I love seeing this on the steep terrain, I'm in north central WV and have nothing but hills. A mini ex is most likely exactly what I need to transform my land and make it accessible
Very interesting, my land is on the side of a mountain, so it's not easy to get around by ATV. I would love to be able to make trails like yours but, when I dig into the ground, what may seem like a small stone is sometimes surprising, because what was apparent is only the tip of the iceberg. A rock that protrudes just 6 to 8 inches can actually turn out to be a rock over 3 feet in diameter.
Funny. I have 67K miles using 2-wheel street legal dirt motorcycles. On dirt through temperate rain forest into sub-alpine mountains. My practice area is found in UA-cam as VEDDER MOUNTAIN. Open year around, free, with volunteer groomed routes. Rides specific for 4x4, mountain bicycles, and motorcycles. I recommend watching the wet and winter freezing ride conditions from a safe sofa.

This is one of the best trail building videos I have seen. Very inspiring. I have a large property and want to build trails throughout. I like what I see with the JD 17. Does it require much maintenance?
@@Girthmovers Would this trail support a 4x4 mid size SUV? Is it wide enough for a 6ft wide SUV plus maybe 1ft on each side?? Do you have to add rock to the trail to support dirt bikes, ATV, small cars? What about a canal on the side of the mountain does it not need a canal?
The 1 and only job that a stucker mini dozer may be actually a good fit for. Still need the mini x but the dozer may be able to make the rough plow part go faster.
How long is the trail? How many days to build? I have 2 miles to build, already logged and most not quite so steep. Going to rent and wonder how long to plan for. Thanks
Trail is a mile. Once you start flowing it goes pretty quick. The bigger machine you rent the faster it goes too. Get it for a week and see what happens.

@@Girthmovers Nice thats good info. I am starting on a 2mile project on private land and while I am not by any means new to trail building I am very new to mechanized building. Very nice trail! I would maybe smash the lower bank down with the bucket and take some native grass seed in to help with erosion

What sort of mileage did u manage to cover per day? Ie your ground coverage on average?
1600m /5 day = 320meters / day. or 32m/hr if you worked 10 hr days

Depends on you experience, how long the trail can you complete in 1 hour of work?

How much do you use the blade - you make it looks so easy to spread the dirt flat at the end?
Pretty much use the blade every time I move back and forth. Back dragging helps to keep it super buttery
