They claim characters in games are unrealistic all the time but don't say shit about female athletes, cheer leaders and XXX stars. That alone destroys this argument.
Oh, even worse. Like some comments here already mention, many modern female game character are intentionally made less attractive than the original model or voice actor (Forbidden west, Forspoken, the upcoming Fable, etc)
Honestly, if there was a video game character that looked like simone biles or katie ledecky, you'd prob be complaining about them being just some other masculinized, ugly, flat chested, muscular woke female characters.

I don't really know what type of game Stellar Blade is, but I hope this turns into a case like Nier: Automata, where people come for the sexy lady on the cover and stay for a very compelling story and characterization.
The 'unrealistic' beauty standards are achievable but requires proper fitness. Game characters usually run long distances and scale buildings and mountains, sometimes they move like gymnasts. Doing these things often will usually make them fit. unless they devour entire dinosaurs, then they become aloy.
The "offended" doesn't want to exercise or does anything requiring effort, so they want to bring down those who put effort to make their lives better, to validate themselves.
The kardashians are still not the peak of crazy proportions in real life. For example there's that lady who complained about plane seats being too small, gracie bon. Or there's a completely roided out chick, natalya kuznetsova built bigger than most dudes. To say x or y is unrealistic is just a poor attempt at justifying how they're jealous that they aren't attractive like the character.
Honestly make all people beautiful again in terms of trying to be fit, clean, wearing flattering clothes and try their best to be kind and good people.
Seeing Kratos in God of War 2018 was the catalyst that got me into bodybuilding. Idealizing the male & female form in media and entertainment was never about creating a standard that people expect you to live up to, it’s about creating an IDEAL to strive towards, but (by definition) never actually reach.
The idea of trying to re-engineer what guys find attractive is absolutely hilarious. Men like what men like. Nothing will change that. As a fan of AI, Shad should know the sort of images that 99% of people use the tool for.
Male human’s attraction cues evolved over millions of years. Anyone that thinks they can can this in a decade or two is insane. Actually, looking at photos of a lot of those people it is pretty clear many are just that,
They seem to forget that women ALSO want to like the appearance of the avatar they're staring at for hours. When I play a girl, I want to play a *pretty* girl, dang it!! That's why, unless I'm modded to all heck that playthrough, I always play an argonian in Skyrim. Everyone is so. Dang. *_UGLY!_* XD
How strange. I think my post here was hidden for some reason. (At least I _think_ it was this thread; it's not showing all replies and I'm getting notifications from it). At any rate, all I said was that even we women prefer playing the "unrealistic" attractive characters. If I'm going to be staring at an avatar for hours, I want them to _actually_ look good, not these characters they keep insisting are "more realistic" and "modern" and crap.
@@AlbusPercivalWulfrykDumbledore The fact that just a single game prior they were still reasonably attractive and didn’t look like a bunch of old maids on purpose.

Outside of college/university, the internet, and music gigs they baisically don't exist. Unfortunately I work near a university, spend a decent amount of time on the internet and frequently go to metal gigs (often the worst for drawing the weirdos).
That's the thing. There are only a few thousand of them but they each have a hundred social media accounts on each platform so it looks like their opinions matter. Plus they know if they acted half as retarded IRL as they do online someone would give them a thorough introduction to the pavement.
The thing that really invalidates their messages about Body Positivity and "impossible beauty standards," is that they're not the same for men and women. They have no problem expecting and desiring men with impossible beauty standards, and no problem with fat shaming men for even the tiniest bit of flab. You need not to look further than with the character of Thor. Since Phase 1 of the MCU, he was more sexualized than Scarlet Johansson. But as the MCU progressed the female characters had milder and milder outfits while Thor remained as eye candy with the exception of Endgame, where he was constantly mocked and ridiculed for his appearance and mannerisms. Rendered as stereotype of a fat man drinking bear and playing Fortnite. Then in Love & Thunder, Thor gets back in shape and... he's back to being eye candy, even being stripped naked on screen, much to the pleasant surprise of the female characters. And where were Feminist criticisms pointed towards? The depictions of the female characters like Black Widow.
