Unboxing our Chinese mini excavator from Nuoman Engineering which we bought from Alibaba. See our video linked below for the step by step process for this purchase.
We strip off the carton and drive it off the trailer for the first time. We then test the machine and make sure all is OK.

As a mechanic that worked on Chinese manufactured forklifts my suggestion is to go over the unit & make sure hose clamps for coolant hoses are replaced as the Chinese ones are poor quality. If any parts like filters are manufacturer specific get extras. Also hydraulic hose fittings, check & be certain they are available at your local supplier. Just a couple issues I’ve experienced on the job.
I checked out the hydraulic lines and they are all available. It came with spare filters etc and I have matched them up locally. Good to hear from someone who has worked on similar - thank you for the advice it is greatly appreciated.

Budget Chinese tractors that get imported into Australia get the fluids replaced and regreased before sale here by importer.
The "clamp thing" is a muffler tip to direct the exhaust for the engine. The small black pouch with the spanners and screwdriver (and the exhaust tip) would normally ship with just the engine, if purchased separately.
As an equipment opperator I am so happy for you both! Your wife is so supportive and that is amazing to me! I wish you both the best and hope you enjoy your new excavator it is very cool! I would love to have one!

Her accent is British, but it's definitely not the best accent to Learn English from.. Unless you want to pronounce things oddly. I would choose a Canadian tutor but then again I may be biased.

When you get some experience, you’ll be able to load and offload the excavator without little ramps . Remember, with the boom you can lift yourself and push and pull . I use a trailer that doesn’t tilt, yet I can load offload with ease. Have fun !

As a chinese myself, i appreciate how people are accepting chinese products as they are, and not be overly critical on everything chinese
From a child all I have known is products are made in china - to me it is normal and probably over 50% of products in peoples house comes from China. So I had no problem buying directly from the factory. It was fun to do and I got a great deal too.

it helps if you have the throttle all the way up to have the hydros run a little smoother.
The clamp may be a safety device you place around the hydraulic ram when doing maintenance such as greasing etc, my Chinese bobcat has one and the instructions say it stops the bucket arm from falling should the ram(s) fail, they usually creep down as it is. Be sure to run full throttle as the pumps work better/last longer that way, or they will struggle.

Check the exterior of the tool box to see if the clamp you questioned fits on it. The clamp may mount the tool box to the ROPS ( Roll bar)
Great video, neat little excavator (“digger”) - FYI, when you have a ROPS (roll-over protective structure) you want a seatbelt to keep you inside the protective ROPS. Most people are injured or killed when they attempt to leap from a piece of equipment, and it rolls over them. The seatbelt keeps you inside the protective ROPS and keeps you from getting crushed.
Yes, seat belt is now fitted and I use it all the time.

That's actually even smaller than the koboda ones I've seen here around town for rent. I'd kind of like to pick me up one of those if they're build good and well, and can stand up to some digging.
There are even smaller 800kg units but the are just too small on how deep they can dig.
Most manufacturers make micro diggers, kubota do a kx008
The mini excavators and loaders are very expensive to rent where I live, and the delivery/pickup charges are close to the rental fee.
Engineeringof the machine should hold up to digging, its bad operating that wrecks machines
Clamp is a hydraulic hose protection clamp probably for the auger. I own a cat mini excavator and have a similar part on my auger

I heard a story about Japan buying glass bottles from Russia years ago. Japan didn't want the glass bottles. They wanted the rare wood that the bottles were shipped in.
When the packaging costs more than the items, something is wrong... we have used the packing case for our concrete forms and covering holes - so well worth saving it. 👍🏻

So just to give my two cents, for what they're worth. The only time you don't wear a seatbelt, is when operating without a roll bar (for example if you fold it down on a big commercial mower to go under park tree branches. You don't wear the seat belt, so you can jump off) If you have a roll bar or a cab, you always wear a seatbelt, because it fights your instinct and stops you jumping off. It keeps you within the safe area. Most of the time when people try and jump off a machine with a roll bar, you just end up getting trapped under the bar. The seatbelt is to stop you jumping off. Fun video tho, I enjoyed it. nice one

As others have already said, there was no need to make or use a ramp.
Extend boom out about half way,
drive off/forward until you get to edge of trailer,
put bucket on ground and lift the machine's front end just a bit,
drive forward again while pulling boom back, until tracks front are fully supported on the ground,
Lift bucket and spin 180 put bucket down, as close to machine, on trailer
lift machine off trailer
Drive backward/off trailer while extending boom
clear trailer let machine down.
haha, I know, I will get the hang of it. I did make the ramp to try and protect the lights on the rear of the trailer, but it was more of a pain than helpful so I have ditched it. Cheers for watching and commenting.

