Honestly Matt ive been with the channel for more than 6 years and I wouldnt be able to describe in a single comment how much value ive received from you guys. Not only have i loaded my arsenal with great gear and have knowledge to use them, I started a custom painting hardbait business I do fulltime. Any area of my fishing life can be enriched by each and every video. Thanks alot on behalf of every viewer here🙏🏼
That's awesome your custom painting hard baits man!! That is one thing I have wanted to start doing for awhile now. Just haven't taken that first step. Any quality air brushes you would recommend?!
I’ve loved fishing top water early in the mornings all summer. In my opinion you just can’t beat a top water bite. It’s so nice to watch the fish just demolish it
@17c_72 The rain would have been fine for weekend fishing, but I had to go into work. Plus, it was a storm with lightning. I ended up still fishing this morning after the storm, but for only 40 minutes.
A tip I learned from my grandpa when dropshotting trick worms is to break off a piece of tooth pick and shove it in the tail end of the worm to also add buoyancy. Works great in Texas. Also, don’t be afraid to keep a Texas rig tied in as he said. Creature baits still work in the dog days of summer
Big worms, big swimbaits, & frogs is hard to beat for me. Past 5 weeks I've caught more monsters than I ever have years combined. Largest being 9lb 3oz 26" long 16.5 girth. Next 3 were a 8lb 6oz, a 7lb 8oz, & 5lb 8oz! Been an unbelievable summer for me. Trying really really hard to break that double digit this year! Hopefully I'm successful
@@coopermoreton6993 smaller lakes is where I've been kayak fishing. Frogs in morning & switching to big worms & swimbaits in afternoons. Fishing shade pockets & offshore grass & structure like sunken trees. Caught another 6lber yesterday few other small ones. Had a bigger monster jump off also. It was 8+
When I say big worms & swimbaits. I'm referring to 10+ inch worms & 8 inch + swimbaits soft boot & wedge taisl or hard glide baits. Big swimbaits has definitely produced most my big fish. I think fishing from my kayak is also a advantage because I'm more stealthy, quiet, less presence in water as a big boat or pound aluminum boats. The big girls are smart & hard to trick!!!
I LOVE LOVE the TB Underspin. I have been using the Z-man minnowz with amazing results. Where not even a drop shot would work, this set-up generated some great bites. Thank you for all you do.
I’m happy to see those owner cover shot hooks, because I lost one of my biggest fish drop shoting in heavy cover because my hook bent out. Definitely gonna pick some of those up.
I tied on a drop shot this winter when I wasn’t able to get bites on small moving baits. Let’s just say I still have one tied on. It’s still producing. ….. moving bait wise bill Lewis Atv crank and R2S biggie smalls crank, rebel pop-r, and Picasso shock blade.
I just discovered your channel recently. I feel like I’ve struck gold. Great info. I’m already catching 3x the fish easily. Better quality fish too. Thank you so much!
Very knowledgeable angler for sure! I have figured them out but cannot land the big ones I hooked 4 this year I have lost sleepover and I don't know what I'm doing wrong but it sucks
I’m “sick” today if you ask my employer. So I spent the morning on the lake. Super hot found a good drop shot bite off shore. Good mix of smallmouth and largemouth
"actually it's like 6 or 7 I never quite hit 5 l, but I try" 😂😂😂 Hey matt, we don't mind! 🤙🤙🤙 Appreciate the extras brotha man 💯💯 btw, that was the hardest I've laughed in awhile! Thank you for that
Whats different in Aug from July in the south not a dang thing lol everything thats been working still will work. We dont have changes here till later in the year like late sept and October.
Thank you for this! I am about to get out on Lake Gaston in the beginning of August and cannot WAIT to get out on the water! Have a few of these bait types but want to get better hooks so thanks for the links!! Question for my anglers out there, I just bought a new medium heavy rod with a 4k spinner and was going to use 15lb braid, what lb fluorocarbon should I use for my lead? Everything I have read is just ALL over the place, thanks for the assist!!
Hey guys,Thank you for posting, I really enjoy watching. I'm in Kentucky. Where are you ? What area or areas do you fish mostly? Things are very different where I live. Bass fisheries are not exactly great. Just curious because this might not exactly apply where I am. :)
Anyone got a suggestion for replacement treble hooks on topwater walking baits? I replaced with the same size, but they seem to be too heavy for the lucky craft sammy 100
Did he just really say that "up north, where there is no grass what so evere?!?!?!?!" I dont know when the last time you fished "the north" but we have TOOOONNNNS of weeds and grass!! Especially here in New England!
Matty, on the light weight Texas rig, when you fish it, after you hop the weight and bait, do you lower your rod to allow weight to slide down more thus allowing bait to free fall and glide out?
This time of year, I like to go to the smaller rivers and creeks where there's plenty of current and the water stays cooler and holds more oxygen. The bass act more like spring than the dog days of summer- and the current makes it easier to see where they're going to set up at. Anywhere there's a current break- something sticking out into the river that blocks the current or even a good-sized rock with a still spot right behind it, anywhere there's a curve in the river the current will wash away the bank on the outside until it hits rock- then it makes a vertical rock wall with a deeper pool right in front of it- they love these spots. And really- since you throw against the current and retrieve with it- it takes your bait right to them. They'll set up where the current delivers food to them- so just let the current take your bait and it will deliver it right to the bass. I reel just fast enough to keep the slack out of my line and keep my lure turned the right way and up off bottom- that's it. They hit it hard to- like they're trying to kill it.
Yes!! This is about the most fun you can have as an angler!! There are so many anglers who've never experienced this and they don't know what they're missing.

