- I had to improvise when the seat belt buckle retainer on my 1985 cutlass supreme suddenly stopped working and would not latch the buckle anymore. I knew something inside was missing a spring of some sorts so I borrowed one from the middle passenger seat in the front since nobody sits there.
You can't simply switch the buckles over, it needs to be rebuilt. Also, the drivers side one is very different in shape both for the inner plate and outer shell because of the internal electronics(seat belt warning light indicator) - Авто та транспорт
Works for a 90’s Jeep wrangler too! Can’t thank you enough for putting this video out. This is what UA-cam is all about
Wow man seriously thank you very much! As soon as my wife gets home im fixing ours. We have the same problem.
You're welcome! My suggestion is taking the one from the middle rear seat or front middle seat where nobody usually sits. Remember, you'll have to slightly modify the clip to work on the drivers side because of the electronic sensor
Lol am the first... nice video. You planning on doing any engine, muffler or suspension upgrades ?
Yes eventually going to swap the V6 3.8 for a 5.7 V8 or equivalent. Suspension is cheap "Excel-G" and will be changed to Bilstein soon. Muffler has been done, but when the engine is swapped it will have to be completely redone from the exhaust header all the way back. Next upgrade are A pillar gauge cluster.
@@grindsoul great I'll be waiting, brings back alot of memories of the very same car my dad had and I remember me and my family riding in it
How do you put it back together with the sensor? I've got a 89 cherokee and a new spring but the clip won't go into the buckle.
How do i take the female part apart to get the spring