I've operated diggers for 47 years all sizes, once you get used to it all the things become extensions of your arms and you won't even notice it. have fun playing with it rembers the guard on the lift ram is to protect it against the bucket hitting the ram because it will hit it. 👍✔️
These excavators are so light they can be quite frustrating to operate. Weight and stability are a good basis for pulling the digger bucket through tough compacted ground. Ive got a 301.7d cat digger and being 1.8 ton its a marked difference when you have to use something as small as this little thing
I have to transport it and have a 1.3t trailer so I had no choice but to go small. Budget did not stretch to a new trailer as well. ☹️

Yes i use 3/4 ton machines on tight access jobs. Never loose the shovel technique though. Its a dying art

I looked at the sphinx unit which I think is what you mean, but I could only afford the micro version which did not have a turn table - plus it was much smaller. They looked well made but just out of my price range.
Engine not quite as buttery as the Yanmar engines usually used in these small diggers but for the price unbelievable value to do a couple of smallholder projects.
Yes, If I had the budget it would have been Yanmar or Kubota - but that was an extra 4k.

Put it on the other way and there would be less chance of hitting your head too.
I run mine in over 100 degrees And she stays very cool. I never even need to turn on the oil cooler. Very smart getting the ram guards also 👍🏻👌🏼💪🏼
It was 35 deg C the other day and I could feel the heat through the controls, so I just flicked it on to be safe. It was probably the sun heating up the outside of the machine more than anything else. Thanks for commenting, ,much appreciated. 👍🏻

Having run a rental shop (the one in the big orange box) for many years, I have had the opportunity to see just about everything someone can do to break a Mini-Excavator. We had 1-ton, 1.5 ton and 2.5-ton excavators in the lineup, and I was forever pushing people to rent the bigger machines because the mini-ex was constantly broken by people trying to make it do more than its capabilities allowed. The most common complaint was it lacked power. Most of the time, people would run it at RPMs too low to produce the needed power. I noticed as you were moving the machine off the trailer you were doing the same thing. Setting the throttle lever at no less than 2000 rpm will give it the balls to do most of what its design specs allow. Higher RPMs will also protect the engine from overheating and stalling. Stalling a diesel engine is bad news.
Operating the machine at or above 2000 RPM will, to your wife's consternation, make the machine noisy and loud, but it makes you safer as the operator. If you put yourself in a position where the machine may tip over, having more speed to swing the cab and use the bucket to brace with can make the difference between giving yourself the option to tip-toe out of the position or getting squashed dead like a bug.
Regarding the seat belt. There's a comment here that's right on the mark about injuries to operators trying to jump off a rolling machine. He's right. It's the fastest, easiest way to commit suicide on an excavator or any other kind of construction equipment. staying on the machine while it rolls is how you survive. Also, should you roll the unit and pursue compensation through your insurance company, the instant they discover there is no seat belt, you'll be completely screwed and probably liable for prosecution. Put a seat belt on it ASAP.
Both the Bobcat and the Kubota 1-tons we rented were able to spread their tracks in and out for an increase in the track width by about 20 inches. This seemingly small change made a dramatic difference in the stability of the machine, and it was always the first thing I taught renters to do (after the throttle-up recommendation).
These are good, capable machines when used within their specs and tons of fun to operate if you're careful.
I just noticed the video "Mini-excavator pushed Hard..." which I haven't watched. I wonder what RPM you were running it at?

@@briandbeaudin9166 If you've run one of these minis or even a riding lawn mower you know that bodily feeling you get when you know you're about to go over. If there's no hope of recovery then grab the sides of the seat and pull your torso down as hard as you can and duck your head. Your shoulders may bump the ground but the ROPS (Rollover Protection System) will prevent the machine from landing on top of you because even though it weighs a ton when it's rolling downhill it's moving way faster than you can. If you're not really pushing the limits the ROPS will stop the machine at flopping over on its side.
Just to clarify - it does have a roll bar (ROPS) and it also has a seat belt. I have only experienced the feel of going over on my Kubota tractor and I was able to control into the tip....the mini excavator is more like a bucking bronco at times 🤣
This comment (particularly on the safety) should be included in the description. In my experience, this is completely, 100% true.
Many people do not understand how hydraulic final-drives work in the context of the speed. They'll assume they are driving or moving slow, therefore the RPM's should be slow. They forget that the RPM's directly relate to how much power the hydraulic pump can generate.
That tube you asked what it was for goes on the air filter intake tube, its to keep out rain.

The seat belt is there to keep you from jumping off the equipment in a rollover and crushing you.
Not for a high speed collision obviously.
I am awaiting the postman - I have been convinced. In my newly received user manual it shows the seatbelt, but i net that was another unknown option.

Hey guys and congratulations on your diggers arrival. Its been a journey for you guys, at least you can get on with everything now.
So that clamp you were referring to, that is an exhaust diverter. When the engines are fitted to other applications, sometimes the exhaust points directly at other components so that clamp is used to re direct the hot gasses away.

You won't need that exhaust clamp because they will have fitted a silencer style exhaust to lower the noise down. Just a spare part to put in the spare parts box 😄
This was my initial thought also, but is it possible it fits on the intake above the oil cooler maybe to stop rain being pulled in through the side vent?

