You said it beautifully. You are correct. We are not trying to look younger we are trying to keep what we have because we like it. Great video! Well done!
5 years ago, after suffering about 50% volume loss, all I wanted was my hair back. Now, 10 years later, I'm just praying to keep what residual hair I have left.
I am in a similar situation.....it's hereditary in my case...I take hair vitamins, biotin....wear a hat to protect from sun damage.....oliflex no.7 helps with frizz...but strands keep breaking off constantly....
I always had thick shiny wavy hair that looked great for 4 days after a wash…..but at 53 it changed drastically just like yours. Thinning, very dry, brittle, super frizzy, tons of tangles, like an old thin broom. Thanks for the suggestions. Hope I can find products in Canada.
My best wishes to your dog. Thank you for this video. I must admit when it comes to ageing I was not prepared to how negatively it would affect my hair. (My hair has been the one constant in my life.) Take care 💙🙏🏻🕊🌞
Yeh I was the same with my hair it was my pride and joy its the shortest its ever been cause its so dry and coarse due to the menopause. Think most woman feel more femine and confident when there hair is nice .thank you for the video .shout out to all the women going through this with the menopause its so hard x
I always put the Phillip Kingsley elasticizer on before I wash my hair instead of after and it works brilliantly. I always use it every other wash too. 😊 I do Watson is ok, thinking of you all. 🥰
Poor Watson! I didn’t know he was sick. I don’t get notifications all the tome even tho I’m supposed to. Same with IG. Poor boy has been through so much. Seymour sends puppy kisses for him. I have lost so much hair, dry and tangly as well. My hair used to be so thick and curly and now I’ve almost lost my curls. So so thin. Part of it is familial. My mother as my grandmother both had thin hair. There’s hair all over my house. I don’t even like to cook for anyone anymore because of it. Haha! Thanks for this video. It gives me some things to try.
I was excited for the gray hair, but no one told me my hair would turn into an absolute god awful mess. It happened over night and no one seems to have addressed this! It’s always about just the hair loss…. Also good to see pup us on the way to getting better.
Omg I did the Olaplex 3 as well (and Joyco K-pak and that expensive “Miracle” spray in the tiny purple bottle! It was always my go-to! Ty for sharing your experience and tips with us!
Just get the Olaplex #3 and use it for anyone with dry, brittle hair. That stuff is seriously a MIRACLE! In my 50's with hair like I had in my 20's. It works. The oil is great too, but really if you want to save time and money skip right to the Olaplex #3. It's pricey but worth every cent and my hair is color treated and curly and now I have soft, healthy curls that are not dry crimping iron looking blonde straw for hair but bouncy and pretty again!
This happened to me after menopause. Before I had thick lush hair that grew very quickly & it was thigh length before I cut it to just below the shoulder a few months ago. The new strands that are growing are extremely thin & wispy compared to my older hair, it tangles & always looks flat instead of having a good amount of volume. It’s a whole other world for me & I’m kind of lost as my old tried & trusted hair routine has all but gone. I’m sixty so I’ve done well but it’s a shock to the system to be sure. It’s definitely menopause as I’ve been without periods for two years odd. I need a new regime so videos like yours are really helpful. 🙋🏻♀️🇬🇧
I hope it helps Sally, it's really a loss when your hair changes along with all the other joyful menopause stuff eh! I'm using the Current Body hair LED lamp now and thats helping a lot (video review on channel). Best of luck! x
Biggest change for me was to only use the Olaplex #7 Bonding oil after a wash and shampoo. Super shiny and softer. Now I have Kate Middleton hair, bouncy and alive. I air dry, then finish with the Revlon hot air brush for smooth finish ( my hair is shoulder length, definitely post menopausal)
That stuff really helped me with losing hair using the shampoo and conditioner. The mask is so good. Makes hair so soft. I will have to try the bonding oil
Interesting Karen. I am now taking some vitamins for hair and skin and I feel they are helping with hair loss. As for olaplex......well, I rlwanted to love it but is not for me. I felt tangled my hair and made it very heavy at the same time. What I can definitely recommend is wella brilliance line and kerastase blond absolu. The later one is expensive and I am not fully blonde but brings back softness and manageability is a lovely way.
