Sup Tommy😊 Good To See You Again Sir You Got One Of My Most Favorite SB Of My Childhood In The 1990s In Chicago. I've Rode On A 1991 GMC Ward-Amtran C6000 (366 Gas V8 - Allison AT) 66 Pass Bus Operated By Rachel's Bus Company (Defunct) At The Time. This Bus Just Like This One Had Yellow Gold Tan Interior (Shine Good In Sunlight) Mocha Seats. I've Rode On The GMC & International 3800 Chassis Only Never Got A Chance To Ride The Ford B Series Chassis. If Only I Can Find Me A 1986 Ford Ward-Amtran Model That Would Be Gold To Me She Would Not See Snow & Paint That NYC Spec Yellow Tint The Windows & Yellow Rims Too Just Fire🔥. Anyway I Appreciate This Video With This Bus It Is Very Rare On YT. Much Love Fist Bump💙 Peace💚
I can only speak as a passenger, but I rode on several of these as a child, and not a single one of them broke down often. Those Ward buses also had the most comfortable seats I ever sat in. Also, there's nothing I love more than hearing an 8.2L Detroit Diesel in good condition.
My dad drove a 1991 Thomas Chevrolet 66 passenger school bus with the 8.2 fuel pincher just before it was retired in Indiana in 2001. That engine sounds just like I remember as a little kid.
Awesome! My grandmother drove a 1989 Ward GMC issued by the county. Her's was perhaps a 66-passenger. I lived in two counties in West Virginia. Any bus I rode with an AmTran or Ward Volunteer body was crazy slow when crossing a mountain. One was a Ward GMC. One time, a substitute driver put an automatic version in something lower than drive trying to get it to go faster up a hill. Instantly created his own version of a "Screamin' Jimmy" lol.
Very nice bus and a great video. I own a 2003 Thomas Freightliner FS65. It took three years to convert. What a great ride. 60107 Illinois says hi. My profile pix is my bus.
Happy new year to all of my subscribers! I have made a New Year’s resolution to create more videos! I am going through some older content and getting videos, updated and uploaded! I hope you enjoy!
Years Ago They Also Had A GMC On A Blue Bird Body As Well As GMC On A Carpenter Body, A GMC Propane Truck,A GMC Single Cab Wrecker Truck,A GMC Fire Truck, A GMC Crane Truck, A GMC Bridge Truck, A GMC Box Truck, And Even A GMC Single Axel Dump Truck.
This is my all time favorite bus! I rode in these in middle school! Nice video! I'd pay you to be able to ride in that bus to relive my past and love for this bus!
I absolutely loved those GMs with the Detroit. They were the best to drive only issues i ever had was little hard to get good heat in bitter cold and somw of those GMs liked to wander a bit on the road. My first bus was a 88 with a Ward body.
I’ve got to count em up. Lol About 20, going to be more into restoration mode now instead of acquisitions unless an opportunity to trade up comes along.
Ward/AmTran buses were always my favorites as a kid. Love the body lines, door design, and I always loved that 'click' sound when the door handle latches. Don't know why, but I've always loved that sound. A question, though. I've noticed that all your buses I've seen thus far all have hydraulic brakes instead of air brakes. Any reason for not acquiring any buses with air brakes?
Great looking bus I drove a
75 Chevrolet Thomas bus when I was in high school 😊😊😊
Sup Tommy😊

@@TommyRetroThis Is The Exact Same Bus That Actually Also Had A Manual Transmission Years Ago Pretty Much.

Be cool if you could find an 79 to 84 Wayne Ford, GMC/Chevy or International S series with gas engines.
That is beautiful Tommy! Keep up the great video!
Back when they made real school buses compared to the junk they make today.
Burlington isn't really far from me nice work
They need to bring back the "jack knife" doors! I miss those!
nice to see u back, keep the clips coming
Happy New Year
Little FYI, those 8.2 Detroits don’t have glow plugs.
Awesome bus , Classic 💀👌🏼.
Very nice sounding detroit diesel
The 57 International I rode in the early 60s had a Ward body. 5 speed non-synchro.
good find Tommy.
Who do you get to insure your buses? I'm having a hard time finding insurance 😮💨
Hello everyone and New subscribers from Rensselaer Indiana
Nice bus. How many are you at now?
I’ve got to count em up. Lol About 20, going to be more into restoration mode now instead of acquisitions unless an opportunity to trade up comes along.
Nice unit!
What kinda transmission ? Alison figure it would be standard for year ?
Allison At545.

How is the 1985 Chevy Bluebird?
Doing well, parked for the winter!
How’s the I S1800
S1800 is doing great! Parked for the winter.
In summer more videos
Wards lasted forever. Some 30 years of service or more
Please help me find a Ward bus!!! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Would you buy a gillig transit bus
We’ve got two of them!
4th gear is locked out. fix it and it'll do 70
That's a 545 it is what it is. No such thing as locked out. You'd have to swap the rear and being a non turbo you'd lose a lot of power
Do you plan on buying buses from Wisconsin
I would like to get a Wisconsin four-way reds bus. Possibly a CV200?
Tommy get a female family member to drive the I S1800 bus n do a driving video
Those red lights could get you stopped
