"Malora... I believe I had dealings with her on Korriban, long ago... when I was a different species."

.... and gender.
- Believe me, prison changes people.
- Yeah, how so?
- I used to be white.
LOL :D :D

Red is the new black
Ironically she ended up doing exactly what she accused her master of doing. She was just wasting the Empire's time and resources on her own personal pursuits.
well said
It's actually even worse; all Lord Renning was doing was wasting a bit of time by dissecting Tuk'ata, and it's clear that he found a way to properly control them and use them as war-beasts, since he fights alongside a bunch of Tuk'ata in Korriban Incursion.
Malora? She's not just wasting time with the Mutant Geonosians, she's actively being detrimental to the mission; the Geonosians just decided to attack *both* sides, and have probably killed more Imperials than they have Colonists and Jedi.
Yeah, fuck it. Lord Renning did nothing wrong. XD
no shit
Not only that, but dialogue on the republic side has he sounding like she believes as Renning used to. Not to mention he was right.
Isn't that what typical Sith does?
Personal goals b4 everything else.
Forget the minor change in Malora's reaction. The real moral of the story here is that if you chose to not help her you will turn from a Cathar into a Sith Dude but if you do help her you will turn into a Twi'lek instead. Forget Sykrim, Dragon Age or the Witcher, this takes the RPG mantra "your actions will have consequences in the game" to a whole other level heheh.
heheh
One year later you just dont get it. The whole game was written like that. Spoiler spare barras and he becomes a zildrog battery turn against the empire and quin try's to kill you whilst working for barras again. They wrote it this way so they can keep throwing 8 year old stuff back at the starwars fan base.
@@Vlkolak26 It wouldn't be much of a story if it didn't reference things that happened previously would it.
Lol!!!!
Remember Malora? This is her now. Feel old yet?
I do. And I'm curious what the hell happened to her. XD
mingled with pureblood sith genes?
In game 7 years passed, in life 7 years also...
Game started in 2011. So 7 years in the story are true 7 years.
That joke is better than the whole of 5.10
Funny thing is she's pretty much the same no matter what you did on Korriban.
Malora: "my master is wasting resources on stupid science projects "
Malora in the future: "what's all this commotion interfering with my failed science project?"
She came full circle, and now she understands
Like master, like apprentice.
The Apprentice replaces the Master and makes the same mistakes. It’s the Sith way.
They havent been enlightned by the High Ground.
@@noxy4966 well, Maul had the high ground...
man the darth title came so easily during this era.
@Ívarr hinn Beinlausi No, you had to become THE Apprentice to THE Sith Master
@Ívarr hinn Beinlausi I get what you mean but your argument kinda falls apart, since most of the people you mention didn't have the Darth title.
On another note, the Banite Sith valued secrecy and wouldn't proclaim their titles publicly (Vader was the only one two do this as far as I know). So yeah, technically any two people could call themselves Darths in an emply room but if multible Sith pairs who called themself Darth met, they wouldn't just acknowledge each other but fight to the death, because there could only be two.
Just remember Darth Zhorrid.
Kinda I mean they weren't handing the title out like candy, it's more of I killed my master and did this thing so reward me or i'll try to kill you and then sometimes you die for that and sometimes you become a darth
@@casusbelli91 Zhorrid becoming a Darth was nepotism and she's most likely is a threat with her crazy self yet running into Wrath was just not gonna end in her favor.
Shame there's no dialogue choice where you can say you completely forgot she existed; because I did, lol. xD
That would've been funny
seriously, that would have been my Sith Inquisitor, ZERO doubt lmao :D
I'm glad the vid included the original scene because yeah, I'm like: I've screwed over and killed so many people it's hard to keep track.
It took a bit of time just to remember what class I met her over as.
I actually mistook her with Darth Lachris from Balmorra.
A side quest character becoming important to main story is the funniest thing ever. Now we just need Thana Vesh to show up.
Darth Iarnunvosk hahah I remember her. I killed her on my sorcerer but spared her on my juggernaut. If somehow survived our encounter I would love to see the difference in dialogue. The taris imperial side quest was my favorite one.
Kill off any more sith, and she'll be Emperors by process of elimination.
If Thana Vesh pops up it'll be the funniest shit ever.
I killed her on both my Sorcerer and Marauder...
@@ExeErdna Especially if I get to react like:
"Hang on, weren't you that apprentice I killed on Taris because you wouldn't sleep with me?"
At least on the toons where I actually did that.
She has become the very thing she swore to destroy!
in a way ':)