Keep your in mind that every time they say “but it’s looks like a child” and they are shaming you for liking it they are equating you to the worst scum of the earth just because it’s not bad art. This is strange because in the new Suicide Squad game they made Poison Ivy into a child and she’s ugly as sin.
To obese American women it probably does look like a child because as soon as their metabolisms caught up they all ballooned and never saw a skinny woman ever again.
Hard to say for sure, i guess he started out from a very different era and corner in gaming and yt/internet culture and... just an observation, he has no kids and isn't married?, things that tend to influence how conservative you approach some topics i still have some respect for him, especially from the time he protested against the various internet regulation bills.. even though that is now long ago
Because Trump, libs went nuts, and it is hard to go un-nuts when there was so much of the infosphere everyone relies on for their "factual" opinions going nuts too
The sad part is that they're complaining in an industry where they don't even participate. I don't see them playing games that are "politically correct," but they praise such games while attacking others (without playing!). It's like forcing a chef to cook their way but won't eat it themselves...
Frankly I love the look of the protagonist and not just because of her hind quarters. I used to draw characters like her cute face usually Asian sci fi edge, looooong hair, this game was made for me. Btw I’m glad you guy are covering this, I want this game known
I swear there’s a slider on every “modern gaming devs” model import programme that adds an extra 15-30% body fat onto all female models starting with the cheeks but removing it from the digital curves. You look at the people the models are based off and they are healthy, fit and generally conventionally attractive, as soon as the 3D scans done it seems to never resemble the women anymore hug the men remain remarkable true to form in their digital incarnations, plus often a more chiselled jaw, muscle tone and change of eye colour.
OH, no, the character model IS a true scan of Shin Jae-eun's body and I'll admit to looking at more than enough photos of her to verify that yeah, there was no enhancement in the game of her assets. She is a well-built, sexy woman with, let's just say it, nicely sized breasts, wide hips, and a curvy butt - some have tried to claim she's flat but clearly they didn't see some of her...spicier photos. Legitimately, she HAS the kind of hips in some shots where they're well and away wider than the waist, her arms and legs are very slim indeed, etc. Point IS, what you see in the game came from her, even if different outfits ACCENTUATE those things in a way that seem to amplify them (in the same way, the model she's based on looks significantly curvier depending on the outfit she's wearing, the pose and the angle - I did my research, not for nefarious reasons but because I wanted to get to the bottom of those "unrealistic" and "enhanced" claims. The FACE of the character is altered somewhat, probably for likeness reasons (they'd have to pay her more I'd wager) but even that is not that altered - she has the same cute, slightly large ears, the same face and nose shape - mainly it's the eyes and hair and maybe mouth but a lot of her face structure IS there. SPEAKING of uglifying and ALOY, have you SEEN how beautiful the model ALOY is based on is in real life? Gorgeous. And look what they did to her face. It's WEIRD. They deliberately made her less attractive than than real woman SHE is based on. Now, I still love the Horizon games, but I'm just saying, she DID get a bit uglier between round 1 and 2.
I see you're a man of culture! But along with Aloy we have the case for Mary Jane in Insomniac's Spider-Man 2. Boy, they gave her a jawline you can plow snow with, and she looks more like Peter's aunt or something. And then, when you look up the person they used as the model, she looks really pretty! Game devs really beat their female characters with the ugly stick and say it's "realistic". So what they're saying is women IRL are uggo bridge trolls lmao
@@sparking023 If you search, Mary Jane in Spider-Man 2 is basically a copy of one of Insomniac's writing interns (except the intern has dark eyes and dyes her hair blond), rather than the body model. Guess she was who they looked for to be "realistic", aka a Californian woman.
