"sometimes painting an elf, turns into painting an ogre"
- Brent
Words to paint by.
Happens in dating too 🤷🏻♂️
"There's a lack of morality that comes along with boiling people for profit." is the takeaway quote from this episode.
Agamemnon2 I love that quote
"They feel strongly, they feel deeply" I was really hoping that the model was going to be a chair at that point. Loved the result though, I definitely agree with your summary of the ruins and the ogre being the best parts.
Hahaha, I can't remember if I actually have any bits of furniture in that roulette box or not. I should really put some more chairs and bookshelves into that treasure bin ;-)
@@GoobertownHobbies you really should! After all, every deck of cards has a couple of jokers 😉
*You are literally the Bob Ross of miniature painting.* Every single one of your videos is a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing such wonderful vibes with the rest of the community. ♡
I need to see Brent in that wig now!
it's true
And then you hear him say "- A festival. Something outdoors, with sand underfoot and CANNIBALISM"
The Joy of Warhammer with Brent Ross 😅
"Somehow, the fact he's making human stew makes me like him more." - Goobertown Hobbies summarises how we feel about 2020.
Shaun Hing speak for yourself, 2020 has been a great year for the Chaos gods and their followers!
Yes, my death guard brethren have had a wild past few months.
"fun cannibalism"
“Maybe they just think it’s edgy to boil people”
Brent: “Possibly angry.”
Looks over at severed head.
Me: “Yeah I can see that.”
Hehehehe
*cuts to clip of dark eldar runescape equivalent*
'Anyone know any good songs?'
'Darude - Bloodstorm'
my god... you've done it!! crowd sourcing pays off!!!
I must protest sir, there is only one Colour of Magic, and it's Octarine.
mmmmmmmhmmmmhmmmmm :)
@Jacob Moffatt , you say culture - but Rincewind could see it, too. :)
Bon Lennon seal of approval.
Finally, someone else who likes Discworld
@@MLiskindagay waddayamean "finally" - who doesn't!? 😦
"Fun cannibalism" -Brent, 2020
Model holding severed head, "...possibly violent."
I loved this video and paint scheme!
I love how it began as a single model then developed into a fully fledged diorama. You don't like to make things easy for yourself, do you?
Great work Brent, inspiring as always!
No, he wants to make things fun :)
Hehehehe :-)
Bruh, 'twas DESTINY!!!
As Bob Ross would say, "Let's paint a happy litle ogre over here. Even bloodthirsty witches need friends".
Brent: "I'm going to paint a single model today." Also Brent: This model needs a supporting cast". *Paints 10 models*. Every time lol :D :D
That last picture at 29:02 makes it look like she's putting the head in the stew, which makes me think that that arm in the stew is his too. And if he's human and they're elves (and an ogre)... it's not cannibalism.
The english language needs more precise words for this type of situation ;-)
@@GoobertownHobbies wouldn't that just be... eating? XD
@@obadeki8125 hahahah
In many Fantasy worlds Cannibalism is defined as eating any Intelligent Humanoid.
Man, those early 2000's metal Fantasy models are so expressive! The modern sculpts are really cool but there's just something really nice about the old minis...
I totally agree with that statement 👌🙌 💯
I am sneak-watching this during office hours just because the headline was enough to draw me in!
Hehehehe, I can't officially condone this... but thanks for watching! ;-)
Hi Mr./Mrs. Fries, this is your manager...
At the beginning I was not really into your channel Brent, but with time it has grown in my heart. I love how you make everything so enjoyable and welcoming.
You are a true kind heart man, cheers.
I love how your cat is behind you without destroying everything. I recently started to print and paint my own minis made of filament and cheap paint( helps me with dealing about losing my job because of Covid ) and my cats bites and plays with my brushes and minis. Your videos made me start into this hobbie, thank you! You are awesome!
Gotta use the water squirt bottle for when the cats misbehave ;-) For real though, I find that giving them a pillow to sit on just out-of-the way really helps protect my hobby stuff from cats. Then when I leave the room I try to cover the important stuff up.
I made a real magic potion one time, at a place my brother calls "the ADD house." I want to say my chemical or biological knowledge was important, but really I was just there for moral strength. I had slight visions after drinking the potion, none of the amazing dreams the other non-witches claimed to experience.
