So the hood is the bonnet and the roof is the hood? The trunk is the boot and fender is the wing. Well, the whole car is beautiful in any language. Informative vid.
@@sebastianf7177 Unfortunately not. The car that I was looking at was for sale in central France and turned out to be a bit of a 'hotchpotch' of a car that had been converted from LHD to right hand but hadn't had 100% of a job done on it. In the end, I bought a 1987 S3 Lotus Esprit from a dealer in Essex. A very different car but good fun.
Good review. Great little car. Owned a 2000 spider '73 for eleven years. Learned much. Alfa Romeo Owners Club of San Diego CA was a good source for info. Only tow was due to a lever broke that activated the clutch which I found at scrap yard. Alfa's are great cars but they do require patience at times. Viva Alfa Romeo!
Nice review - thanks. The only thing I'd offer is to use more light and get the camera in closer. Sometimes you were pointing out items that were in shadow and hard to see. Still, loads of good advice!
@ John Mayhead. Does the VIN number has to be stamped on the bulk head? Asking as I own a spider veloce and the VIN is on a plate (pop rivoted to the bulk head). Thank you for your expertise and guidance
All 105,s are Giulias saloon, coupe, and spiders. Red or burgundy is not uncommon, I had a silver 82 with burgundy interior. South Africa was only country outside of Italy that Alfa’s were built.
They really are maintenance needy and its not a simple thing. I could have bought an extra house with what I spent on them between 1977 and 1989. They have the feedback of a sportsbike.

Very Splendid Alfa Romeo Spider. I'm italian and in in my Life I saw lot of Alfa Spider but the Red interior are very beutiful. Guido
From somebody who is looking to buy one shortly, thank you for an excellent video. Great advice.

@@damientaylor1 RHD to LHD!!!, what a crime. On the other hand, with only 350ish RHD Duettos ever built he just made my '66 RHD even rarer.
I had a lovely 105 coupe and various Alfettas but the spider will always be the teenage dream that ‘got away’.

Good review for the mechanicals. See vintage customs video for body considerations.
Thank you for the overview regarding the Spider. By chance do you have a video on the Rover 1997 Discovery. Thanks again.
Man that sounds amazing
thank you for posting this. I am looking at buying one!
That was good, enjoyed that, thanks. Reckon you could review the Triumph Spitfire unless you've already done so. Thanks.

Beautiful cars.
Great review, subbed
I would love owning one of these cars but the maintenance on these cars in the states are terribly expensive.
No they’re not. Parts are readily available from multiple suppliers. This is a false statement
To keep costs down, owners will have to do quite a bit of the maintenance themselves.
Thanks!
My Gawd! Blue exterior with a Red interior. How could that be possible? Why are you calling this Spider a Giulia?

i had a 1600 spider
Uh reverse has no synchro😑
Heads are known to crack too. Every year engine has its own quarks.
Not true at all.
Man., nice.. But what with the stutter...
So sad that nearly all of the South African Alfas of that era - many were sold here - are now overseas and mostly in the UK. What a loss for SA fans.
Plus you have to buy a tow truck
Your brain too needs a tow truck ..
@@lellomatera3870 don’t be jealous cuz u don’t have a brain

The American bumper version is UGLY, this is a nice shape !
Engine = Big fail still