I'm on the same page as Ty. I don't want to play as a female character because I want to self-insert as the character and I can't do that playing as a women-- I amso can't do that with a lot of male characters either, though. Give me a faceless and/or voiceless MC any day, or better yet, a customizable one. But in any case, make characters attractive. They should all be attractive by default, and ahould only be ugly if it is relevant to the character.
Meanwhile I'm a roleplayer and rather than completely immerse myself in the character I try to make decisions based on who I think their mind would work and play accordingly.
to me that sounds very weird and narrow-minded. do you really need a specific look to immerse? you could be the next disney actor, they all got that same mindset. i play Guild Wars 2 for a long time now. there are 5 playable species, 2 are more or less human (humans and the taller norn), another one humanoid plant and the other two are cats and rats. guess what, the humans aren't very popular, at least not any more than any other species. most people care about values, not about gender or look. i would never use myself in any game as a main character if i could be something else. i am myself all the rest of my life without a choice, so why would i waste the one opportunity to try something different?
@@BayWa4eva If the game is good enough that I can play through it multiple times, I'll replay it roleplaying as other characters, but my first playthrough is always a self-insert when possible. If the game is good, I'll still play it, but if I have options to mod it to either look more like me or make the character faceless and voiceless/neutral, I will. As an example, a few years ago I played that Jedi: Fallen Order, and I could only barely force myself through the first few hours because I just didn't like playing as Cal. Hated his voice and appearance. Then I installed a mod that changed him to Darth Revan and anouther that heavily muffled his voice like it was in the helmet, and I immediately fell in love with the game.

Its only when its to guys by showing attractive female forms that massive criticism from EVERY major outlet x500 happens. This is why the backlash is coming. Its only just starting and years from its height yet.
Its funny what people on the internet deem "unrealistic". Maybe im spoiled, going to university in Finland where im constantly surrounded by drop dead gorgeous young women. But except for the obviously plastic girls or cartoons in movies/games, its very rare to see one who looks better than the girls i see in the real world wearing half the makeup. Someone like Scarlette Johansson would be considered "moderately above average". Or maybe Americans are just used to a lower standard for "normal" due to the obesity epidemic? Though thats coming to Finland too, slowly but surely.
it's surprising to hear that tyranth won't play as a woman in videogames. the reason given sounds incredibly similar to the reasons people give for wanting diversity and representation in games. never heard of somebody on this side of the woke/representation debate require fictional characters to be representative of them. legitimately kind of interesting.
Seems like many of the trans people he's not secure with his identity. Like if he plays a female character it makes him gay or something.... It's the kind of thing I always thought was a fake parody of the conservative but I guess some people are like that.
and the Horizon series firmly placed itself on my 'do not buy under any circumstances' list for making the female protagonist a 2.5/10. Same with Fable. But the same people calling anyone liking a attractive women a porn addict have no problem with male characters being shirtless and celebrate female? with a schl .. g instead of v.
At least this game didn’t disrespect the beautiful model like how western video game companies do when they uglify female characters and are way off the model they base off. What western video games companies do too Mary Jane and Aloy is super disrespectful to those models and they should sue them for making their likeness uglier than they are.
Because of the broad anti-humanism the outrage mob and the overlords that dictate their views exhibit, I have to assume pushback on attractiveness isn't a misguided attempt to ensure men still find real women attractive, as that is counter to their purposes. But I'm not really sure what the point is then, unless it's just general divisiveness.
As a woman, I've been looking forward to this game for a long time! A female character being unrealistic or not "pretty" seriously doesn't matter. Those complainers just need to shut up and let us have our games.
