Goobertown is back! I wandered off for a little bit there, but all is well- I was working on too many projects at once and forgot to actually finish anything ;-) Thanks for tuning in, there’s a lot of fun stuff on the way!
Yahoo! Glad all is well and excited for your new video!
Welcome back!
Multiple projects at once might mean we’ll get a load of new videos soon then?
I was wondering the other day if something had happened! Glad to hear all is well :)
I can relate. I usually use another project to procrastinate on the other four I need to get done.
Snuffles is the host now.
indeed. :-)
Snuffles deserves the spot.
Snuffles always show his bum bum! I try bark at him so he stop, but he no listen! 😠🐶

YAY! Back in action. Missed ya Brent
"Pile of opportunity" instead of "pile of shame". It's the little things like that which makes this channel so positive! Awesome work as always!
Imagining goobs scuttling down the street with his arms full of broken fouton parts is very amusing
It was back when I lived in Boston. I only had to carry the parts from this one a couple of blocks, but I thought it was pretty funny too hehehehe :-)
@@GoobertownHobbies Woah, hello from New England! How long were in the area for?
I love Pile of Potential. It helps me organise projects and what unfinished minis I have left.
It's not a massive thing, but I also like the name over the shame connotation. We all know how difficult painting and progressing can be mentally, and I think the words we use to think about and describe our projects and goals can make a difference to our experience of the hobby.
I use pile of potential too. "shame" is better optimized for clickbait though... such is life!
@@GoobertownHobbies Haha I figured! Thanks for another lovely video.
I use Mountain of Opportunity when talking about mine. Great point!
I agree mate, i came here to write pretty much the same thing, never liked the "pile of shame" phrase at all but i loved the new term from Brent "Pile of Potential" it just makes me excited hearing it said that way! ^_^
I was worried the kiddies had chased you off. Good to see you are back just being you.
I'm happy to see that you've got smaller, more affordable companies represented. If someone felt like doing the challenge along with you, they wouldn't have to decide between new models and eating for the week.
Glad to see your mix of positivity, craftmanship and innovation is back
I really miss these roulette painting videos. Do you think you'll revisit them again? Hope all is well, you've been a joy to watch and learn from!
Looks great. Suggestion: keep the model on a base and make a recess in the display to drop her in. That way, you can remove her for gaming use and/or put another model on the display.
Oh! I like that! :-)
I’m so glad I found your UA-cam channel.
It’s so relaxing listening to you talking.
You have such a calming voice it really helps with my anxiety
Thank you so much Brent
I'm glad that you're here! Hope you're having a good one :-)
Snuffles is making sure no cheating was happening. 😂 😸
Wow those temple walls have wonderful details and the mini looks gorgeous. Fantastic job.
Got into this hobby a few months ago after watching your guide for beginners! Glad to see another video! The cats are lovely too
you should give his podcast a listen! it is really enjoyable while painting, as well as getting excited for more painting!
@@mushroomancer4407 Thanks! I'll take a look
Your back, thank god. I was getting a bit concerned and was running a little low on modelling insperation. I am glad to see your channel has a new vid up. Time to get inspired once again.
i really recommend the paint bravely podcast! there is enough brent there to keep you entertained, as well as casey from ebay miniature rescues, it is awesome, and definetly one of my favourit podcasts!
Pile of opportunity sounds way better than pile of shame so does treasure trove lol unbuilt and unpainted minis are projects waiting to be explored
Lovely video and awesome scene
It always feels like my bloodpreasure eases off and relaxation kicks in as soon as i see a Goobertown Hobbies video.
There is a joy to painting here i don't find many other places.
Miscast, Black Magic Craft and Pete the Wargamer is a wonderful source of inspiration and creativity. For painting skills there are so many I could not mention them, but with Brent, here i just relax and find the joy of the hobby.
Happy to help :-)
Great paint job Brent! Fun to watch this one!
Good to have you back! Cheers from Western Australia 🇦🇺 👍
the zooming in on Snuffles made me laugh hard :D
*Snuffles walks in and knocks over boxes.* Shot is finished. "Oh I was just leaving."
