I was front row at their The Return Of The Spice Girls AKA The Greatest Hits Tour on Feb 22, 2008 with all 5 ladies & it was such an incredible show & each girl sang 1 of their songs from their solo albums.

I’m thinking it’s more the former as we all know they performed live and the US rarely lets performers lip sync performances.