Depending on what kind of makeup my PH wife use, she can look very similar to that, without makeup face is a little rounder, but with it she can make it look like that sharp or how to call it
Speaking from a more KOREAN oriented mind (Since I've been delving into KOREAN and ASIAN culture for YEARS as a fellow Westerner) I can say that I TOTALLY agree with Shad and everything said in this video. I've see a TONS of different female characters both in video games and movies and I have to agree that making female characters more "ugly" to make them more "appealing" for a "modern" audience is wearing itself thin at this point now that we're in 2024. I've been following Stellar Blade since 2019 when it was first called Project EVE and let me tell you they have ALREADY toned it down in terms of the complaints regarding Eve's physique and model in terms of her assets so to speak. I'm going to watch or play this game myself since I ADORE Korean culture and to see that other people are BASHING on a female character not only diminishes and discourages Asian game developers from expanding their audience and creativity, but also squashes advancement of the gaming industry over stupid values that shouldn't matter in a damn video game. I've played all 3 of the reboot Tomb raider games (and I'm a straight female IRL) and it was FANTASTIC experience for me. I'm going to enjoy this game since I LOVE these type of sci-fi post-apocalyptic themes and I LOVE how they've tied in Neir, Battle Angel Alita and other inspirations. Some people are here to play the game for the story. Honestly I couldn't care less and I LOVE EVE and the story they're portraying. Nobody had any issue with 2B and her assets due to the time the game was released in and it's a darn shame that this beautiful project is getting bashed NOW due to the unfortunate social climate we live in with our social norms. Either way I can see both sides of the argument but regardless I'm looking forward to this game.
Whats funny is the model they scanned is actually bigger than the in game model when it comes to the assets lol. So they actually down graded her a bit if they wanna get technical
This also happens in movies as well. Example: Amilyn Holdo from the disney Star Wars Episode 8 is Kathleen Kennedy's self-insert character. Anyone who can prove me wrong, I will happily congratulate them. =^x^=
:) They filmed Disney SW movies with 'true beauty standards', I think they specifically searched for unattractive stuff. That's how a child of Han Solo and Leia ended up looking like one of my favorite actors. Which bothers me as biologist, and reminds me of the story of Alice Plebuch.
Even if the game releases unsatisfyingly, the fact that the character looks good doesn't change. And since I (of course) like good looking characters, I hope Stella Blade comes out as a good game and has commercial success.
The location of organs on Korean models is a relevant discussion😂 seriously I knew it was a matter of time before the woke fascists attacked imagination
I _would_ actually like to focus on the gameplay of Stellar Blade; it looks like the slickest, smoothest, most dynamic spectacle fighter (Devil May Cry, Scarlet Nexus, Prince of Persia, and so on) that I have ever seen. Eve basically air-dances through combat encounters, and it looks. . . well, spectacular. There's lots of cool moments where she does things like dodge-cancel into other attacks, or swap to a powerful ranged attack mid-maneuver, just lots of really cool stuff that looks like a ton of fun to execute. It reminds me of the old 'Crazy Gameplay' bonus feature in Devil May Cry 3, where somebody was just controlling and playing Dante to the absolute peak of what the system allowed for. If you like the _gameplay_ of Sekiro, NieR: Automata, or Devil May Cry, this will be a must-buy, and I can only imagine how happy it must make the developers of this game to stand in such company.
Lol i almost always pick or create female characters because if im gonna have to stare/look at that character for X amount of hours I'd rather look at an attractive female char then a dude haha
her organs are located in that thing, that sits atop her legs and between her arms. what's it called again? uhmmmmmmmmmmm, im gonna go with thorax. that's what women have right? a thorax? like a spider or ant
Not playing a female character because you are a man is the exact same as the snowflakes saying they cant identify with characters that are not like them .. Its not weird its disturbing
As a woman, I don't mind attractive women in games, not even *unrealistically* attractive ones. What I wish is only that media and advertising depict women with dignity. I've felt hurt many times walking across the streets seeing enticingly clad women on posters leering at you. I was like: "So, you advertisers tell the world that *this* is normal for a woman? To offer herself up to the lustful imaginations of literally *every single guy that walks by*? But then for guys you DON'T do this? And that's what's hurtful. Not to see beauty. Not even so much to see a "sexy" character every one in a while. It's to see games with 90% of the females dressing sexy and NONE of the guys dressing sexy. Either have ALL main characters dress like this, or none or a few of both men and women, but don't convey to the world that it's normal for a woman to have no principles, no dignity and no self-respect. While all your men get to keep their dignity. No, no, no. So that's all I beg for. Please be fair. Give women their dignity. Then, do what you want and I will choose whether I want to play your game or leave it to others to play it. :) I mean, you can do what you want anyway as a game dev, but if this is about being "good people", and you want to be a good person, respecting all humans, this is what I as a woman would really really appreciate from you male devs out there.