Your whole take on this hobby, and your general attitude makes you one of my favourite content creators. So needless to say, I've been rather impatiently waiting for your return and I'm glad that that day has come.
Very cool Brent. I dig that terrain. Very unique.
great little project! love the final result, especially the gold nmm. one minor criticism if i may be so bold... the "highlights" and "shadows" should be reversed on the flaming skull, with white in the recesses layering through light blue to dark blue to a final black "highlight". this would make it seem like it was glowing from within, rather than a dark object being lit from an external light source.
that's a good point! I think the card art also has the white on the tips of the flames and I didn't stop and logic it out :-)
Always good have something to watch between paint bravely episodes. Now I just need to get to work on my pile of shame.
She looks stunning! I really loved the whole composition of the scene. Having fun is always the best way of getting work done. :)
Very nice! Love the vibe of this model. You've really captured the vibrancy of the feathers and the face looks great! I love it :D
10 seconds in and no "brand-who-shall-not-be-named" products in sight. Glad to see you back :)
I'm as happy to see Snuffles as I am to see you again!
I really love how people in this hobby seem to be able to look at a big pile of unrelated rubbish (like a futon in this case) and see something exciting or useful or just interesting.
I've pulled two futons off the road, but this is from the one that was made of fancier wood :-)
Great paint-job, and I love your diorama because it keeps it simple and is very effective at showcasing the miniature.
Aye.. Johan! Good to see you back to some good old model painting!
Hey man, I got served your video on pin lining by the algorithm 2 days ago. Had a look around and the big tutorial video on painting you did is one of the best I have ever seen, subbed after that. But what has really kept me bingeing your back catalog is your attitude and enthusiasm, it's infectious. Thank you for sharing it with the community in general and me in particular.
After two month...
I was a little affraid!
So welcome back, and thanx for this video
Great video. Those models have a cool unique look to them.
Good to see you back man - you had me worried!
That Temple entrance is a very Zak McCracken moment.
You are back! Thank's for the new video mate! Man, you painting ShadowSea is all I ever wanted from UA-cam. Great stuff!
Hahaha, I'm glad fate gave us shadowsea! :-)
Fantastic to see you back Brent. What a great little project too. The shadow you added really did make all the difference. Wonderful work indeed :)
I once painted a stormcast with a autumn theme (Brown robes and purple robes, warm brassy tones, and painted the base in cold stone and autumn decorations) so it might be interesting to do a model with similar themes to see whether I've improved since then. Glad to see you still around!
Nice mini diorama. Good job.
So glad to see that you are back! I love the mini and the base is really well done! Nice work with the makeup.
Glad to see you back. I enjoy your vids while i try and sleep as they are so relaxing 😬
Ha, I was just looking at all the old Pile of Shame videos from you, Midwinter etc last night! Great timing :)
Good to have you back!
She looks fantastic, sir! The lighting works really well, as does her setting. Great job!
Glad to have you back Brent.
good to see i am not the only one with creature casters stuff in the pile of shame
hehehe, nope!
Good to see you back in action brother! The pirate ship mech idea is honestly soooo cool to me, but I've seen people custom build their own and they were a bit cooler than the one here so I'm fine that you didn't select it haha
Great work!! Love that you put the shadow on the floor and wall.
Thanks! It turns out black drybrushes just as well as any other color- good to know! :-)
Reassuring to see Snuffles never changes.
hehehe, same 'ol snuffles! :-)
Thanks for the video! Makes me want to pick up some Aztec style minis to paint!
I love, love, LOVE the phrase "Pile of Opportunity". I've been taking my Pile of Shame too seriously lately!
This is exactly what I needed on a dark a damp Monday afternoon. A nice feel good video from Brent. Nice to see you back dude, video was super relaxed easy viewing. The vignette turned out great too.
So glad you are back Brent! Have been waiting to post on a recent video! You have inspired me to dive deep into this hobby! Thank you so much for the content!
That's awesome, I'm glad you're having fun :-)
i think it's awesome you were able to harvest and repurpose that futon! Also a great diorama. .I too love simplicity sometimes :)
Shucks that land speeder never gets picked…. ;). Loved the video. Thanks!
hehehehehehehehehe :-)
Glad you're back and refreshed man! I missed you and your content!