Anakin you were like a brother to me
That's George Lucas in a nutshell.
@@melvinch: And yet we have Kennedy and Johnson at the helm, miss Lucas yet?
7 years for you the player, but it's actually more closer to 12-13 years later in game time. Korriban to Makeb is about 5 years. Rishi, Yavin 4, and Ziost is about a year. So now, it's 6 years have passed. Zakuul is 5 years in carbonite, so now it's 11 years total. Then Odessen, Iokath, the traitor arc, and Ossus is about 2 years. So, now it's 13 years total. So Quinn is now around 50 (he was 37 on Balmorra), Vette, who was 19, is now 32, etc. (Some bits/planets take a few months, some take a year. Plus wookiepedia lists it as close to 13 years too. So, 7 years to us players, 13 years to the characters in game by the time Ossus is here and we're doing the dailies.
a lot of time passed which makes it very interesting
It sure feels like 13 years have passed when I'm doing dailies lol
Meanwhile : Quinn still looks 30, kira and jaesa still look 20, your character still looks the same, satele shan at 80 or something finally looks liike what she would normally have looked at 60 at the beginning of the game when she looks 30.
Thanks! I was asking myself how many time takes each main quest and is really a lot of time
Damn, that means that (depending on Romance,) your Character’s S/O was looking for you for quite a while.
That’s some real dedication right there.
So, one line difference? Still, it's impressive that it's in there at all.
Zyron Yeah sometimes they don’t have any changes.
Yes it is impressive but I still wish there was more to give us a better illusion that our choices mattered more. I'm still very glad she is there though, I liked her.
More than enough. I'd rather they don't mess with 7-year-old decisions. I already lost Khem on one such case...
That's how a lot of choices in swtor are. They're worth a few dialogue changes at most
@@Easytoran SO sad you actually think one extra line is impressive, god I hope your being sarcastic.
I never sided with Malora. The whole idea of “i need to prove they’re a fraud by actively interfering, sabotaging, and fabricating the fraud” rubs me in all the wrong places.
Renning makes a much more useful ally in the grand scheme
I actually think this subversion makes sense for the Inquisitor storyline, which is about breaking paradigm that aliens and "low-born" creatures couldn't excel as Sith. For the Warrior, on the other hand, I think it makes a whole more lot of sense to stick with Renning like you said. As for the methods of Malora's ascension, well... Sith. They're not honest, and what she did is fairplay... unless they get caught. What makes no sense is that Malora is so forthright and honest about her intentions to a lousy acolyte. An actual Sith would use her standing (Malora outranked an Acolyte since she's already through her trials when you meet her) and demand the brains be brought to her instead, no questions asked.
I only did it so I could collect both rewards, I don’t really care about who’s in the right, makes more sense given that you’re a Sith as well
@@highonsugar6273 there's many ways you can look at it and have it look like a sith.
Malora revealed to you a weaknes that you can take advantage of. either by eliminating her, or black mailing her for your own gain.
or, from my perspective, viewing her ambitions as that of pursuing "fake" power. and me wanting to pursue true real power, would see her as a weak fool who doesn't deserve her station.
@@Drako2k0 You can also see it as fear of Lord Renning because your just an acolyte, you can also side with him because he’s a lord and can reward you better
@@kevray true, fear of Renning at first, but also being in his favor, as a higher ranked sith, has the ability to reward you better than a lowly no-name apprentice. You’re right.
I think she used sith alchemy and mutated herself using sith pureblood dna. she looks like a sith pureblood
Hopefully we get more backstory to what she did to herself.
But she does look like the first generation of a Sith Pureblood-human hybrid.
I think she was a juvenile sith pure blood human mix whenever you meet her on korriban and once you meet her again it's been 7 years so her spikes grew.
I would love to have a character like her, human/ pureblood hybrid
I sold her out in every single one of my gameplays.
That's a reflex I constantly have each time I start a Sith character, I don't like being manipulated into doing the dirty job of others (Malora should have gone to the tomb herself, lazy bitch...).
Honestly is there any other way?
I get more invested in the story when I cause controversy like this haha
@@wargamesmaster thank the darkside of the force for you dark stranger. I feel the same way. I agree completely.

