Nice machine, i just did not understand what are these two external gears for? Both a connected simultaneously to the main spindle? Can someone explain me the function please?

Do it right with some updating and those old machines are beasts.....back when they made high quality cast iron frames....the illegal EPA has removed that possibility now. Improve bearings...tighten all tolerances grind the ways , new close tolerance lead screws etc. Other than not having the ability to cut metric threads easily these old machines can be better than new ....If done correctly.
Cutting metric threads on a lathe with an imperial lead screw is quite easy, actually. I did a restoration of an old Torsa lathe a few years ago. Oddly enough this German made lathe comes with an imperial lead screw. No problem to cut metric threads with a 127 tooth gear in the change gear train. Using a thread dial is not possible though. (Well, in theory it would be possible with a very complex one.)

That wasnt a restoration that was a cleanup and paint job lol. No way in hell you'll be machining any precise parts with that.

Thanks for the feedback. I will consider this. Its more work to add commentary, and a lot of this work is done ad hoc.
If you need to clean up rusted machined surfaces, use scotchbrite padd.
