I have the 9001-GW and I also have (and had) a few Ganzos. In terms of quality, the Sanrenmu, to me, is much better. It feels more solid and the action is also better. I love the lockup. I love the secondary lock. The G10 feels like it comes from a much more expensive knife. The blade is a work of art. Lovely piece right here.

I also like the SRM knives and I have a 9211 that I will be doing a future review on.

@@bladesandmore8833 Do you have the 1005 and the 1006? I love those. Saw them first on the LuvThemKnives channel. I was lucky I was able to get one of each although I really wanted to get the other designs also. Those are cheap but beautifully crafted. Budget knives they may be but I'm preserving them.

I have this knife's sister model, the 9002 (it's a framelock rather than a linerlock, but is otherwise the same knife). I swear they gave this thing the best heat treat I've ever seen on 12C27. It's on a par with really, really good heat-treated VG-10 or softer S30V. They Paul Bos'ed 12C27 and ran it past even good D2; I'm not kidding! My 9002 has a great detent, so perhaps the extra $3 you spend on the framelock might be worth it. Or it's just an individual soft detent, since that happens, too.

Thanks for stopping to take a look at it JW and tour insight into the blade material. I like the Sanrenmu brand. They make some nice blades!

@@bladesandmore8833 Happy to offer my thoughts on a knife I basically just reviewed (I did the 9002 framelock, not the 9001 linerlock). They make incredible blades for the money, particularly in 12C27 or 8Cr14MoV (which they also heat treat to "just as good as AUS-8 and arguably better"). Their 8Cr13MoV isn't quite as good as their 8Cr14MoV despite still being good (think a Spyderco Tenacious), and honestly, the steels are so chemically close that I have wondered if their 8Cr13MoV is their more budget heat treat and their 8Cr14MoV is their more deluxe heat treat.
