Dude with the face paint is the guitarist Wes Borland. That dirty grit you hear on the guitar is the use of a distortion pedal. KoRn helped get Limp Bizkit signed. As the story goes, Fred Durst (Limps singer) was a tat artist who worked on Fieldy (KoRn bassist) several times and eventually became friends. Durst handed him a demo tape, which was later handed to KoRns producer. KoRn and Limp had a fun beef track called “All in the Family” off KoRn’s album Follow the Leader.
MY older brothesr went to the KORN at the 400 person club called "The Milk Bar" in Jax that night and KORN got off stage and just hung at the bar. He said EVERYONE knew LB ,Fred would play his tapes during DJ breaks! Hometown boys
It actually amuses me how they react when seeing Eminem but back then Em was just starting this was LB's 2nd album and both are in each others video on their path to becoming top artists in the early 2000.
Thats a distortion pedal that makes it sound so gritty and raw. There are tons of different types of pedals that can make a guitar sound all sorts of different ways. The fun part is getting a pedalboard with a bunch of em and then mix n match.
The rap group "Onyx" has a song called "Slam" which is pretty heavy. They later collaborated with another metal band called "Biohazard" to metalfy the song, so it has some distortion.
@@juanjr4mirez oh for sure, just thinking of Em doing that diss track Girls and him versing LB on Without Me. He ended a lot of those old beefs even ICP which surprised me a bit
iirc it was more than just a distortion pedal (distorting the signal received from the magnetic pickups under the metal strings)... I believe Borland was using a detuned 7-string (has a low B string below the standard 6-strings low E string). This adds to the heaviness. Plus the bassist is in lockstep. Also, that guy with the makeup is the guitarist Wes Borland and he's a genius. Possibly one of the great, but most underrated guitarists in rock history.
And Pauly Shore and Jonathan Davis and so on. Like half the people in this video were super celebs back in the day, some still are today. When it comes to the grit...it originally came from turning the amps they play the guitars through until they were overloaded and distorted the sound. But now days, they have effect pedals to plug into.
What makes that guitar sound is a number of factors. Type of guitar, the pickups, But it’s most a lot of time, plus a distortion and overdrive pedal, drop tuning, gauge of the strings, the amps…. It’s endless, it’s an art form. Every guitarist has their secret sauce. 🎸 🔥

But Limp Bizkit were definately one of those Nu Metal bands that perfected the rap element in Nu Metal.
If no one else recommended it, Linkin Park did a whole collaboration album with Jay Z. You can see videos of them playing live together way back in the day.
Alright homie, new sub. You got me with this react. You should check out rock superstar and trouble by cypress hill. This is numetal or rap metal, this was the shit back in the day. It was the first time people that listened to rock and its variants and also listened to rap and hi hop knew they could be fused well together. Btw electric guitars can plug into foot pedals. Foot pedals make all kinds of different sounds. It's an expensive hobby. Run dmc with Aerosmith, beastie boys, eminem, to as recent as that new Joyner Lucas usues guitar. Also theirs been plenty of beefs between rock artists. Dave m from megadeth was an original of Metallica for example.
This was from 99, back before Fred & Eminem had any public dispute. Hell, even that dispute was staged. The only people Fred Durst ever had a problem with were his own band members. Snoop, Dre & Eminem aren't the only cameos, either: Flea from RHCP, Jonathon Davis from Korn, Roger Daltrey from The Who, Derek Jeter from the New York Yankees, Actors Alec Baldwin, Pauly Shore, Seth Green, Richard Lewis, three different professional skateboards (Bam Megara, Bucky Lasek, and Riley Hawk) all make an appearance at some point. Even Em's daughter Hailie & Victoria's Secret Model Lily Aldridge can be found in the video.
The sound effect on the guitar riff is produced using two things. A Drop D tuning (tuning the strings to be extremely loose which gives them a sort of 'buzzy' sound when strummed) and a distortion effect pedal, in this case probably (as was popular with late 90s nu metal acts) an Ibanez Tubescreamer pedal, although I don't know what Wes' actual toolkit was so I can't say for certain. It certainly has that signature crunch though from that pedal. Oh and new follower here.
Slipknot and Limp Bizkit had beef Kind of but it was mostly their fans having beef with each other and it's because Fred Durst call Slipknot fans ugly fat kids or something like that
This is my fav Bizkit tunes also check out The Beastie Boys and Kid Rock has killer guitars, the guitar tone comes from effect pedals pluged in between the guitar and amp, Wes Borland is a unique player, fred from bizket and Eminem had a beef

This is Hip Metal...
Slipknot and Limp Bizkit had beef Kind of but it was mostly their fans having beef with each other and it's because Fred Durst call Slipknot fans ugly fat kids or something like that
Nas - Hip Hop is dead, used a guitar sample from a rock song called "in a gada davida" by the band Iron Butterfly.
U rock
Looking glass.... the birthday massacre
FYI....Korn literally gave Limp Bizkit their break into the music industry.
Corey Taylor from Slipknot/Stonesour
🖤 CMFT Must Be Stopped 🖤 ft Kid Bookie and Tech N9ne you won't be sorry
This is my fav Bizkit tunes also check out The Beastie Boys and Kid Rock has killer guitars, the guitar tone comes from effect pedals pluged in between the guitar and amp, Wes Borland is a unique player, fred from bizket and Eminem had a beef

The same damn three songs that EVERY youtuber is reacting to.
Limp Bizkit has more than 3 songs.
Everybody is just following what the last man did.
1st ever song with metal guitars and rapping was "I'm the man" by Anthrax...I could be wrong but im pretty sure
its a rap/metal mash up. Huge back in the day. Best to watch the live version from Woodstock 99. Scratch that...Best way to watch them is FROM the mosh pit!
You have to react to Korn's track All In The Family featuring Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit!!!
You gotta listen to all Limp Bizkit uncensored for the best experience. Their title track for their 3rd record Hot Dog says fuck a total 50 times in under 4 minutes. Please react to it 🙏🏽
A good rap song with guitar is Korn ft Nas - Play Me
Nookie is a great Limp Bizkit song. Coming from Auburn Alabama.
lmao Ferd Durst (the lead singer) went from the only white dude with an n-word pass (for real) to beefing with just about anybody. If you like this, you should check out N Together Now with Method Man