Yeah You can’t really change the oil too much. Cut the filter too. Gives you a good look if there’s anything happening.

if you are still wondering about the clamp at 12:09 : in some countries, it is mandatory to have blinking warning lights (like the garbage trucks usually have them) on the highest point of the machine. This clamp is possibly for being able to mount such a warning light.
It ended up being an exhaust deflector.

I have one as well , big thing is to keep the tracks always very tight , you do this with your grease gun, they will slacken as you drive and turn, the cover on the side of the track is your grease point .
I will check mine again. Hope you are finding yours works well. Big test for mine with the ground works of our new build coming soon
I fully agree. It's easy to throw off a track by skewing when one edge of the track is up on a small rock or bump/sideways slope. Totally worth saving your tracks by getting down off the digger to kick rocks off to the side if you can't avoid them. Just be careful to avoid steering on them, not a problem if you proceed directly ahead. You'll understand when you've had to get the tracks back on a few times 🤣 keep them tight! The instructions say to leave a bit of sag. Wrong!

Great informative video. Don't listen to all the negativity in the comments. I bought one of these recently also down here in New Zealand however through an agent that imports them here not directly off Alibaba. They offer an 18 month warranty which I thought was quite reasonable. I bought this to help me develop my section, remove an old house off it and finishing landscaping. By the time I weighed up the cost of renting an equivalent unit and the hours I would need it for it just made sense to purchase one. The way I see it if I get all my work done with it and am able to sell it on in a couple of years for even half or less than what I paid then it will have well and truly paid for itself
I have thick skin and as most of our products in the shops come from China I do not have a problem with it at all. I asked a lot of people before making the purchase and they said the quality was good. I was happier than I thought. Thanks for the encouragement.

Word of advice/caution don’t push heavy objects(especially and even more so when doing it overhead like a tree trunk or heavy demolition)with that bucket/boom more than likely you’ll bend those cylinder’s/rods

I would have preferred the 3 cylinder yammer or kubota, but the budget did not stretch to the extra €4K. But for the next machine size up it is a must for sure - great to hear from others buying and using these diggers.. Thank you so much for watching.

It is still going strong and works well.
Need to idle it higher when operating the hydraulics. Using it at such a low RPM is very hard on the pumps.
Quite often the instructions say for "x" number of hrs run motor at 1/2 throttle,... or similar instructions. For breaking in purposes. Blaty bla bla...
3/4 throttle after warm-up that's why u use the atf or two stroke extra lube in fuel
The part which clamps onto the exhaust pipe is to prevent rain from entering the engine cylinders. Causing cylinder wall and ring corrosion and/or hydro-lock. Which could cause a bent crank or rod, or broken piston or rings.
It was to direct the end of the exhaust in a different engine set up. Mine just blows through the back of the chassis. Thanks for commenting

In my opinion, a superstructure (roof) would have been much safer than the roll bar. In the event of a rollover, the superstructure (combined with a seatbelt) prevents you from sliding off the vehicle and getting trapped.
I didn't like the look of the roof, it looked flimsy compared to the solid tube structure of the roller - I do have a seatbelt now. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
You do understand that that machine is meant to go off road and can easily roll up over 2 to 3 inches of lift and not to mention 8 to 10 inches of drop. You could’ve rolled it off the trailer without hitting the tilt if you know how to do it right. Using the boom you can lower the front end down to the ground and the rear end will just drop off the trailer.And thank God you didn’t put petrol or gasoline in there I don’t know of any excavators that run on gas, they are all diesel fuel for the most part.
haha, I know, but never driving it before I was a little cautious - for the diesel, everyone told me it was the same engine as a ride on mower.... and my mower was petrol, hence the confusion. Cheers 👍🏻
i have looked at the machines like that before, one thing that worries me is what happens if something fails. common brand that we have is easy, you go to a dealer and order a part. With this, you might wait for months before you get it.
They are pretty simple machines when you look deeply. I now have the full manual with all schematics so I should be able to figure it all out. Shipping from supplier is only like half the stuff of Amazon so it should be OK 🤞

Great little machine don’t be disheartened by folks saying it’s crap and you won’t get parts etc remember us brits can fix anything with a welder a vice and a bloody big hammer ,theres always someone out there that can and will fix it good luck relax and enjoy 👍👨🏻🏭🇬🇧

A great bit of kit! I think you would get more use from a top, keep cool from the sun, dry from the rain, and a place to hang your stereo speakers. The roll bar may on the off chance save your life.....but come on how often will you tip over? I love it!
I strongly approve of the protection bars and of the sunroof, cause safety goes first.

We looked at a lot of 2nd hand machines and they just looked worn out for what we could afford. I do work on my little Kubota tractor a lot but I do enjoy tractors.😀

Look up snickers pants. I don't think his are but those will lead you on a journey of pants you never knew existed. I have worn snickers here in the US and think I'm about the only one. They are super comfortable and hold up very well
@@jonsaircond8520 Totally agree - I tried some Snickers on recently and tried walking out in them but Julie saw the price tag - these one in the video are from my local builders merchants - LMA Workwear. They do not have the stretch that the Snickers do.
Don't jump off if it rolls ;) the roll bar will save you. You're likely to get crushed jumping off
