I bought the guitar just because of this review it’s already a great guitar all I’m going to do is switch the pickups for some EMGs and replace the Floyd rose special for an original Floyd Rose
I have now a set of Zakk Wylde EMGs. Awesome :)

I think your issue with the high action in high frets is just a poor truss rod setup. Also they aren’t active pickups they just have pickup covers.
Problem solved, I had a bad fret. The truss rod was good. Yes they are active with battery on the back.

Yeah mine also came with a special I’m going to get it switched
I picked one up and got it during a stupid deal of the day. I may have got lucky but the bridge pickup is hot and I see as acceptable and the Floyd stays in tune perfectly. I don’t beat on it too bad. But it’s working for me just fine.
Distortion sounds harshy, fuzzy and grainy. Not good in my opinion. I am wanderig if sth is wrong in the mix maybe? Or this sound is a nature of this guitar.
It now has EMG Zakk Wylde Pickups and the Katana was without any EQ.
It's all about dialing in the amp or modeler and intonating/tuning the guitar for the individuals players style of play, how hard they push on the strings/fret, where they play chords most of the time to avoid that harsh distortion sound.
Too many players overly crank the gain up, killing the clarity and tone with nasty high end
2mm of action?! Dude are you sure you know how to measure it? It's from the top of the fret not the wood of the board.
Of course I know how to measure. 2mm and 1,5 on the high E string is perfectly normal.