Hi Karen, I agree with what you said about aging, I can't stop looking older but not feeling yourself is uncomfortable. Your hair looks absolutely beautiful in the photo. Big hugs to Watson, carry on being brave young man xx
your vid popped up in my recommended & its perfect timing. Ive been going thru same thing with my hair for awhile due to menopause, its so frustrating. hair is more dry/frizzy, more hair loss, receding around the hairline, ends tangled, list goes on&on! I stopped doing highlights/foils because it was making it worse. Great video, thank you for all the info!
My hair changed so drastically after age 50, and I totally understood when you said you always got compliments on yours - I miss those days, for sure! I dye my hair blonde (it's esp gray around the front hairline) and I don't believe it makes the grays softer.
Great video thanks Karen. My hair is extremely fine and thin especially on top (you can see the scalp) but I think it’s genetic as my mum is the same. I hate it and feel it ages me but don’t feel there’s much I can do. I do take after my Dad in that at 50 I only have a few grey hairs (I’ve stopped colouring it and gone back to my natural dark blonde for the first time in years) but if I’m honest, I’d rather have a full head of lovely thick grey hair than really fine thin non-grey hair, it’s a lot easier to colour grey than suddenly grow new hair! However, I generally have good health and not too many wrinkles so can’t complain too much.
I know what you mean about aging, it feels to me like the changes are out of my control. I don't know what's coming next, but I know I am probably not going to like it!
I just found your video and I am so thankful that I did because I feel like there that finally there is someone else in this world that feels EXACTLY the way that I do about their hair! It was like outta nowhere the hair that was on my head was no longer MY hair!! I tried everything I could think of to get the same smoothness and softness that I once had! I had a lot of hair, but its always been very fine and no volume at all! I could never go without blow drying my hair, because it would lay flat against my head! Now it's actually really wavy, and I can just let it air dry, and it actually doesn't look to terrible! I mean its FARRRR from perfect, but it looks ok. Everything about my hair has changed and I don't know what to do with it!! I wonder if it's protein sensitive now, when just a couple of years ago, I had no idea that was a thing!!! My hairdresser just says that I worry to much, or that I'm doing to much to it, thay I need to leave it alone! But I CAN'T!! lol It's so nice to not feel as if I'm the only one that is having the same kind of hair issues! I'm not trying to be vein, I just want it to look nice!!
Hope Watson's news about the tumor isn't terrible. Keeping fingers crossed here. Lots of love, from Belgium! I am 1 year post no periods right now (October 12 2020 to now), so I am getting some bloodwork done in the next month or so. Fortunately nothing much has changed with my hair, yep, this past year I have had chunks come out, which frightened me because I had the same experience going through puberty (3 bald spots from that); straightened itself out after a year, and this time it's the same even though the hair loss was not as bad as back then. Odd how things go!
I have to wash my hair every 2 days as my scalp gets so itchy and my hair is so greasy! I'm going do the strand test what you have mentioned. I hate getting old I'm 60 now and I'm seeing a lot of changes and not good lol
Absolutely devastated here stateside at 51 I've lost a good amount of my hair volume and it's quite devastating. I've watched your video and am hopping on line to make some purchases I thank you so very much for the information you've shared I know it's been a year now I certainly hope that your hair is back to where you feel yourself again 🙂 you're closing remarks, true words! I'm not sure where you're at now in your journey but I have a high frequency wand device that comes with several probes including a comb probe it's supposed to be very helpful for hair regrowth as well, I haven't needed to use it up until now I purchased it originally for my face but I'll be trying that and I'm just passing that little bit of information along to you and you subscribers. They're fairly affordable, I've seen them at many different price points just check reviews and make sure that you're getting a quality device. And guess what? I'm a new subscriber 😊
Hey Karen 👋 I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for Watson your doggy 🐕 and hoping the results are OK. I have truly enjoyed this video, as my bum length bleached hair really needs some love so thanks so much. I definitely want to order some satin bonnets as I think this will really help as my long hair gets so tangled over night it can be a nightmare, and also the Phillip Kingsley Elasteciser EXTREME too. Karen just to let you know also that TK MAXX have loads of salon quality hair products for a lot cheaper than they would be Ordinarily, I got a gorgeous Umberto Gianni sunflower oil from there the other day, it was only £3 and its brilliant, well worth a look. Love Tia 💘
Definitely blow drying makes my hair a lot more bushy and dry. Washing, lots of conditioner, Air drying and flat ironing every third day is the key for me.
