uncle Drew has the answer to our problem!
he brings out his classic vintage muir hill tractor and drill rig to work on very large earth pile rig construction foundation auger drill - Авто та транспорт
we need more Uncle Drew content, the guys a legend still knocking out a hard days graft at that age
We need more Uncle Drews in this world. Can do man with a great mind.
This guy got fked. If this is a dump they filled it up with concrete friend.
We need more uncle Drew’s . 💪🏼
Very clever - clearly not Uncle Drew’s first rodeo, and proof as to why we must cherish our elders (we should be grateful for the lifetime of mistakes made for our benefit !)
Learning from other people's mistakes is one path to wisdom
Looks like a pretty effective way of getting the concrete out. Plus you get the bonus of a pile of gravel to fill in the puddles 😁
Great shot of the drill breaking through - the lens did not die in vain ⚰
My thoughts exactly.
The part I like is how much fun your uncle has running it. Smiles from ear to ear. The auger company owes your uncle to getting their equipment back. I hope he was able to keep the paycheck.
Amazing that your uncle can still hear anything, standing by that air drill with no hearing protection for decades!!!
Must be really great working with family, being around people you like every day, problem solving with the people you look up to... thanks for sharing, what a gift!
The shame was there wasn’t 3 young blokes learning from him...the knowledge he has can never be replaced . That’s a very early Cummins ....the starter “key” was gold !! The flashing light would be the only thing made in this millennium and yet it all works perfect !!!
Those young blokes are probably at home making Tik Tok videos, unfortunately. Smart phones bring out the dumb in people...
A lot of people watch UA-cam videos in their smart phones, does that make you dumb?@@dc6233
Love it when you have to use old equipment to fix new junk
And off he goes into the sunset, what a great guy your uncle Drew seems to be. Thank you for taking us along for the ride.
That old boy is a diamond. You see him and your Dad together what a font of knowledge. His old rig looks like something out of a Mad Max movie but with him at the controls it works. As for the old Muir Hills. He certainly makes them get up and boogie. Still remember him cutting laps on one at the old track at his place. Very impressive.
I like these old boys, they know a bit, and a bit more they’re not telling !
Bravo Uncle Drew. Old school, Real Mad Max. I really need another video with his participation
Just goes to show, it don't matter how big of a a machine shop you have, sometimes what you need to make the hole is a cobbled together drill rig. Love it.
You'd have thought an Eye phone would have engaged Safety Squint. Cheers
Aye, as it should have. Great comment.
I'm 63 now, but even as a child I loved hanging out with old geezers like your Uncle Drew who were mechanical and electrical geniuses who could take a piece of junk and with a little bit of clever engineering fix it and find find all sorts of useful ways to use it. Bless all our old folks, so many are treasures.
Being out with you lads and working is what is keeping Uncle Drew young! I have never seen family members of a family business as large as yours work so hard! How many family members work in the business? Do you have any brothers there? Did you ever tell the family story with respect to the business?
Hope to at some stage
I would give more thumbs up for Drew and Ken if I could. Thanks for the videos.
That steampunk compressor looks like something from a Dr Seuss book. It's beautiful!
Having that 160 years of experience on your side is priceless and you can never learn enough from them
Actually that was pretty damn impressive coming out the end with that much force, I was not expecting that much air pressure behind the plug!
my god, what an operation uncle drew saves the day love it. I thank everyone needs an uncle drew . what a legend.
Everybody needs an Uncle Drew.
Nothing beats years of experience dread to think what the world is going to do without us oul boys when we are gone no computers will replace us
It looks like those augers were sitting a brave while and the concrete within was well cured. Fair play to your uncle drew, a fit man and well able for a day's work. He's the same age as my dad, he's a hardy leitrim man and is still grafting away refurbishing his house. That exit i his Muir - Hill was epic 😎. Thanks for posting this video, very interesting content. 👍
Solve this problem the same way you solve most really difficult problems. You ask the old guy. He probably knows. Great stuff.
I've drilled a bunch of them out with an 60lb hammer drill and a 10' rock drill. What I've learned was to beat on the freshly drilled augers with a sledge or back hoe bucket to knock free the rest of the concrete. If you don't it will break free in a couple days and plug up the auger.
