  • This is the second kata of the traditional Japanese martial art of Takagi Yoshin Ryu Jutaijutsu, named Dou Gaeshi. The technique gets it's name from the motion of rolling them (their torso) over from back to front.
This lesson is taught by personal student of Manaka Unsui Sensei, Chad Flakker, 7th Dan. Chad breaks the form down to specific details of movement and locking form to precisely how this kata should be trained.
This is the second video in a short series we will be releasing with Chad Flakker teaching. It was recorded at Yasuragi Dojo, in Jan. 2010.
Known for his 'no-nonsense' approach to kobudo training and taijutsu techniques, Chad's teaching is on-point and filled with valuable details for beginner and experienced budoka who are ambitious about learning this art, and not simply playing make-believe.
I hope you enjoy and look forward to your feedback. ~ Adam
