  • While I think it is very difficult to learn the dynamic heel action of tour-caliber golfers, it is absolutely possible to learn how to stay off the toes (forefeet) during the swing, which is nearly a universal problem for amateurs.

Can't move away from the ball if you're on the toes or balls. Nor can your body turn effectively. The point to be made is that keeping the weight moving toward the heels doesn't influence ball flight but allows for it. If you're concentrating on the heels and you're hitting the ball funny, check the hands and arms first before you mess up your pivot. Sorry, it is possible to do this. In your routine/process, if you tap the heels during your waggle and then start your swing by "slamming" the trail heel into the ground, the natural biometric response will be to "smash" the left heel down to start the downswing. It's a natural response you've set up in your feet. Foot rhythm if you will. Try it. Viktor Hovlind does that, very obviously.
