So sorry to hear that. My husband had an expected TIA 3 weeks ago. I called an ambulance immediately and they too came quickly and were brilliant. He didn’t loose his speech bit did talk incoherently for just a few minutes. He’s still undergoing various tests at the moment. Also having tests for Parkinson’s disease. Not a good time for him at the moment. Thank you for sharing this with us all and for informing everyone about ‘the need for speed’ praying for your brother’s speedy recovery.
Thank you so much Tina for alerting us to the importance of getting quick treatment for suspected stroke. It’s one of my fears about getting old, as fatal strokes are in my family. I have informed all of my family and friends what to do in an emergency but I hope they never have to. I’m so pleased that your brother is on the mend and that your sister in law rang up straight away. You have all been added to my prayers tonight. Bye for now, ❤
My Dad had a stroke 5 weeks ago. Ambulance called immediately. He had immediately treatment. He was in hospital 3 weeks. NHS were fantastic speech therapy and physio

Great advice Tina, glad your brother had such good recovery, I know how awful strokes can be. My Mam had a stroke but hers was a bleed and she never walked again, left her paralysed down her left side. Life changing. That was a long time ago now, she’s gone now bless her. What a wonderful drug, great to know about it. Thanks for sharing your story. 😀
Thankyou Tina, my husband aged 56 had a massive seizure in February followed by several strokes. The ambulance were here within minutes followed by 4 firemen who had to carry him downstairs as he was still fitting. As you say everyone was absolutely fabulous. It happened at 2am & luckily he managed to call for me before loosing his speech & use in his arms & legs for 2 days. He is making a good recovery but now has to use a rollator to walk with.. wishing your brother & family all the very best x
I have just been to our drs surgery where they were showing on the waiting room TV how important it was to act F.A.S.T if you think somebody is having a stroke. FACE: has side of face slipped? ARMS: - raise both arms to shoulder height - can they stay there? SPEECH: - Is speech slurred? TIME: - time is very important This seems very timely in respect of you highlighting possible stroke symptoms even if its just one of the above. Get medical help FAST. I hope your brother continues to improve and thank you for sharing.