I’ve been a hairdresser for 19 yrs. If I could put my 2 cents in I would probably not put any bleach on already dry brittle hair. It will break for sure. It’s def not one size fits all, but olaplex #3(used intermittently), moisture masks, leave in conditioner for your ends, and using a “wet brush” will help allot. I’m peri-meno and mourning the loss of my body and hair I used to know for so long😢 It’s hard to accept sometimes. At least we can find some things though to make us feel better. Hope your fur baby makes a good recovery❤
If you read the instructions for Philip Kingsley it’s a pre wash treatment, as in you dampen your hair, smooth the treatment through it, leave it for at least 20mins ( I leave overnight) then shampoo it out and condition as usual. No wonder your hair feels greasy lol
I'm so hlad I found your channel, wuth all the chsnges with Covid and losing my job of 10 years with my coworkers who were a part of me. All of a sudden at 58 my hair litterally fell out from the root. I havalways had thivk wavy hair so it was'nt necessary to blow dry & style. Just as you said, I dont mind aging but I feel but let me just keep whst made me feel like me. Not only did I start losing my hair but I also gaind 20lbs that shows in my face. I look in the mirror and it feels like im at a fun house. I havent shared this with anyone because I feel they would think I'm nuts. This is the bonnets I bought after the bonnet you got to... And I just started using the satin pillow cases for my face to. Satin Bonnet Lined Sleeping Beanie... Im so glad im not alone...this transition has been devadtating for me even the romance department change... Thank you again😊
Oh sweet Watson! Sending a big hug to him! I hope he recovers soon! My Furbaby had (2) major surgeries on his back legs. Poor babies!! Don’t get me started on MENOPAUSE!! Between my skin becoming dry, sensitive and now I have rosacea and then my hair thinning not to mention the mood swings and the hot flashes 🔥🥵 I feel like I’m going crazy 😜 (and my hubby definitely thinks I’am lol…) Thank you so much for sharing these products and have a wonderful evening! 🥰
Oh gawd, blooming menopause huh! I tried HRT but it didn't work for a few reasons (LOTS about menopause on my other channel "Life as a Zebra"). I do find that Soy Isoflavone supplements help with the hot flashes. Now just for the mood swings lol. x
@@TheBeautyMaverick Thank you so much for the product recommendation. I will definitely check out! And I completely agree about mood swings lol.. I need some Prozac or a case of wine 😜 have a wonderful weekend! 🥰
You are lucky to get to nearly 50 and only just start to go grey. Some of my mates started going grey in their late 20s/ early 30's. I do agree with the hair/eye sight thing though. Im early 40s and still no grey apart from odd straggler and eyesight in good nick. Its vain i know 🤣
I use Pura D'or. It's the only shampoo that works for my thin, fine hair which has gotten 50% thinner over the last several years. I have tried Kerastase Densifique, which is supposed to plump hair up and give it volume (I got one regular sized tube conditioner for $50 and a travel size shampoo for $30) . It did the opposite for my fine, thin hair and it is VERY expensive!. I have also tried John Frieda ultra fine shampoo and conditioner with the leave in spray. This also didn't work well for my miserable strands but it was half the price of Kerastase. I now just stick with Pura D'or as it's the best for my hair.
I've found I can go an extra day without shampooing when I use Olaplex shampoo and conditioner. I don't blow dry my hair, nor do I color it (anymore). My hair is in the best shape it's been in 10 years. I have wavy hair.
i have tangled hair ...thin soft hair , and loose some ., i wash mine one a week, dont style ( not into ) and dont use hair dryer ..menopausal woman post hysterectomy( march 2022) age 51
Oh sweet Watson 🐶. Thanks for the update. Wow is already on my wish list bc of your review & Moroccan Oil kit ironically caught my eye to gift my sister; but I think we might BOTH need it now lol 😁!! Ooo so interesting!!! Love your research based reviews. Thank you so much 💕🌟!!