Metal bikinis for everyone! Tbf idc about sexy ladies also. I play games with hot dudes. (Spoiler stellar blade has a hot dude) And no, jacked doesnt necessarily mean hot. Kratos is ugly, mid at best, sorry.
I mean Lara Croft back in the day had models representing her despite some differences due to being more a comic like game vs reality. Cosplayers proof those people wrong everyday not to mention the actresses back in the day. I still want to give credit to that actress playing that survival Lara in that movie because she had to train hard, too (but I don't like the survival games and so didn't watch it, I admit).
If these people are gettin' pissed over this, they're gonna have a fkin field day when they see Kill la Kill, Fairy Tail, Genshin, Demon Slayer, or basically anything else that comes out of Asia
It really feels like the more these type of people complain about and change things in media to be more "realistic" the more they themselves lose their grip on reality. It's pretty sad
My hill to die on with this topic is 2 fold, first I will stop objectifying women when women stop objectifying women and second I will stop objectifying women when they stop objectifying men. Really simple solution to all of this is for them to understand that no one wants to look at ugly characters in a work of fiction, period.
I'm willing to bet most the people complaining don't support games they boast about like horizon forbidden west and the last of us 2. My girl is slim and it makes her laugh when she hears "were is her organs" as if slim people can't exist.
Trailer analysis after the demo: Outstanding demo, isn't it ? Eve being one of the main characters. It hasn't even scratched the game lore yet. Now, when you'll very much likely play the full game on release, be ready to be overwhelmed and amazed without mentioning the enormous fun factor to achieve. Check the few breakdowns below: 1. Eve has gone all Terminator 2 as “Arnie” that is similar to Doom gameplay demons slaying with the exploding ammo, Star Wars with the laser Gun, Call of Duty with the Drone Defence machine Gun. 2. Eve has gone all Mobile Suit Gundam with the Mech. 3. Eve is beauty and agile, with her Girl Power and amazing true strength. Such elegance in her varied outfits. 4. Eve is Battle Angel Alita. She is the next gen Bayonetta. 5. Eve to battle Tachy as a boss as she mutates into a Naytiba after being touched and cut by the alien's blade. 6. Music 7. Gameplay including Blade skating (Tony Hawk's type), F-zero X style channels gliding alongside the rocking music equal to pure joy and fun. 8. Game Lore: What happened to Earth, origins of the Naytibas: their weaknesses, strengths, adaptability, infections, mutations, how they think: destroyed earth and the world to explore. Stories to unveil soon. Fight for Earth and all it holds as one unique place. 9. Next Gen 10. Game of the Year confirmed. More gamers should have the opportunity to play the game and on more platforms, however currently a full PS5 exclusive. Okay agree to Sony publishing this so they hold the distribution of this game on platforms. PC possibly after some years - XBox & Nintendo well damn very likely never ever!
Just as someone would be uspset if they were given lead and was told it was gold, customers don't like being given ugly characters and being told they are beautiful. Even if a player wanted to play as an ugly character or self insert, they would prefer to have a customized character than some trash from a pandering dev.
