyre Effect we couldn’t believe it for months. I still can’t when I think about it. The very vintage furniture set we were looking for ended up on the side of the road in our small Southern Utah town!! That is so neat about that dress! It’s gorgeous! You are the sweetest! I feel the exact same way!! I’m so glad the internet has brought us together, but I wish we could be friends and hang out IRL as well!! Maybe sometime we can take a big road trip. Or meet at a vintage event like Dapper Day!
You are FABULOUS!!! I am also obsessed with the 50’s and all things vintage! Love, love, love you! ❤️ My parents were married in 1962 and I love their entire story!
My mom began her life has a housewife in the late 50s, and according to pictures and the stories she has told, women were so put together, stylish, and chic. The women during that time would NEVER have been caught out of the house in their pj’s the way people do now. Ha ha. On another note, where I live there is a vintage ice crean shop called Pop’s and a movie theater called The Grandin Theatre, both in Roanoke, Virginia. You should look them up online. I think you’d especially like the theatre since you work in one. 😊
Maybe not in their pajamas but, as a woman born in the very early 50s, I clearly remember seeing women of all ages in the grocery store wearing "curlers" or a bobby pin set! I know my mom did it. But PJs? Never!
Miss Congeniality. Ha ha. So glad I found you! I love Wicked, Harry Potter, and so far, every video of yours that I've watched. Thanks for sharing. You truly are inspiring me in something I have wanted to do for a long time, and I am realizing that it is affordable!
One of my favorite stories my dad used to tell was about a place between Albany and Eugene Oregon. It was a little bar / Cafe / Dancehall out in the middle of nowhere. It would get all the top name people.. both Country and contemporary. Anyone from Johnny Cash to Elvis Presley. Very small venue. Only the locals knew about it. This is before they were huge names. It was on the way to Portland so they would stop there for a few extra bucks. Could you imagine that? On Saturday night getting someone when like that EVERY Saturday night.??
@@LaciFayTheVintageGirlNextDoor I know! I first thought he was making the story up. It sound like one of those movie plots, but it's true! They closed it down in the sixties when the Beatles hit. All those stars and names took a backseat to British pop. But they did! They got to know all the top Stars before anybody else.
I love watching your videos. Your style is beautiful from the way your hair is styled to all the cute 50ish dresses you wear and you pair your outfits with this item which is one of my favorite item that you collect an that you wear daily.....yep👏🏻😻Your beautiful broaches you wear!!! I love the 50’s area it is my all time favorite as well as the early to mid 60’s. I also love the way your home is beautifully decorated and I also like antiquing and thrifting. So watching you and seeing your fantastic vintage pieces you find is one of my favorite channels Please Keep them coming and happy treasure hunting 🕷👗🚀5️⃣0️⃣📻💄🛋📺🥿👛👔🧥🥣
It’s nice to hear what are your favorites! I love your spin glass vases in the background! I’m on the hunt to find a few! I but with this virus I am not allowed to go to yard sales and stores! Oh well 😔 I need to stay safe!
It would be funny if Marty McFly jumped in his time machine to go to from yhe 50s back to 1985 and wound up at your house. He'd be like, dang it it didn't work LOL
I just love your videos, so happy and positive. I seriously love the 1950s look! I even have two reproduction pinup girl tops on lay buy at a beautiful pin up girl style shop in my town, it is amazing! So after the lock down I will finally have them. I even have a high wasted skirt to go with them. 😊
I have the same hair color and skin tone as you so I am so excited to see red lipsticks that would look good on me! I can never find a red that would look right for me thank you ☺