I hope you dog is well and healed quickly. Thank you for the video. I too am frustrated with volumizing and thickening products. It just waits my hair down. I've tried several hair loss shampoos, conditioners, extracts. Nothing works. My loss is a combination of causes. Years of stress, menopause, the gods that dictate my life😂. Anyways wo dering if you or your viewers have ever tried the rice shampoo bars. Not for hair growth but just to look fuller and healthier scalp. Best wishes❤
I ve been using on and off alpecin lotion for the last 7 years when I was perimenopausal together with myprotein hair supplements and they have helped immensely considering that my hair has always been fine and sparse
Sounds like mine tangly, dry lifeless hair coming out thinner usual products not working nightmare! Started HRT recently and washing it twice a week. Leaving it to dry naturally brushing hair before washing it and afterwards putting an oil through it. So trial and error right now. Fingers crossed
Same hair story here! The healing recipe is, PRE SHAMPOO oil treatment or olaplex 3. After shampooing and conditioning, MUST use a LEAVE IN CONDITIONER!!!! Extremely important!!! Also must use a CREAMY HEAT PROTECTION, if using heat on hair! Tell me if this MIRACLE work 's for you on your FIRST try ❤
New subscriber here! Thanks so much for the info. I tried the hair test. Some stretched and some snapped 😬 Will definitely look into a protein treatment as well as keeping up my hair oiling. Thanks so much 🙂
I haven't seen you for awhile and I thought I'd just drop in to see what you're saying about hair and l must you're looking even younger you look beautiful.
You helped me out soon so much thank you!!! I've been dealing with every symptom u described (except for the grays) and nothing has helped. Strangely the original herbal essences is the only shampoo and conditioner that doesn't cause my hair to wald up. But once it's fully air dried I can feel the dry by ness. Smooth on the outside.... Didn't feel like any product was left behind and yet I can still feel the inner layer felt brittle. . Anyways thank u so much.
Yes... I've tried a number of things after washing/conditioning, air drying hair. I was surprised a sleek & shine Anti frizz treatment didn't work. Finally resorted to old faithful coconut oil. And was pretty pleased. I know not everyone gets good results with coconut oil but I am shocked how brittle, thin & hay like my once abundant hair has become, & it's the only thing that works for me. I have heard such gd things about Olaplex 3 too & would like to try that.
I hope I am not repeating my comment but I can’t find it here so perhaps it hasn’t gone through. I used to have so much hair fall that the carpet used to be covered with hair. I started getting nightmares that I would go bald and even bought a wig which I never used! Since I have started my formulation business I have made a herbal hair oil and a conditioner with argan oil and wheat and quinoa proteins. This has helped to some extent. If anyone wants to try them I can post their samples. Shipping to UK only.
Another fabulous video, thank you Karen. I'm off to order the bonnets 😀 I'm not sure about the highlights making grey hair softer .. that wasn't my experience but maybe it depends on the hair type (mine is fine but there's a lot of it). I've let it go its natural colour now, quite grey on the sides but I love it ❤️
Also check out Abbey Yung’s channel for great hair advice; she’s a Trichologist. I’ve learned some tips to improve my hair. Also the CEO of Arey Grey recommends eating an egg & an avocado daily, taking copper to reduce grey, and b-complex
🙈About those highlights - I’m 53 and was told by my hair stylist to add highlights to blend in the grey. HUGE mistake! My fine, straight hair became super dry, frizzy, tangly and a complete mess! There was nothing soft about my greys so I don’t understand the logic that highlighting will soften grey hair (it could soften the look by blending in but certainly will not soften the strands). I’m now on a mission to fix the damage throwing everything at it proposed by those here on UA-cam. Your hair looks lovely in is video.😊
That's good to know, thanks so much! Best of luck with your hair journey :0) I'm about to use Olaplex as I feel my hair is on the downhill slope again! x
@@TheBeautyMaverick All the very best beautiful Lady! I use Olaplex 3 before Redken Acid Bonding Shampoo. K18 for 4 minutes and then the Redken Acid Bond Leave-in Conditioner. Moroccan Oil on my ends 😅! The hair world is good and calm at the moment 😄
A few years back I kept my hair highlighted for a little while. While it did make my hair feel thicker, it really tangled my hair even worse than ever. Unless I ever have super short hair, I will never do it again. My hair tangles enough as it is. I'm 53 and post menopausal - lately I've noticed quite a bit of hair loss. Watching your video for tips - thank you!
You have great thick hair! And when its thick you don't see the thinning as much when you have fine hair you can! Mine is a nightmare! I'm thinking its been nearly all year and i started taking Vid D around that time my hair is so lank! I'm wondering if its that? So i stopped taking them see what happens 🤔
I'm the same age and my hair is the same but also thin. A couple of hairdessers I went to were really rough with the brushing and I had so much hair come out. I haven't found anything yet that's helped get it back to good condition. I haven't tried Olaplex incase it's a waste of money.