I agree with the video I think you put it best when you said they make the games for themselves and not for the fans anymore I don't think it's been that way for a long time which is why I plan to support stellar blade because that was made for fans
2:22 Old gamer here, I recall gamers being criticized back in the late 70's/early 80's for assorted "sexist" things regarding the game itself, including portrayals of sexy females in the artwork. Personally, I think it's nothing but some silly women (and men that might as well be women) making a mountain out of a molehill. It's doubtful there even was a molehill to begin with, but that doesn't seem to slow them down at all.
I don't play games as much as I used to, but when I did I liked to see beautiful people. The ugifying of characters has been going on for the past few years. I'm hoping that this is the death rattles of the woke movement as the pendulum swings the other way.

Mostly to piss off the woke mob. But the gameplay does look good
Amen to that Brother!
Looks like shit to me but good for u!
don’t be ashamed to piss them off some more. i’ll also buy and say to those woke losers “because she’s fucking hot. you want your games to be successful? follow Stellar Blades example.”
I don't really know what type of game Stellar Blade is, but I hope this turns into a case like Nier: Automata, where people come for the sexy lady on the cover and stay for a very compelling story and characterization.
I think it may be exactly that tbh
As long as she doesn't suffer the same fate as poor 2B.
But then leave because the gameplay is stale.
I hope Eve is not android. That's a little too similar to Nier imo. My guess is she is just enhanced as a human.
That's pretty much how the dev's games are from my experience
The 'unrealistic' beauty standards are achievable but requires proper fitness. Game characters usually run long distances and scale buildings and mountains, sometimes they move like gymnasts. Doing these things often will usually make them fit. unless they devour entire dinosaurs, then they become aloy.
Also never gets tired, even athletes have their limits.
Also the world is much softer since characters never get broken bones.
The "offended" doesn't want to exercise or does anything requiring effort, so they want to bring down those who put effort to make their lives better, to validate themselves.
Did you mean aloy in horizon games? If so, I didn't even notice she was fat.
Them saying it's unrealistic proportions when Kardashians exist in this planet called Earth. 😩
These people only want low quality women with self esteem problems.
Aloy in zero dawn 2 looks like Buzz, the brother from Home Alone.
LOL yeah
🤣🤣🤣
Make women on games beautiful again.🤜🤛
Clean, safe, appropriate art of course!
Dang. *_UGLY!_* XD
making picture for their RP characters?
How strange. I think my post here was hidden for some reason. (At least I _think_ it was this thread; it's not showing all replies and I'm getting notifications from it).
At any rate, all I said was that even we women prefer playing the "unrealistic" attractive characters. If I'm going to be staring at an avatar for hours, I want them to _actually_ look good, not these characters they keep insisting are "more realistic" and "modern" and crap.
"Pretty women sells games", this formula has worked for DECADES.
If it ain't broke don't fix it. You woke? Prepare to go broke.
Mortal Kombat used to have some of the sexiest fighters in fighting games. Now we get Fentanya.

What's wrong with MK characters? I know Tanya doesn't look good but what's wrong with others?
@@AlbusPercivalWulfrykDumbledore The fact that just a single game prior they were still reasonably attractive and didn’t look like a bunch of old maids on purpose.

To this day I've never even spoken to people from the "cult of wokeness". Only seen their comments getting pulled up by various people from UA-cam and stuff.
But DAMN it would be a hilarious conversation to have a discussion with those kinda people.
Outside of college/university, the internet, and music gigs they baisically don't exist.
Unfortunately I work near a university, spend a decent amount of time on the internet and frequently go to metal gigs (often the worst for drawing the weirdos).
They're everywhere in higher education
I've spoken with a few. They switch personalities with every response you send them.
More like, infuriating, but I get u
These radicals saying "but she looks like a child", says more about them, than it does about the game, or fans of the game.
Better "unrealistic" than ugly, modern standards should go to hell
we need more shows like this were the cast just get along perfectly
Aloy looked fine in zero dawn, the game is from a few years ago, they actually "uglyfied" her significantly in forbidden west
They Nikado Avocado-ed her
"Fine"? Dude, she was beautiful in Dawn.