"Goobertown has released a video..." Dropped the brush...... rushed to the TV. Finally some quality for the eyes!
Thanks Brent!
"Everybody is getting hyped up on blood soup..." Epic line.
Sounds tasty!
I love the fact that, not only is Brent a great painter and a really nice guy, he is absolutely RIPPED!!!
;-)
Oh man, seeing his cat "helping" made me think of my own kitties getting up to dance around my models. Thanks for letting me know I am not alone! Great video!
"Welcome to Goobertown Hobbies..." has the same uplifting feel for me as the closing music over on Midminter Minis. My world is a better place.
I really like the idea of the Blood Elves having Ogres as part of their retinue. On the music front; I'd go for Blood Pulse.
Blood Pulse!!!! :-)
I'm more impressed at the patience required to bag a whole bin of individual miniatures
Hehehehe, yeah prepping and bagging all those took a few days for sure :-)
Not going to lie. As much as I like Brett, the best part of Goobertown videos is the random cat showing up and asserting dominance.
That cat....
Yes more videos!!! Got me worried a moment, hope all is good and life treats you well! Love you man and take care!
I love this concept of matching magic colours to miniatures. It is not only the colour choices, but the overall character and story they tell. Bravo Brent for this wonderful idea!
Hey thanks, yeah it's fun!
It's currently 1:30 am here at the time of uploading but if you think that's going to stop me from watching a Goobertown video immediately you're sorely mistaken
This is very true
Hey man just wanted to say that recently I've taken up painting minis as a hobby and I'm really enjoying it! Keep doing what you're doing cause it sure does inspire people :) Great vid by the way!
Nice!!! I'm really glad to hear that you're having fun painting, keep it up!!! :-)
Well, if he is an ogre an he is making human stew, then it isn't cannibalism at all!
Hehehe, the english language doesn't have enough precise words for 'eating people'
@@GoobertownHobbies Androphagy ;)
@@GoobertownHobbies For the ogre, I think it's called 'lunch'.
You know I didn’t sleep last night. Maybe two-three hours at most. So I thought I’d grab some breakfast and have some coffee (something I VERY rarely drink) before work. I thought it was going to be a bad day. I see it was fate that decided to keep me up so I could be early to Brent’s video. Thank you for making my morning a good one Brent!
I've got a feeling that you're going to have a great day! :-)
I loved seeing your genuine reaction of surprise and delight when the mini was revealed 😂. It really was destiny!
destiny was good to us today :-)
This video is dropping at a really good time because I needed some wholesome miniature painting in my life.
Brent: *looks and sounds like a kids TV presenter*
Also Brent: "Have you seen Blade? There's a blood rave..." "it's fun cannibalism!"
This was awesome. Have watched mainly for the painting tips so this was the first roulette I watched, I'm now going to go through any other you have. Really, genuinely loved the whole diorama and discovering each element. From the witches to the temple to the awesome blue ogre. I hope you kept this going and I've just missed them.
I'm glad that you like these! There are a handful of others posted on my channel- I haven't posted one in a few years, but filming is ongoing! :-)
Thanks for sharing a new painting channel. When I am unable to do the hobby myself I watch painting, lore and tactics videos. This is so I’m still hobbying even when I can’t. I’ve learned a lot from you, so thanks for that too.
right on! :-)
Great video. Thank you for putting positivity out into the world with you painting, channel, and your message.
I adore how excited you get and the way your tiny projects turn into bigger ideas that you complete!
These are by far my favorite Goober Town episodes. Keep up the great work dude!
Yeah, grab a tea, sit and relax, it's random mini time. Very nice video Brent. Keep up the great content!
I'm going through a pretty tough time right now with chronic pain issues. I haven't been able to do any hobbying in weeks because of it. There are times when the muscles in my body are so tense I can feel them each vibrating, and when that happens I put on a video of yours. Your style and the content help take my mind off my body and allows me to relax. Thank you Brent, you're thousands of miles away from me and don't know me but you're helping in a time when I feel helpless.