Beauty Maverick....I wish I had your hair.....seems like every week I am experiencing severe hair breakage....I've used some of the products....oliflex no.7 oil helps with frizz....everything I use is a temporary fix....it's a real battle to try to salvage what I've got....is a pixy cut the only real solution? Or a wig? I already wear a hair piece on top of a bun for special occasions....but for every day, I opt for a hat...
Hi Karen, how do you sleep overnight with a treatment. Do you use the bonnet? I've tried tying it up really gently but just can't manage with anything tied in my hair when I go to sleep!
@@TheBeautyMaverick thank you for talking about menopause issues. It is not really talked about on social media and my mum has often said people of her age are 'overlooked' which is so sad and should not be how society is. We are all beautiful regardless of age and all have our own health needs as well as struggles. Talking about changes, tips, products, personal experiences and more help to break to any perceived taboo. So thank you. I've shared your video with her too 🙂
Hello! You have the most amazing hazelnut blonde hair color! Is it a 7N or is it more cinnamon in real life? Thanks for your advice in the video- I'm 52
Aww thanks! I'm not sure what 7N means, is that a hair dye? This is my natural colour, strawberry blonde apparently although getting cooler as I age! x
Male pattern baldness affects many women in menopause. Men lose hair due to androgens(male hormones). We have these same hormones but estrogen is a gatekeeper so to speak to prevent the androgens from attacking the root. When we go through menopause, we lose estrogen and our hair roots are unprotected. There are ways to prevent this from happening. Minoxidil helps, I’ve used it. You do not have to wash it every day. Just apply it Daly or twice a day. You have to use it continuously or the hair will start falling out again. Spironlactone is a prescription you can request from your doctor will hold back these androgens and allow your hair to grow back it can also prevent hair from growing on your face. These whiskers are also due to androgens. Ask your doctor for 200 mg for effective treatment.
Yes I've discussed all this in previous videos, thanks. I reviewed Minoxidil. I have PCOS so talk about that over on my health channel. Estrogen via HRT would be the best way to avoid the hair loss as androgens are much less during menopause (I discussed this with the gynaecologist I worked with when he put me on anti androgens years ago). x
Get rid of laurel sulphate shampoos. Condition your hair first, wash condition. Massage your scalp. It's sickening to think we search for things to help, we waste so much money. Have you noticed no samples for shampoo etc. Get a good haircut, 90%stress gone. Any young woman watching, we age in ten year cycles. What you do to your hair now will show later. The sun is evil to hair, sunscreen creams for hair are helpful and hats. Getting an older looking face is so distressing, stress is a very very big culprit and cortisol. Please may you doggy heal well👍
You need to do the test when wet. For protein you can use olive oil, eggs, mayo, etc. But don't overdo it or it will cause issues. Once or twice a month is good.
It’s not about chasing products, it about chasing root cause: HORMONAL DECLINE. Get your progesterone & estrogen tested & address what’s out of range for your age. Most require prog & estrogen rx’s after meno. I lost about 30% of my hair (before I figured this out on my own). MDs & derms we’re worthless & just said ‘this happens after meno’. So I went on the lowest dose estrogen patch & bioidentical progesterone & guess what: my hair fall halted & over the course of a year or 2, new regrowth was rampant & my hair returned to age 35 volume/thickness.
As discussed in my hormone videos, I can't take HRT as it worsens my migraines. Also in the UK you can't just "get your hormones tested", unless you go private which is expensive. I know that hormones cause hair decline but with the products I've found, it can be helped :0)
I have always had straight silky hair and now aged 55 it is shedding more, hence it is thinner, i use plantur brown and leave on scalp for 15 minutes and it also colours the baby hairs and some i have at the front,, also i use a combo of coconut and castor oil with almond, once a week which leave in for 3 hours before washing, it seems to thicken it slightly, my greys look like highlights but it takes a few washes John frieda grey away does the same thing. which i used, i alternate with dove pro age range from savers which does thicken it and make it silky soft, but i am still hoping i can get the volume back
I strongly disagree. The number 3 does 100% what is says. People do not use it correctly . It is a restorative product not a conditioner. I am a hairstylist and myself have been able to grow my hair well past my shoulders using this consistantly and properly. As for the other products they are good but # 3 is the best
You said it beautifully. You are correct. We are not trying to look younger we are trying to keep what we have because we like it. Great video! Well done!