I do have one planned soon. In the meantime, here is a link to my episode of “My Unconventional Life” that shows a bit of my home. www.aol.com/video/show/My-Unconventional-Life/SHW260/
They are called "seamed stockings".During WW II when there was a shortage of nylon/silk for the war effort, ladies would draw a line on the back of their leg to give the illusion of seamed stockings!!
I absolutely love your life style! I absolutely love the time period and have always been fascinated in that particular time period from anywhere from clothing to cars to items. I'm new to your channel, but have you by chance done a "Day in my life video"? If not, could you do one, Im curious in what you would do.
Im so happy to have found your channel Im so in love with pin-ups and victory rolls that I do that here…in Japan😲😍💖 Doing a marathon of your videos now and would surely follow you all the way!!! Cant wait to see your adventures. Stay beautiful and confident lady 💖from Japan
When you were talking about favorite movies I thought you’d talk about 1950’s movies. I love classic movies the best. Cary Grant, Doris Day, David Niven, Rick Hudson etc. I could go on and on😀
That was a neat statement about Raising Arizona. The original Star Wars and Transformers: the Movie are my main ones I quote. I am also pretty fond of the 80s as well as the 50s. Also, I love kitty cats! =D Be well and stay safe out there!
LOL! I love that quote from Miss Congeniality! Has to be one of my favorite movies definitely top 20! PS... have you ever seen Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream Home? Cary Grant and Myrna Loy ... definitely my top 5!
Laci Fay The Vintage Girl Next Door So you like the 1950s? My favorite decade before I was born is the 1960s, because there was a lot of monumental things that happened in that era, Martin Luther King Jr’s speech, and the Moon Landing, and JFK as president, and cool cars, not to mention my parents were born in the 60s. My grandparents also got married in the 50s too, on my dad’s side, they got married in 1958.
Your awesome an was the movie miss congeniality an yes I wish magic was real too lol i would trying to fix everything in the world and you’re hair is great I have always loved Betty Paige I’m 28 so she not my era but I love her era and the 70’s an 80’s too 🥰
Movie quote- Sandra Bullock in Miss Congeniality. Love that movie. Its funny, but several ppl told me that that character was me, lol. I couldn't believe when I saw it and heard some of the things she said/did... exactly things that I have said and done. So funny!
Thanks! It did kindof. We could get a few channels, but the picture was not great and it was super green in color. My husband actually replaced the old tube with a modern flat screen. So it still looks vintage but works as a smart TV.
My parents were married in 1953. My Dad had a '47 Ford Convertible at one point (like the one Mr Miagi gave to The Karate Kid). I often wish I could have traded places with him. I'd have been 26 y/o in 1957. How cool would that have been?
Your confidence answer was excellent. Unfortunately for me I am almost 60 and would like to dress like a 60s flowerchild. I don't think I could pull it off.
I love watching your videos! As someone who has been drawn to all things '50s for a long time, it's so fun to see all aspects of your '50s life. The only thing I would suggest is that you listen to your own narrations and perhaps not lift the pitch of your voice at the end of so many of your sentences. It's a bit distracting--especially if one listens to hours of your videos which, I freely admit I do!😃 Thanks for all the fun and info you bring!
Your interview with “In The Know” popped up in my recommended and I had to watch. I’m not exaggerating when I say I shed a couple of tears because your entire lifestyle and aesthetic made me really happy.

