Beauty, one year older than mine. Those are called "phone dial" wheels. Also, that 2.0l engine was the same in all Spiders. No crunch going into second...a good thing.
How funny, I ran across you review of your Trailhawk (I wan't one!) and this video popped up. I have an 86 Alfa spider Veloce, black instead of red. Your dad's paint is in great condition! These are really fun cars. I rebuilt my engine last fall with 10:1 pistons, and they make a big difference.
I grew up in riding in one of these same color to. Great car, extremely reliable, great on gas and just fun to drive and be a passenger in. It's an absolute chick magnet the only difference is that we had the chromoly wheels. 20 years ago this car costed at $10,000 and it's pretty much still remained at the same price.
I just inherited this exact same and year car from my father n law who passed. It was sitting for about 3 years in a a barn. I changed the cap and rotors, plugs, drained the gas, changed oil, née battery and it started right up. I noticed a small pinhole leak on the top head Which is bubbling a tiny amount of radiator fluid. But other than that it runs fine. Honestly, I have no idea what to do with it as I’m a motorcycle guy. Anyone out there have any tips for what else I should do with it to make sure it’s ok? Thanks much!