Well, yeah, i think thats what they meant. They just didn’t know the name of the 2nd game.
Classic bait-and-switch, as expected from western media.

The sad part is that they're complaining in an industry where they don't even participate. I don't see them playing games that are "politically correct," but they praise such games while attacking others (without playing!). It's like forcing a chef to cook their way but won't eat it themselves...
I keep laughing because if you think she looks like a child it prooves you never been outside USA.
Give the Plushy Nun-chucks, and place him in a castle with no machicalations.
Ehh lets be honest she's mid max filters
I can play as a woman even though I’m not a woman, because, let’s face it, I’m not really an undead necromancer either.
@@kaimagnus5760 I'm a roleplayer too. Have been for over 10 years now, but tabletop and videogames are just different for me. I will make roleplay-heavy characters on subsequent playthroughs is the game has replay value, but my first playthough is always as a self-insert when possible.
@@TheMorbidHobo I don't play tabletop on account of the fact that they quite frankly bore the snot out of me. All my roleplaying has been in video games. But I 100% get wanting self insert characters. That's usually what I try to do on MMOs.

Difference being he doesn't mandate this game be changed so he feels represented. Sensible people can just accept they aren't the target audience.
that's a fair point. then again, most games have male protagonists so it's not like he's starved of alternatives. @@FisherTheOtter

and the Horizon series firmly placed itself on my 'do not buy under any circumstances' list for making the female protagonist a 2.5/10. Same with Fable. But the same people calling anyone liking a attractive women a porn addict have no problem with male characters being shirtless and celebrate female? with a schl .. g instead of v.
Shift up is the same company which published Nikke goddess of victory as well
I find it crazy how pretty women in games is demonised but there's a insane amount of support for a jacked, ripped, shredded male
If she's unrealistic then why are they insecure? Mhmmmm
Stellar blade looks great. Especially interested in it with how much i love Neir Automata
I don't care if it's realistic, i play games for escapism
now they're angry at thighs!?
A game with unrealistic power and nobody bats an eye. A game with unrealistic beauty and everyone loses their minds.
They used an actual model for her design. These people are ridiculous.
You should make a Nendoroid version of you man. That would be freakin' awesome.
Tyranth had never played with Barbie dolls.
He played with GI Joe toys. 😂
I don't own a PlayStation5 so if/when it drops to PC and/or Xbox I will pick up a copy.
Have you heard of the high Elves?
realism is boring. If that's what I wanted, then I would just go outside and touch grass.
I mean, you can do what you want anyway as a game dev, but if this is about being "good people", and you want to be a good person, respecting all humans, this is what I as a woman would really really appreciate from you male devs out there.

Someone tell me, when does art have to be realistic anyway if it doesn't want to simulate reality?
It really feels like the more these type of people complain about and change things in media to be more "realistic" the more they themselves lose their grip on reality. It's pretty sad
My hill to die on with this topic is 2 fold, first I will stop objectifying women when women stop objectifying women and second I will stop objectifying women when they stop objectifying men. Really simple solution to all of this is for them to understand that no one wants to look at ugly characters in a work of fiction, period.

Trailer analysis after the demo:
Outstanding demo, isn't it ? Eve being one of the main characters. It hasn't even scratched the game lore yet. Now, when you'll very much likely play the full game on release, be ready to be overwhelmed and amazed without mentioning the enormous fun factor to achieve. Check the few breakdowns below:
6. Music
9. Next Gen
I am guilty of playing games where characters are beautiful, I just don't like to look at ugly things for a long period of time for no reason.
Theyre just angry that they discovered that the rest of the world dont share their views.
Zennyrt... you can compare by yourselves if they did a good job modeling her ingame
Just as someone would be uspset if they were given lead and was told it was gold, customers don't like being given ugly characters and being told they are beautiful. Even if a player wanted to play as an ugly character or self insert, they would prefer to have a customized character than some trash from a pandering dev.