Just seein the video pop on my notifications made me smile and feel a bit more happy! Glad you are back!
Glad to see you back!! Love the video. Keep up the great work!
Welcome back Brent!! Great to see you back
Speaking of letting someone else pick your color scheme, you should really do a roulette challenge where your paint scheme is inspired by tropical birds/fish! I have been painting up a winged beast to look like a sun conure, and it has turned out great! And the amount of colors found in nature can be absolutely astounding.
that's actually an amazing idea! :-)
Good to see you! I was wondering if you had switched careers again!
I love how after so many videos I still learn so much more! Thanks for trying out new stuff as well. I really want to build a diorama now as well!
It's great to see and hear you again 🎣🎉🎈
Love the random choice concept. The temple came out great and the mini is full of life.
Snuffles seems to have something against Malifaux.
Really looked like a fun prompt, great work!
Hey Brent's come to see us! Hope you had a good break man, glad to see you back!
Great video. The miniature looks very good in the diorama.
great video Brent, the mini turned out very well, playing around with lighting is an interesting challenge. Thanks
Thanks for the video Brent. I currently struggle with a painting slump (you know; life), so thanks for the inspiration
The only time I've bet on the right horse... WOO-HOO!!! Love these designs
A new Goobertown video! Great choice with the mini roulette, the result was fantastic. So many opportunities with that mini but I think you picked the best one.
-John
Good to have you back. This was a nice little diorama!
The pile of opportunity name really helps me feel better about all this unpainted, unbuilt plastic. Just used the absolute freedom of all that plastic to convert some custom eldar rangers- and hearing that name really helped emphasize to me that I could never just have fun like that if I didn't have all of it.
That OSL really turned out well, and is nicely subtle. I love it!
The zoom in on Snuffles made me very happy.
Yes Brent! I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't a little worried about where you wandered off to! Very good to see you
Nice to see you back! Thanks for introducing me to Moonstone minis. That game looks incredible. Would love to see you do more with those minis.
Really glad you are back on the youtubes again. Hope you are doing well.
happy to see you back. exited about all the projects coming :D
It was well worth the wait!! Amazing video! Love your stuff!
Glad to see you back Brent! Awesome diorama, you're inspiring me to finish some of my random minis as well. Might even do my own diorama!
Kind of funny how well your hair matches Snuffle's fur. :D
And liking this version, give some attention to some underrated games. :D
Fantastic job and I loved how you made a story out of the paintjob, will be inspiration for some of my future character model, thank you.
love the roulette videos! great work Brent!!
We have been waiting for you patiently and it's good to see it's not for naught! Welcome back!
You and your cats inspire me!
Glad to see you back, hope the time away was good.
The legend is back. Good vibes all around. Nice to see you again, Brent
Great to see you are back Brent! Was starting to worry that something had happened to you. The miniature and base looked great.
Good to see you're back! Been waiting patiently for a new video to get inspired about! Almost finished with my first army (Daemons of Khorne) and got the miniature painting bug! Can't wait to learn to play and try my first game!!
very nice!! keep goin :-)
You nailed it man. This one was fun to watch and the lighting effects were next level. Good learning
Would watch just for the cats. But the creative art is definitely worth sticking around for.
I'm a new guy (subscriber) to the channel but all I can say is where were You in 1987 when I needed you so much Sure our miniatures were made out of mostly lead but they called them pewter. Hahaha. Love this channel. You bring something to the gaming table that just makes me feel at peace. And that's just not a normal thing in today's day and age.
Brent! Welcome back sir! Always a pleasure!
More people need to get into Shadowsea and Deepwars!
Great job, and a beautiful little vignette there. Well done!!
That's a lovely eclectic selection of minis. All of them a painter's dream. I think I'd definitely side with UK Hobby Room and say this deserves being called a Pile of Potential rather than a Pile of Shame. PS. Cats are our overlords. That will never change.
Not a bad pile eh? Sadly "pile of shame" is better clickbait, but I DO call it pile of potential too :-)
@@GoobertownHobbies A necessary maladie of the UA-cam algorithm and human nature sadly.
Man I really enjoy watching you paint minis I've never heard of! Please do more!
I will! :-)