Since the very first one, Goobertown Roulette has been my favorite Goobertown video. I love the idea of painting random minis that would otherwise sit on a shelf or in a box somewhere, and the color selection options that you choose really make me open my eyes to things I might never have considered. Seriously, something so obvious as drawing magic cards to determine color and characteristics for the mini.... I never would have thought of it. Thanks Brent!!
I love how this came together! from using randomness to pick what you paint to then going with what you felt like doing after the path had been set. I get so much inspiration from your channel, I love it. Very well put together video as well!
Best way i can describe you is your the bob ross of mini world. Your always happy and got this relaxing voice and you're always wanting to tell us a story as you paint.
The faces you make when putting your hand in the treasure box and opening the package are amongst the most adorably wholesome things I've ever seen.
I - I'Z MEANZ DA 'UMIE DOEZ DA GUD PAINTIN', myes nuthin' else, dunn' worry boss jus' keep walkin'....
A new Goobertown Hobbies video?!? Today went from good to absolutely spectacular!!!
"I wanted it to be something like Fyre Festival" - Overpromised, underdelivered, janky tents, and a lunch box containing a single piece of bread and cheese.
My favourite UA-cam Miniture series!!!!!
"Fun cannabalism..." ROFL!!!! Love it! Great video man! Love your content!
Pulls out a dark elf, paints an oger and makes an amazing scene, that's Brent, my friends
(I loved this so much that this might be the answer why people are missing in an rpg campaign of mine)
hehehehe, I made into Gamarishi's game!! :-)
So glad to see a new video this morning! Thank you, and great work!!! The wet blend went very well!
Today has been afwul. Thanks for being a silver lining, Brent!
Sorry to hear that! tomorrow is gonna be better :-)
Love how these guys turned out, and as someone who is in the midst of painting up a dark elf army it was great to see a very different take on the minis.
Idea for Goobertown Roulette season 3: Tarot cards!
Hahaha, Tarot cards would be great, especially since I don't actually know how to read them :-)
Nikki H And then painting them up as the JoJo stands represented by them...
@@GoobertownHobbies Me neither! I play pathfinder (which is like a variant of DnD 3.5), and one of my characters uses a harrow/tarot deck - each of the 6 'suits' is aligned to one of the 6 main stats (strength, dexterity, constitution, intelligence, wisdom, and charisma). That could be one fun way of using them :)
I really love that color of Magic idea. I'm getting my first couple of space marines and I've been struggling on how I should paint them. I might just have to use this idea and see where it takes me.
Have fun!!! :-)
Your creative process never ceases to amaze and inspire me. I love all the storytelling and worldbuilding that goes into your designs. Another great round of Goobertown Roulette!
BREEEENT! I needed a Goobertown Roulette video! The blood rave turned out awesome! I need to catch back up on painting soon. Maybe try a roulette myself. Everytime I watch a new video from you, you always spark any missing inspiration that might have died out within me. Thank you!
Thanks Brent!
"Paint Bravely" is exactly the advice I needed to hear today! I'm coming back to mini painting after about a six year hiatus (life happened) and I'm over-thinking my first mini to start on rather than just driving in.
Hello from South Africa by the way. 👋🇿🇦
Wow, the ogre turned out great! That color scheme works so well.
Man, I always love when a Goobertown Hobbies video enters my subscription box. these videos have a level of quality most others don't. Good job Brent!
I loved the duelist video you did a while back, but then this video went and got out hand fast. Love it.
Holy thanks for showing my goblin at the end! I love that you did a whole scene, honestly my favorite part was the base it looks amazing. Also I hope you keep up the wet blending, it's a personal favorite of mine and that ogre turned out great
I absolutely love that goblin conversion. It's almost on par with the person who put a Gaulish warlord riding a seraphon saurus ;-)
I love the idea of the roulette. Makes me want to buy a grip of monopose minis and bag them up. I have more fun painting characters than I do squads.
It's fun! You should totally consider it.
The randomness of it falling out of the box is pretty in line with mono red 😎
for real!! :-)
I started painting miniatures one and a half years ago and today I watched your tutorial for beginners - man... I wish I had seen this when I started. So many basic things I did never learn myself.
And I really enjoyed this video, too. Awesome work!
the return of my favorite mini painting series!
The skin on the ogre ended up looking really great! So vibrant and alive!