Malora: you used to be more accommodating
Sith: you used to be cuter
Sure, Malora has changed allot in those seven years. Your Sith Inquisitor... I would have barely recognised her.
Yeah, how can one go from a small, female Cathar to a large, male, Sith Pureblood? The power of the dark side is amazing indeed.
I'm guessing her and the Female Imperial Agent will have lots to talk about....."Hey you sound familiar"
Exactly my thoughts!
Nah it would be the same like when fem trooper meets satele shan

Keon Pinte That’s only for the bad choice.
I want Assistant Overseer Loun to appear for my Pureblood SW, she promised they'd smash if he passed his trials, where the story is now he's more than passed his fucking trials.
Game wise, its been 7 years since release. Canon wise, 10+ years. I think its like 13 years. I gotchu, Letalis :P
Wookipedia says 3630 BBY. So 13 years after being lvl 1 (3643 BBY) :O
That means Jaesa is now 34 and Kira 33 years old. The class story is also supposed to be 2 years. Never occured to me.
@@Xerkrosis Yep, 2 years for class story, 4 for everything before KOTFE, 5 years being frozen in carbonite, and another 2 years fighting Zakuul and afterwards to now. I have to imagine that, generally speaking, the Sith/Jedi characters are around early to mid 20s at the start of the storyline, maybe mid to late. They done a lot of fighting since then. XP
@@tylerchurch1152 WHOA KIRA HAS NOT SEEN ME FOR 7 YEARS
@@familybossprimo Imagine my jedi knights reaction, if she'd return with a child less than 5 years old. :D
Xerkrosis it would be so cool if you could have a kid in this game. Maybe as a special dialogue option (they’d have to avoid being explicit) and only do it for Lana and Theron for male and female chars, respectively, that way the kids (one for Lana, one for Theron) can look the same (like Lana or Theron) and have the same name. Only problem I see is alien characters, who (most of them) couldn’t produce a human child. Maybe canonically it could be possible but the problem is they would have to animate a different character model for every hybrid. That would mean the child option is restricted to humans, cyborgs, and maybe a few others (a half-Rattataki or miraluka would still look human) which is unfair to non human characters. It’s never going to happen, but interesting to think about
If you're wondering what happened to Lord Renning, during the attack on Korriban Flashpoint (if you're a Republic player), you fight and kill him.
Both attacks happens simultaneously according to the dialogues so while your imp char are in Korriban an Pub char is on Tython, so Renning dies defending Korriban from the Republic in all timelines and choices.
As soon as I saw this comment, I went to watch an old stream my mate did years ago when we did the flashpoint together where we did that quest and I actually say in the stream "Lord Renning? I'm sure I've heard his name before..." and now it's finally come full circle lol. Thanks for the pointer.
Oh, I remember this now. Yeah, I think I ratted her out with my sith characters as well.
Who wouldn't?
@@butitwasmedio yeah, I was going for full evil and didn't care about what she wanted.
Love the plural there, one time just isn't enough :D
You clearly don't have enough Sith characters
I think Malora played too much Starcraft for 7 years and became enamored with The Queen of the Blades.
Voice and face, it would seem lol wonder if she spent years in a chrysalis too after Korriban
she is the swarm!
Kerrigan ❤️
Well she is playing with bugs...
I had no Idea that she was introduced that early on in SWTOR, Got to love Bioware for that level of detail,
She literally never appeared for seven years of BW "storytelling". That's not detail, they're pulling old shit out of the ass to make their universe look continuous.