Respecting the old timers who have forgotten more than I ever knew is lost now. Where I live that job would have been shut down for being unsafe, hazardous debris and noise abatement and probably some endangered species concern. We have turned into a bunch of over regulated, over litigated useless wanks. Love watching work get done by real men
34:08 that man’s late for supper! He’s driving it like he stole it.
Your method works very well, one can also use a Water Jet at 5000psi and above, that works too, however if the cutting head wanders you can cut through the side of the Auger!! the pressure is so high it cuts steel just as easily as concrete.
Thank you (and Uncle Drew) for creating this content. I love the sound of that compressor motor. A video about boring that ain't boring. I subscribed.
God bless Uncle Drew, he is a National treasure!
Worked on a drill rig for a company called rockfall, part of the boskallis group.
We drilled under water at the Panama canal south Pacific entrance.
Drill rig like that hanging off the side of a barge.
Brings back memories seeing this.
I'm only 35 and now a farmer but the experience I picked up over the years helps me problem solve everyday in life.
Great video. Great solution.
as a concrete mixer driver, I deliver to such pile drillers on a regular basis, they indeed have special recipe to make these piles very though. The blue colour indicates a very high cement content. I've never heard of drilling out these drill bits, I'll have a chat with our regular crews on that topic and tell them about this video. uncle Drew is a character, everyone should have one or two of them in their lives.
Uncle Drew saves the day! Hope I'm half as capable when I'm his age!
Uncle Drew is a Legend! kicking ass at 79! that made my day.
Well that was a little different, very entertaining. Surprising how hard that stuff actually was . Gotta say uncle Drew's a rare old guy with a serious amount of knowledge and know how a yup he certainly didn't hang out heading off . Very much an interesting character. Thanks for sharing this one allistair .
Great to have a man with the intrest and the kit to do a job like that, a lot of people would have to dump those
I love seeing all the older equipment being used. Great technique and great video!
Good to have old school stories told by family members. Brings good memories to mind. And let's the younger generations see how things get done.
Good to see the Drew back and saving the day.
A lucky escape lad there. But what a great way to clear out the auger drill. Brilliant and interesting video young man!
Old uncle Drew knows how to use the loud pedal on that tractor! Gotta love that guy!
I'm thinking the world needs more Uncle Drews
Who needs safety glasses, ear defenders, hard hat or hi vis when you have an oem Fred Dibnah cloth cap 😅
Oh boy what a mess! You guys saved the customer a lot of money. Make sure some of those savings go to your drill bit.
Fantastic! The way uncle Drew sped out of the yard was awesome. Pedal to the metal 😆 Its astonishing how quickly he drilled out those augrs.
Some powerful kit and knowledge running with that blood, legends. Love how drew shifted the tractor for the youtube angles🤣
I understand these comments help your cannel a little bit too?
I just want you to know that you are really fortunate to have those legends in your life.
I wish I could show you my legends that are all long gone now.
Thank you for the wonderful content!
If I ever get back over there, I am gonna visit you and Drew :)
Another great video. All awkward jobs are made easy when your working with people with a can do attitude. I think we all hope and wish to have uncle Drew’s energy and drive in out later years.
That was really amazing to watch, watching your uncle drive off made me think he’s a bit of a boy racer, as you mentioned earlier he’s certainly agile for his age, and I also hope that I’m that agile when I get to 80.
Everything about this is beautiful.
I knew hammer drill, but my mind drew a blank after that. Great solution! But the telehandler bushings...
Yar. Especially once the bit starts binding. I ran jacklegs and stoper rock drills in an underground mine. My body was the expendable bushing. If the bit stopped turning one way then the drill went the other. Best not to stand inside the hoses.
Thanks Alister, I just watched this again so cannot add another like for the algorithm. Hopefully a comment will help. Next search within your videos will be for Uncle Drew related content, so great to see him in action.
When i was in Algeria in the late 90s they used to remove concrete in oil drill pipes with high pressure water with abrasive media, but man that set up of yours is ripping it out!