I love the red skin and burgundy cloth combo. It really works well.
TY, I like it too! :-)
Rain of blood-Techno that definitely is Techno and not vastly superior Slayer...
woooo!!!!
Yes, this did turn out awesome. Liked the idea of using the Magic cards and using other figures to test the color scheme. Final diorama display is great, but I love that Ogre being bluish purple instead of the typical green. Another roulette challenge well done Brent. Looks like you nailed that wet blending BTW
TY! :-)
Love this video!! Good to show how U do your wet blend and not just cut it out like the most other do!! It was better to just see U do it then watch ten tutorials
I love your videos Brent. Thanks for taking the time to make them. That Ogre skin was amazing!
Hey thanks!
Some of your best stuff ever, could really tell you were hyped and inspired!
This channel is literally soul food
I've been watching several of your videos this past week, and I'd like to thank you for reminding me that hobby painting should be fun.
What a lovely video this is Brent. You are a treasure, and your videos always fill me with joy.
Brent, you painting that ogre was one of the most enjoyable things I've watched on UA-cam in a while! Painting Bravely indeed. You've inspired me to paint a troll tomorrow using a similar technique!
the base turned out to be very cool, all round a great job and lots of fun to watch
The wet blend was so good i actually physically emoted, which considering this is the internet is really saying something.
Good to see you back Brent, was getting concerned here over the pond that we hadn't seen you in a while
hehe, I took a trip to the lake and then had a few computer issues- back now tho! :-) good to see ya.
I always love these episodes. So much excitement and I thoroughly enjoy the random aspect of it.
You know your magic! Passion is not the first word most would associate with red. Good on you! 😀
@Goobertown - Your videos are such a great watch. Calm and easy going, really like it.
You should be proud of your videos and channel, big props to you!
The wet blending looks amazing
It ALL turned out amazing, but that Ogre is REAL nice. Great work on the wet blending - I just gave that a shot for the first time on a base of one of my models and was pleased with results. I'm trying to "paint bravely" more often.
Ultra wholesome. You had me at deep trance blood techno.
Leave it to the modern day Hobby Bob Ross to make the words "Blood Rave" sound happy and wholesome. So calming.
I love these random roulette episodes. The fan-made mossy lady reminded me of an old Creepshow episode where a farmer finds a meteor that turns everything into plant matter.
YESSSSSSSS. Give me MORE! There are never enough Goobertown Rouletes! Mwuhahaha!
hehehehehe
This was great! I'm a Magic artist and paint minis for relaxation - absolutely love watching your stuff while I work :)
Your love for the hobby is inspirational. Although making armies so they look good in battle is a perfectly fine reason to paint, there is something special about seeing you so excited about a project just to look at it and make up stories about it.
I'm so glad you found a place for the cook without taking the arm from the pot. Nothing like "fun cannibalism" to kick off a blood rave. XD
Yeah!!! :-)
Thanks Brent I've been pretty uninspired with the minis I have so I going to do the random idea to at least keep my skills up. Looks like I've got a lot of priming to do. You truly are the Bob Ross of our times. Keep up the good work.
This is a nice combination! I love these challenge videos, keep up the good work Brent.
How interesting that you feature other painters in your videos! I still am unsure about what constitutes your Goobertown Roulette challenge, but I hope to run across more videos as I peruse your channel! Thanks Brett! I am enjoying your content!
Not sure how this channel found me, but it is the best and exactly what I needed. Thank you!!
Dudee that ork/ogre mini is gorgeous.
Another great video, watch these while I'm modeling, very fun. That ogre model turned out incredible, I've GOT to get me one now for my newest gorger army. Very oni looking, and this is the first I've seen wet blending, I'm definitely going to give it a try now!
Man! So many crossovers of hobbies lately and it makes me so happy! Pleasent Kenobi has recently started making warhammer content as well!
“An Ogre with some soup.” Cracked me up lol great job at always 🤝🎉
My free week starts with a new Goobertown video - couldn't be better :)
Have a great week!!!
Love watching the roulette vids seeing how you turn a random mini into a fantastic looking mini
Love the ogre skin colour choice, Goobs. Nicely done, mate :) And also the phrase "fun cannibalism".