Everything about my hair has changed and I don't know what to do with it!! I wonder if it's protein sensitive now, when just a couple of years ago, I had no idea that was a thing!!! My hairdresser just says that I worry to much, or that I'm doing to much to it, thay I need to leave it alone! But I CAN'T!! lol
It's so nice to not feel as if I'm the only one that is having the same kind of hair issues! I'm not trying to be vein, I just want it to look nice!!
Same here. My hair isn’t my hair. It feels like straw nothing helps its very upsetting
Totally agree just want my old hair back.
Thanks so much Rose and I'll keep everything crossed that your hair is better soon! Welcome :0) x
Err, that's what I did - dampened my hair, left in overnight, then washed out and conditioned. I'm not sure what you think I did?!
@@TheBeautyMaverick You said you "washed your hair, rinsed it" before applying product.
I will keep my fingers crossed Watson comes back Cancer Free, your hairy looks fantastic its looks really glossy and heathly
Fantastic my hair is my thing too I'm pre menopause Tring different ways to take care of my hair it's helping.
Sweet Watson. I hope he heals quickly & completely! ❤️🐾❣️
Thanks so much Heather. x
You have amazing skin, I will be 49 in a few days and I have terribly dry skin and throat. Hopefully, my hair stays okay.
Check out Dr. Idriss’ channel; her advice has helped my skin so much
Karen your hair looks good.
Dear Watson I wish him better soon it is a good thing he has such caring owners xx
Welcome to the satin bonnet club 😁
I think the Pillow case is best for skin, but the bonnet is good for your hair
Its vain i know 🤣
Yes I agree, I think others in my family went grey much younger. x
Bless him get better soon Watson .I feel you with the hair I’m 50 June 17 the joy in getting older 🤦♀️
Oooh a fellow Gemini too :0) x
I've found I can go an extra day without shampooing when I use Olaplex shampoo and conditioner. I don't blow dry my hair, nor do I color it (anymore). My hair is in the best shape it's been in 10 years. I have wavy hair.
Love your percentage measures. I've been using them for 10 years and everyone dismisses me. I know the reality.
i have tangled hair ...thin soft hair , and loose some ., i wash mine one a week, dont style ( not into ) and dont use hair dryer ..menopausal woman post hysterectomy( march 2022) age 51
Ithanks for sharing I just cut 8 inches off my length because my hair was shedding and tangeling like crazy for the first time.
K18 products really work
Sounds like mine tangly, dry lifeless hair coming out thinner usual products not working nightmare! Started HRT recently and washing it twice a week. Leaving it to dry naturally brushing hair before washing it and afterwards putting an oil through it. So trial and error right now. Fingers crossed
Thank you Karen this is so helpful - I am going to try several of these. The satin caps look so pretty!
Can try rosemary oil or rosemary/clove rinse
Nice tresses with or without greys. I concur with the experience.
Brilliant video karrn xx love your hair style xx
Same hair story here! The healing recipe is, PRE SHAMPOO oil treatment or olaplex 3. After shampooing and conditioning, MUST use a LEAVE IN CONDITIONER!!!! Extremely important!!! Also must use a CREAMY HEAT PROTECTION, if using heat on hair! Tell me if this MIRACLE work 's for you on your FIRST try ❤
You know what my mom says Karen? When I go, oh it's quite tough, menopause and all. "Wait until you're 75." LOL!
Rice water helps some
New subscriber here! Thanks so much for the info. I tried the hair test. Some stretched and some snapped 😬 Will definitely look into a protein treatment as well as keeping up my hair oiling. Thanks so much 🙂
❤ thank you so much for sharing aaallll this info Karen - you are so generous and so helpful 😊💕💕💕xxx
I agree with you about ageing! Great video Karen x
Warm Coconut oil pack does wonder for my now brittle, wispy hair. The result only lasts a few days though.
K18 has made a massive difference to my dry course peri menopausal hair
I hope I am not repeating my comment but I can’t find it here so perhaps it hasn’t gone through. I used to have so much hair fall that the carpet used to be covered with hair. I started getting nightmares that I would go bald and even bought a wig which I never used!
Since I have started my formulation business I have made a herbal hair oil and a conditioner with argan oil and wheat and quinoa proteins. This has helped to some extent. If anyone wants to try them I can post their samples. Shipping to UK only.
Another fabulous video, thank you Karen. I'm off to order the bonnets 😀
I'm not sure about the highlights making grey hair softer .. that wasn't my experience but maybe it depends on the hair type (mine is fine but there's a lot of it).