My plan to fish before work got rained out. So, I'm ready for the new TacticalBassin video, LET'S GO!
When you coming here to catch some Ahi?
@toddpossum I would be down to catch monster tuna and eat pounds of fresh sushi!!!🍣
@@midwestfischermanhaha. We call it Poke. Always welcome
Why not fish in the rain?

This time of year is my favorite. Off shore bass fishing with dropshot or cranking

awesome video im waiting for the night fishing video? hopefully next 🎣🐳🐳🐳🐳🐳
Super helpful. August is probably one of the best months to fish
Another amazing video!! SO much information! Thank You Matt for everything you and Tim do!! Cheers Brother!!
Thanks for the video. You're always my #1 recommendation when anyone asks how do they get into largemouth bass fishing.
They might be easy to catch more north, but here in TX in August it's tough fishing shallow or deep.

What scenario would require NOT using a blade on the swim bait?

Very informative! You've helped me catch hundreds of fish 🐟. Thanks Matt Allen.
Awesome video! Going to pick up some of these!
Wacky worm rig has been #1 for me this summer.
Its my birthday month and I love bass fishing,,,,imma literally throw all of these lures until September 🤷🏿♂️…Leo gang

Yep. Another dynamite video from the boss!
Excellent job Matt,thank you 👏👏👊
you should try the core tackle hover rig on the soft jerk baits. its freaking awesome for catching fish.
Idk what up north fishery has no grass but i need to find that LOL
Can you talk about fishing line colors and what is best. I just bought some red braid and I’m wondering if that was a good choice.
Thank You!

@00:49 sounds like we got fish on top of fish lol.
liked - good stuff.
Hey I somehow missed dirty jig doing small underspin.. looks cool like a guppy head with a underspin
What should us Shore Guys be setting up. What should we be type of areas should we be looking for
you rock! thanks

Hey Matt, how do you deal with line twist on a drop shot?
Anyone got a suggestion for replacement treble hooks on topwater walking baits? I replaced with the same size, but they seem to be too heavy for the lucky craft sammy 100
wow nice video💖💝💖💝
It’s not my favorite way to fish but a wacky rig is pretty tough to beat in the heat of summer with wary fish.

Free rig a deps 4.8" bullflat catchin me big on a 9g weight
How are you guys liking TN?
Why would you use a dropshot rig over a carolina rig?
Matt are you pulling the tab off on the largo Shad underspin? Or leaving it? Thanks
No, I'm generally leaving it in place. If you want to really slow down and crawl it, pull the tab.
Thank you for all you guys do for us!
Out of curiosity, why don’t you guys feature LEWS rods and reels?
Wats a budget friendly rod for the keara frog?
Hey Matt: Do you guys plan on doing your annual icast new gear video? Thanks
Definitely 👍🏼 This one is bigger than most, I expect it to be more than one video. It was an exciting show for sure!
Looking to buy my brother some nice baits. Our lake has bass, bluegill, krappie, and Sunny’s. Can anyone send some links for some baits??
How long of a leader do you use for your dropshot setup
Cool

Hey Matt: I’ve noticed on the tackle warehouse site a lot of baits and gear most notably 13 fishing hard baits are on close out so why is this?
Why you throw back the fish on the water ?
Lmao the baby destroyer.
I smashed them yesterday on micro jigs .
You guys don’t use the gangster beat at the end of your videos anymore why’s that!!
I like to put these videos on 1.5 times speed just to get to the points quicker
Cool story bro

Do you run the fluke on braid if you’re around grass?