The best part of your videos are the smiles from you. You are clearly living your best life and that is an absolute inspiration to everyone.
I had no idea you had a child! It makes me happy to see other moms who like vintage style! You are completely right, having time to look nice is just about prioritizing. Plus a good dose of experience that makes your routine go by faster, and outfit planning the night before. I always find it funny when people look at my hair and say "Wow, you must spend a lot of time getting ready!" and I tell them I got me and my 4 year old ready in less than 30 minutes, it's all about practice.
whossoul yay for vintage moms! Yes exactly! It really doesn’t take as long as people assume.
I'm so glad I found you! I've always had a love for the 1950's, so I love seeing someone as young as I am, who also loves it. 😍
Yay me too!

Oh for sure! Nothing beats finding treasures! Ahh thanks so much!!
The 40 and 50 eras women used to dress up so elegantly 😊

Your hair and makeup style is so so pretty!!! What brand of hair color do you use? Really looks so good!
i find you are so relaxing and just normal to listen to. It like we are hanging out just having a coffee.
My mother graduated in 1950 and the clothes you have on, your style., etc remind me of her yearbooks which are from the 40’s.

SQUEALS! Yes! We have the same favorite book.
I have misophonia too! My family let me play the radio at dinner if we eat together and it helps.
Do you wear vintage stockings (the ones with the lines on the back) or modern ones? I love the look of the vintage ones.
Yep sometimes!
They are called "seamed stockings".During WW II when there was a shortage of nylon/silk for the war effort, ladies would draw a line on the back of their leg to give the illusion of seamed stockings!!
A get to know .. how lovely .. love theses.
Hi Laci. I think you are right wear what you want and which you like and makes you happy. Marie

Ahh yay! I’m so glad! Thanks babe!
When you were talking about favorite movies I thought you’d talk about 1950’s movies. I love classic movies the best. Cary Grant, Doris Day, David Niven, Rick Hudson etc. I could go on and on😀
I didn't know you had a channel. I know what I'm marathoning today.
My six year old is obsessed with White Christmas. She’d watch it every day if she could. 😊
Meg Truett yes! You’ve taught her well 😊
I'd like to think so ;)
Movies I like is the Night at the Museum movies love seeing history come alive/.I was born 1957
Honestly you deserve an award I love the 50s to am only 10... :,) OMG TYSM LACI!!
I’m your new subbie!! How you feel about the 50’s I feel the same way about the 60’s and 70’s!!
Oh nice! That’s awesome!
I'm with you on the 50's shopping spree! That would be heaven 💕
What finish or products did you use to touch up the Brasilia furniture set? Tia
You’re great! I wish there were more women like you!

Ruby's Musings thank you my friend! A house tour is definitely coming. There’s still a few projects I want to do first 😊
Laci Fay The Vintage Girl Next Door YAY!
These are lot of intriguing answers. Very cool stuff.
Hehe thank you!
Laci Fay The Vintage Girl Next Door You’re welcome.
My grandparents also got married in the 50s too, on my dad’s side, they got married in 1958.
hi laci had a great day most of it at the beauty salon wow you girls are not joking when I,m having my hair done...
That’s awesome!
You are absolutely stunning!!! You make me happy!!! Do you dress like that all the time? And do you always wear dresses/skirts?
Your awesome an was the movie miss congeniality an yes I wish magic was real too lol i would trying to fix everything in the world and you’re hair is great I have always loved Betty Paige I’m 28 so she not my era but I love her era and the 70’s an 80’s too 🥰
You got it! Ahh yes wouldn’t it be so nice!!
Do you use a vintage washer machine?
You should listen to Louis Prima, I think you’d like him. My favorite songs are “5 Months, 2 Weeks, 2 Days” and “Pennies From Heaven”
I love your cat pins !
Valeri Oliva thank you!! They were a flea market find 😊
Movie quote- Sandra Bullock in Miss Congeniality. Love that movie. Its funny, but several ppl told me that that character was me, lol. I couldn't believe when I saw it and heard some of the things she said/did... exactly things that I have said and done. So funny!
At approx. 21:36, she says The Count of Monte Cristo is one of her favorite books. Mine too!
Just found your videos today. You are incredibly interesting and very unique. Im happy I found your channel.
Hey Laci love your vintage tv does it still work?
@22:33 " Miss Congeniality " is where the quote is from .
make up is on fleek!
Thanks so much!!
I would really like to see your lounge wear, you should do a video on it
I’ve thought about that! I’ll put it on the list!
Miss Congeniality! I love cats and White Christmas too xc
catherine Higham yes!! Yay for cat lovers 😸
I’m new in your channel. Love your videos. Amo tus videos. 🥰
My parents’ ENTIRE bedroom set is Broyhill Brasilia. Two nightstands, headboard, and two dressers.
That’s awesome! Ours too!
House tour would be amazing
vegan fit mumma it’s on the list for 2019 😊just have some projects I would like to finish up first.
Whats the brand of hot cocoa?