Absolute class act is your Uncle Drew 👌
A genuine legend
I love those funky little loaders up there by the drill rig
Brilliant need to document more of uncle Drew's life story he is a man of knowledge and wisdom. Well done.
Old hands are the best hands love you video keep them coming it's nice to see local people doing video
Alistair...they don't make men like that generation anymore. You and I are the last of a dying breed.. God help us all
Fantastic! Time for an Uncle Drew T-Shirt, the fella rocks 👊🏻
Two shakes of a lambs tail.....as a Canadian of Irish heritage my Gramma//Grampa and Great Grampa used to say that. Thanks for the memory! great videos...
What a grand old boy ❤
Nothing quite like watching an old master at his task 👍
Had me stumped how those could be cleaned - I've a feeling you'll be getting lots more shipped over for a drill through.
Gotta love that old equipment. Just when everyone thought it ready for the scrap heap, Uncle Drew finds a really good use for it!
Seen a water flush one at a shop in Texas next to ours. Where it was one long rack with different size (C) clamps for bolting downward on pipes and those agars. Much easier when there laying down flat. 😎😎👍👍Good job you two for getting it done anyway how you could. P.S. shop also removed harden concrete from cement truck tumblers using explosives. The sound was like being in a mine tunnel every time it went off. 🎆🎆
That guy is my dream come true neighbor!!
Very impressive! Kudos for the whole team for comming up with the solution and the perfect execution!
Excellent approach and a treat to watch.
Damn fine piece of machinery! Genius ideas at work!
Love the compressor great bit of kit 👍🏻
Nice work guys! Y'all take care.
Another quality video. Uncle drew is top class, love the way he left the yard 👍
Very educational. I wouldn't have known how that could be done.
Awesome project there. I enjoyed seeing this process. Thanks another for that.
You have to love uncle Drew, full of the pipe out the gap. Same in the irrigation well video. Class!
Alistair, no school like old school lol.
That's the solution I was thinking of .. small.portable drill/bore rig with a close enough bit on it.
Uncle Drew for the Win!
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
Must have been great growing up with all that old iron around and uncle drew driving his rig up the high St with all his gear towed behind... like a rusty santa bringing joy to the yard..
The old guy just gives her when leaving that was awesome
Quality . Great to see how involved your family are, Bet they could tell some stories.
The wealth of knowledge these gentlemen have! God bless 'em. Let them know how we appreciate them both.
Absolutely superb, long may these gents continue
Fantastic great to see drew and Ken together with story time great video
Keep at it and that driveway will be like new
Two very clever men. Brilliant .
It's so strange, I was watching some drilling the other week at one of the HS2 sites and I wondered how they clean out set concrete from the augers.
Now I know!
Thanks for the interesting upload, proper job!
That was a very interesting look at a side of the construction industry I never see. Thanks for uploading this!
Uncle Drew the best! Great content
Nice work. Superb.
Dang...that old compressor motor runs GOOD!!!! Started up with the juice right good too! Uncle Drew to the RESCUE!!! Sounds like a song in there somewhere - Hahahaha. Don't apologize about the microphones - it's GREAT to see your Dad and Uncle commiserating about things they did together - though I can't hear what they are saying, I CAN SEE what they mean. You are a very fortunate, BLESSED man!! I pray you get many, many more of occasions like this - unforgettable and lovely. AND, just think, you got all that crushed concrete for free!
Loved the video absolutely class. Would love a days work with u and uncle drew. Extremely interesting work
Good to see your dad and uncle... love that content!
Necessity is the mother of invention. And now u have a record of how its done
Nice to see the old minds at work👍👍nothing like thinking out side the box.
Great job, love it
I've watched quite a few of your videos and subbed after this one. Great stuff. Uncle Drew is a maestro with that machine. 👍
Nice work Drew.
Could you use a vibration table, or plasma drilling?
It looks like you could use a water spray to cut down the dust coming out.
The last one partially obstructed looks like a sand blasting tip would be better than a shaft and drill bit.
That Compressor motor sounds so smooth..Great Vid👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Ive never seen drilling done up close in person so this video was very informative for me
