It's a Hafler design maybe better components. An Australian mob does the "Surround Master" which does some amazing things with a stereo signal. The Syn seems like a gimmick but I want one just for Schiit and giggles. Seriously can't wait for someone to compare the two
will one of you please do a proper review of the SYN? 😅 this gadget threw me back to the 90s when there was the poor man's surround sound with the Dynaco and the Chase Technologies analog decoders. and you know what? I just got the Chase Technologies decoder, installed it and immediately sold my AVR receiver. no more OCD with volume levels, speaker distance, crossover settings, surround modes, etc etc etc. just easy and decent surround sound, and music sounds so much better in analog. what holds me back to get the SYN is that lonely rca input. schiit people have to understand that we have cd players, turntables, old tv sets, Bluetooth receivers. tell em to stop the elcheapo back face of their products, and the center channel and sub outputs should be black, not a pair of red and white connectors 😂.