I love how they put a minor character from a side-quest most people didnt even play into a major story character, lol.
Now when I say 7 years, I'm referring to the period between the game's release in 2011 until the latest content patch in 2018
how ironic that this is around 7 years as well
@@floricel_112 It's been over a decade story-wise.
Damn time flies. I remember restarting my character because I dragged some abilities out of the quickbar (my first mmo lmao). Really want to pick it up again but think I lost the email I used
Wasn't the kotfe/whole frozen period like 10 years
Players were frozen in carbonite for 5 years. Now, if the numbers of Wookieepedia are to be believed (take it with a grain of salt), the game's prologue starts in 3643 BBY, while it's now supposedly 3630 BBY, meaning that this is *13* years later.
"Well look what the Tuk'ata dragged in."
On both of my Sith, I neither helped Malora nor betrayed her. I simply brought the brain directly to Lord Renning, without mentioning Malora's plan.
I don't know how that will play out when meeting Darth Malora, but I suspect the result will be the same as having betrayed her.
"You're fortunate that others value your life more then I do"
Thats the best joke I heard all day, she is lucky I didn't chuck her off that bridge before Malgus got a chance to.
So let me get this straight, they brought back a chick that only had like what... 2 minutes of screentime but they didn't bring Thana Vesh back as a romancable companion???
yes
Typical BioWare
Because romance is sensitive these days and not woke
I think it was to do with the fact of "Well what if I killed her in my play through?" How would the new charcter act in that role? What lines would they speak and how would the jouney change? I understand why but I think an off comment about her death leading a charge could of been a somewhat ok answer.
Thana was so arrogant she was funny, would be cool see her again
I wonder is there a way for there to be a full immersed dark side enfused sith without the physical deformations? You can be amoral or evil but you don’t have look like Freddy Krueger doing it. Sauron used to be very handsome and charmed people into doing what he wanted.
I guess Darth Sidious set that rule in stone. You wanna be truly dark? Gotta look the part, too. The only exceptions to this seem to be Valkorion and Vaylin. Vaylin was a loose-ass evil cannon, but all that really changed for her were her eyes.
PolillaBenG
To me it is very stupid. It reduces the sith to cartoon villains. Why are we evil just because. There’s no middle ground. My favorite Sith are those who are pragmatic and willing to use all aspects of the force for self advancements. For example Sith slavery makes no sense. They are in a society with robots. Why would you need slaves when robots are quicker
more efficient and unlikely to complain. A slave would sabotage your operations if they could and they have no incentive to innovate. The only way it has some sort of rationalization is when there is prostitution like Star Wars has with Twileks. But they have robot sex dolls.Slavery is simply wasteful from a Sith’s perspective. Thanks to rebel hollowvid propaganda the Sith are seen as mustache twirling villains. There should be a Sith protagonists film or book series.
Even if current canon almost completely wipes the slate, there are plenty of Sith who aren't reduced to cartoon villains. Sidious was designed that way because George Lucas needed an obvious representation of evil/temptation to show that there was someone behind who we all thought was the main bad guy (Vader). But then you have Sith who take a more pragmatic approach to things. Darth Revan, Darth Malgus, Darth Bane, Darth Tyranus (Count Dooku), all of them weren't your average cookie-cutter Sith. Even Darth Vader mainly did his deeds out of self-shame, not always pure hatred. As for slaves, the Sith Empire believed in dominance over others they deemed inferior. That's why every Empire in Star Wars used slaves as a show of control over people who would oppose them. Plus, in this time period, there isn't as much of a reliance on droids since this is supposed to be 3000 years before the films.
For the Cartoon Villians thing, She was raised like Azula, minus the pampering
for the Slaves thing, Sith THRIVE on misery and hate non Humans or Pureblooded Sith
What, are you saying I’m not pretty?
2:15 lol that chat message