I take collagen suppliment and there is some improvement so far .
Collagen helped but I felt my body got use to it unfortunately when I stopped taking collagen my hair got even more worse right after
🙈About those highlights - I’m 53 and was told by my hair stylist to add highlights to blend in the grey.
I have a silk pillow and that really helps to keep my hair soft abd less frizzy. I have the Phillip Kingsley Elasticizer. Will have to try it.
Will try the snap test next. Thanks
I know how your feeling about your hair I’m not happy with mine at all at the mo x
once you start skipping periods it usually takes 2 years to stop completely
Satin bonet is good but it always fall off my head during the night.
So I find myself waking up many time to put back on the darn thing.
Every cell in your body needs vitamin d... take a d3 EVERYDAY ( make sure it doesn't contain soy, wheat ) 👍🥰
A HUGE thank you!!! From Belgium 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Not in menopause but hair is just like this
Brill video than you Karen. Sending love and cuddles to Watson and get well soon beautiful boy xx
Thanks so much Lesley 🙏
You look AMAZING!
I had the dry issue and tried bond repair, apparently you can over do it. I have been hydrating now to try to repair it, that seems to be better.
You look fabulous and very youthful and thought u were in your thirties ❤
Love to Watson 💕💓💗 lovely video xx
Thank you for a fantastic video and all the info. 🙏
You are very welcome, thanks for watching and commenting :0) x
Appreciate your videos very interesting to me.....
Hi Karen, how do you sleep overnight with a treatment. Do you use the bonnet? I've tried tying it up really gently but just can't manage with anything tied in my hair when I go to sleep!
With a treatment in I don't sleep with the bonnet no, just on my pillow and sometimes I put a small hand towel over the pillow. x
Interesting will check if my hair lacks protein/hydration
It snapped 😢
Thanks Karen. That was so helpful
Did you see the peptide hair treatment that Deciem were or did release to stimulate healthy hair growth?
I saw it but haven't looked into it. x
This is my natural colour, strawberry blonde apparently although getting cooler as I age! x
Thank you xx ps wishing Watson better soon x
The Alpecin caffeine shampoo looks interesting, but the packaging looks like a car shampoo bottle, unfortunately that puts me off 😒
Did you find you got any breakage at the root? Xx
Not right at the root but close to it - I have lots of hairs that stick up now lol.
Please may you doggy heal well👍
Me sitting here pulling out a hair I don’t even have enough of 😂 mine stretches. What’s a good protein for hair?
You need to do the test when wet. For protein you can use olive oil, eggs, mayo, etc. But don't overdo it or it will cause issues. Once or twice a month is good.
Do you have a link for shipping to the US? Everything I put in US it said no page found.
I live in the UK so can't help I'm afraid. x
Karen, how long did it take you to bring your hair back to 90% of its original condition? Thanks
A few weeks to a month I'd say x
Hi Karen are you still using the alpacin
What about cancer risk?
I have always had straight silky hair and now aged 55 it is shedding more, hence it is thinner, i use plantur brown and leave on scalp for 15 minutes and it also colours the baby hairs and some i have at the front,, also i use a combo of coconut and castor oil with almond, once a week which leave in for 3 hours before washing, it seems to thicken it slightly,
my greys look like highlights but it takes a few washes John frieda grey away does the same thing. which i used, i alternate with dove pro age range from savers which does thicken it and make it silky soft, but i am still hoping i can get the volume back
Thank you dear Karen, very helpful, my hair is very tin and I have hair loss
Olaplex is one of those many overrated overpriced products out there
It depends on your experience - its done wonders for me in the past many times, just doesn't work now lol. x
Gave me terrible acne, I was bummed!!
I strongly disagree.
The number 3 does 100% what is says.
People do not use it correctly .
It is a restorative product not a conditioner.
I am a hairstylist and myself have been able to grow my hair well past my shoulders using this consistantly and properly.
As for the other products they are
good but # 3 is the best
@@carolynnmarkiewicz6015is it suitable for the hair that lacks moisture or the hair that lacks protein?
LOL.. I thought menopause?? Aren't you kind of young.. but then I see below that you're nearing 50?? wow.. you look good!
Oh wow, thanks! :0) x
Will you embrace the grey Karen? I'm trialling it !😬
Not a chance lol. As soon as its noticeable to me, I'll be having highlights xx
