I dont feel bad for them. Two in my friend group are lawyers. One was a long time defender. She told me one time in ten years she fought for innocence. The rest of the time her job was to make sure they were charged with the crime they committed. Ask the other one if that's normal. She said yes. Public defender's suck as function of society. They shouldn't even be called lawyers. They should be called punishment assistants.

I know that bail is a touchy subject with many, and I know that poor people do get stuck in jail even with very low bonds for non violent, minor cases. But we seem to have went way too far when people who have taken lives of others can actually bond out. Good for judge for thinking thru the decision.

So I’m from Western Mass. A very good friend of mine, Kayla, was raped and murdered by a serial killer in Springfield. He multiple times attempted to get bail lowered to an amount his sub-human self could post. Luckily he wasn’t able to and at 3 years sober I had to clear up some 5 year old warrants and found myself in the same jail and pod as him. Needless to say while it may not be spiritual or conducive to my sobriety I quickly discovered a predator such as this isn’t anything but a sheep when confronted by an individual who isn’t a 125lb 27 year old single mother. From what I hear he’s having a rough time surviving in prison and that’s what he deserves. While acts of violence will never bring back anyone’s friends and loved ones, there is a bit of relief imagining them feeling even a small percentage of the same fear their victims felt.

I experienced a two-levels of separation situation similar to this where an ex shot the girlfriend and their infant and attempted to conceal the crime by burning the bodies on her apartment mattress. It was a horrific crime that made the news. He was caught the same day.
Many people overlook the impact that crimes have on friends and family. My sister-in-law was devastated for a significant time after the murder took place. I can only imagine how the poor woman's parents were impacted by losing their daughter and grandchild in such a horrific way. These monsters, both the killer and his accomplices, should never see the light of day again. Helping your friend dispose of his ex-girlfriend's corpse is almost as bad as being the killer. I would only agree with a reduced sentence if one of them testifies against the others to button up the case as open/shut.

The friends and family of the victims are all still alive, it's so disgusting and disrespectful some of these channels can be. A lot of Judges go by emotions she goes by Law can’t be mad at that.

This Judge just contradicted herself with this bond! She said setting a limit so high is the same as denying bond? but she couldn't do that with him b/c his of his charges but then said it and did it? I'm very confused with her logic! I've also seen this Jessica Blanch many times on these posts and she loves her authority and the ability to control peoples lives and not in a good way, that's my impression anyway? It's like certain officers who are clearly overly excited when they put their uniform on and it goes to their head!? They're usually easy to pick out b/c of their attitude and as soon as they start speaking.
