  • First MKIV on the channel!
I was very excited to catch this truck and was very lucky that it was out when I was filming! The driver of the MKIV was on his first day, and I have to say I think he did a great job!
The MKIV sounds very similar to the GenV did, so I think it has an ISC-05 engine instead of an ISC-03. It is a 2005 model so very close to the release of the GenV, and an ISC-05 is not unheard of in a MKIV. The Aussie Waste truck #15 was the same, also being a 2005 model. However, I believe the Aussie Waste truck #9 had an ISC-03.
I was trying to figure out how many MKIV's are left in Tassie after filming this. Aussie Waste's #15 was burnt in the fire, however #9 was not. The rego doesn't come up for #9 at all, which means it could have had rego transferred or the truck was scrapped.
Of course all Veolia MKIV's have been scrapped, and all the Hobart ones have been sold. Sometimes side loading garbage trucks aren't bought for the body but rather for the truck, so the side loading body is scrapped and the dual control truck is used for something else, such as a tilt tray, vac truck or a rear loader.
There was a MKIV up north under ToxFree, but I have no idea the story on that or how many there were.
Also is some footage of the mighty E5, and some double garbo action!
Thanks to the drivers, and to the owner of Thorp Waste (well I'm pretty sure its him at least) for letting me film, being so friendly, driving some bloody awesome trucks and for being so great behind the wheel!
I hope you enjoy the video!
    Cheers!

Wow! What an epic find! This truck is so well looked after it’s amazing! The council really knows how to look after it’s trucks especially this MkIV. Plus the shiny set of wheels and almost pristine mud flaps really make it shine. What a beautiful truck.

Cheers mate! It sure is a beauty, this bloke really takes good care of his trucks! He also has an old Acco skip bin truck, which like his other trucks looks brand new despite being 41 years old!

Cheers mate! It is sad there aren't many left - and not many to revive either, most of them have been scrapped.
