A pair of EV12's it is then. Thank you for the excellent demo and actual listen 0:10 ing recommendations. 31lbs! ouch. Update : I went with a pair of the Mackie Trash212 go. 36lbs, ouch ouch ouch.
Viewer comment on EV12: Amazing speaker for what it is! It's not QUITE on par with a QSC K12.2...but it's close. And, you know...the whole battery thing.
Awesome video! I can't wait too try the Everse 12 on the ELX200 12SP. Dj Joe Bunn is using the ELX200 12 over the ELX200 12SP and said it was a amazing system without having to carry a big heavy sub.
Thanks Shane for your feedback! Next test: EV12 over Bose Sub2. I think that will be the ultimate match! EV also makes the 15"/58lbs ELX-15 sub which would be a great match. That sub puts out 133db! Still haven't tried the EV12 with Bose Sub1. Big top over small bottom will look funny though.
@WWeiss-nv5vz I bet that sub 2 will be a great pair. But I bet the sub 1 will give a nice little add to the sound range. The EV subs are nice and I like matching brands as well as the great app they have. I will be getting a Everse 12 soon and then decided the sub I want to match with it. I am definitely looking forward to your next video!
@@shaneberckman Both Bose Sub1 or EV ELX 200-12sp have the same limitations: Heavy bass tracks over 100dB they will both bottom out. Very hard to hear unless top is shut down and play only the sub. At reasonable volumes under 90dB they add a solid low end to any top! For live DJ work or live band over 50 people, I'm going straight to Sub2!
I bought a pair of the 12s after using a pair of 8s for a couple of years. I’ve noticed you could increase the gain around 3 or 4 db before you start hitting the limiter with the 12s. At first I thought it wasn’t that much louder until I increased the gain. Also when you are hitting the limiter the sound is way more clear than with the 8s. I’ve only used them twice and loving them so far. I ordered some covers from tuki covers which I recommend since the everse 12 bag has a lot of negative comments.
Thanks for the info! I haven't done any max dB testing with the 12. They sound like they are not even breaking a sweat at high volume! Someone called EV tech support and they said when you hit the limiter you safely have another 3dB of headroom!
