I love how you repurposed a cabinet that had no other purpose any longer, except to take space. I wish I could find something like this around here as I'd love to have an amp like this! It shouldn't, but it does annoy me when people take an intact perfectly usable item and "upscale" it to something else less than what it was. You gave this cabinet new life and that truly is what an "upscale" should be.
I've got an old Tandberg tube tape recorder. Makes a great dirty amp, looking for an old radio to put the guts in. Well, that's after I pay someone to show me how and what to do. Shit, I envy someone with the knowledge you have. Kudos for an amazing build, sounds and looks like a million dollars to me.
Ha! I had a vintage radio cabinet in my basement for years, hoping to one day turn it into a guitar amp. I project I never got around to - ended up putting it on the curb when we moved. Congrats on following through with your project. Looks killer!
What a beauty! I love your attention to detail. Did the 5Y3 orientation in the chassis just happen to align pins 2 and 8 in the horizontal plane? Thanks for the video, now watching the cab restore.
We’re those electro voices on the far left of the free stuff pic? Or just some knock off wannabe version of aristocrats? I already have too much stuff but would’ve needed restraints to prevent myself from taking all of that stuff and only using one piece once before claiming I’ll get around to it.
That cabinet is a work of beauty! Love having older equipment and giving it a new life
Thanks for watching!

Upscale is when you make something bigger or higher resolution.