@@erbgorre I'd say he needed a grammar teacher. "I need a halp"? Seriously?
When I read Darth Malora I was like Darth who? The thumbnail made me think it was Darth Lachris, I could not remember Renning's apprentice.
I don't see a difference. she still looks annoyed by your presence and she doesn't seem like she appreciates the fact that you helped her in the past. it might have been a long time ago but there is literately no difference between your choices.
Either outcome doesn't seem to change anything later on but great tie in from a past mission. I like when they do that. :)
true
1. I fail to see how one option or the other is light side or dark side.
2. Dark side option is better because then she has less chance to act greater than you
What i noticed:
1) the choice didn't matter
2) she sounds (and kinda looks) like Medusa from Dota2
Ah yes Darth Malaria, What a lovely gal. Damn, the Dark Council has changed.
Lol.
I've always found it extremely hard to believe the entire dark council was killed during the Zakkulian wars. It doesn't make sense that not a single member survived. They were all replaced by their apprentices, except for your two Sith characters obviously
Wtf happened to her? Never seen a mutation like that.
I'm assuming that given her masters obsession with darkside mutations he used her as a labrat for sith alchemy to test what he's learned.
We can't all grow an extra pair of toes.
@Ívarr hinn Beinlausi That's hot
At least Renning went down with honor unlike Malora.
BioWare Austin needs to Re-vamp the Facial Details on the Characters we created to match the new Detailed Characters.
yes
We have Malora?
Now we need Savorin Malfus VII from the Bounty Hunter story to randomly appear and yell "Oh, you struck me! How dare you?"
"Honey, you got real ugly!"
- Ash (Army of Darkness)
Malora hit the wall at full speed and it showed her no mercy...
Disappointed how easily she was done in, not saying that Malgus shouldn't have I just feel it's a waste of a character as well. So now another person needs to fill a seat and I feel as though her seat will become the meme that was the Sphere of Military Offence. Those lads died left right and centre. Still, hoping the Inquisitor can choose to get their seat back. Second Kaggath lads and lasses? :P
Oh the Kaggath is a thing, of course!
She got better
Malora's relationship to Renning is very similar to a typical grad student's relationship to his or her advisor :)
I'm one of the few people who actually enjoyed talking with Darth Malora. If she wasn't part of the war effort and putting her skills to use in a science division or maybe even the academia, she might have become a more valued member of the Empire as a whole.
Malora should thank me for the gift of years of pain under her former master. Her hate has made her strong. Yet her ingratitude is unsettling.
Woo the illusion of choice
It had been so long that I completely forgot what dialogue options that I had chosen by the time we come across her again years later both in game and irl.

Malora, the years haven't been too kind on you, it seems. Work finally getting to you, eh?

is this game fun to play for single player campaign experience?
yes
Yes, that is how i play it. If you only want to experience the Story, you do not have that many downtimes, while waiting for some Plot-Mobs to respawn.
Bizarre to hear people tell you an MMO is worth playing just for single player amirite? Believe me it's true. Absolutely worth it if you're a star wars fan.
Sometimes when I play war zone my computer freezes might be just a weak cpu (or whatever it’s called to run games like swtor) or my WiFi
The content became to easy, but the stories are still great.
I wont lie I really want to play this game again. Thank you for your hard work
I had completely forgotten this npc by the time she returned and that with having played several warriors through the side quest.
honestly I forgot who she was or that she existed after
if they hadn't reminded me that I had dealings with her and her master on Korriban I wouldn't have remembered as well
Man if the original dark council survived the storyline would of been better
Did she experiment on herself or did her former master do that to her? Hope they answer that question
I wish that we could have seen more of her.
Lord Renning had a calm talking voice, and was kind.. I gave the brain to him.
Ah Malora. Proof that brains aren't required still for the dark council.
This was a very simple example of how you make a videogame feel more reactive. Little did I know years ago that this sidequest character would come back like this. More details like this would be better.
Malora is a few neurons short of a full tukata brain, if you catch my drift.
I hope we get à sith hybrid race down the line, she looks really cool like that
i didn’t even remember that this was her. i saw my warrior knew her and i was like uh ok
First she was an young Apprentice, now she's a overgrown Darth..
I recognized Malora since the moment they announced the characters for this new chapter. It is so amazing to see these random NPCs be brought into the fold.
Would've been nice if they brought back Thana Vesh from Taris too, and that she survived if you tried killing her. She should be in the Dark Council for the new Seat of Military Command.
That loose canon? The Empire would be doomed.
I guess 7 years turned Malora into Sonic the hedgesith

I don't what Malora did to make her voice echo like that but it does sound pretty cool.
That's some like, barely noticeable difference in "your choice matters" tbh
Her voice is chilling and demonic.
It's all bluster until "You-Know-Who" shows up, and let's EVERYONE know who's really in charge.
So pretty much no difference in results - slight dialogue change. Choices matter...not.
I find it amusing the characters adhere to strict social-distancing when conversing....
Malora is voiced by the same actress who voices Ciri!!!! I knew I recognized her!!
yep!
Lord Renning died when you invade korriban as republic in prelude of shadow of revan as all the inquisitor and lord which they give you missions when you were new in korriban

@Ívarr hinn Beinlausi I never liked the Commander title. Even when you're made Empress/Emperor you're still just a Commander like wtf
I am loving the grabbing of what seemed like a one off character and evolving them... Just... Yes.
