How I miss Dave's Friday evening stretch at the Voodoo Lounge at State & Kinzie. Watching and listening to Dave Specter and the variety of vocalists he's enlisted has always been a trip. Not only a very talented individual but friendly, with time for a question or two and a little conversation. His brand of blues and jazz goes down easily.
KEYCowboy-- HE is a cross between Jazz, blues and RnB and not too TWANGY..What You think.? Even old Wes montgomery sound.. .I dont like Twang as it does not sound pretty 2 me..I love the Blues like Albert Collins, Johnny Clyde Copeland, Kenny Neal on and on butt 2 much TWANG-trebble hurts my ears..
Yep, Anna, Blues, Jazz, some Soul and even a little Country - though not his favorite - How I Got To Memphis with Tad Robinson is as good of a Country-Soul song as I've heard. Around 2000, writer described Dave as Blues guitarist trying to play Jazz. He's extremely accomplished in all those styles. I also like Albert Collins, one of my favorites is Iceman ua-cam.com/video/ihvvf1R_vWo/v-deo.html I just sent Dave a message on Facebook, told him you are a big fan. Don't know if he will get it and he's probably quite busy. I almost never use Facebook. I hope you have seen Dave and Nick Moss on Songwriter Showcase, 2011, with some super band mates. Awesome music and excellent guitar work from Dave and Nick, uploaded by Louis Glab and DoodleOfMonk. Here's a couple tune links from that concert: You Were Wrong ua-cam.com/video/wzMlZDyGutw/v-deo.html Rumba 'N Tonic ua-cam.com/video/4U3ts1V93OM/v-deo.html
Yes please. This. Yes sir, may I have another. More of this please. Thank you. Is there a way to put this shit into my bloodstream? Oh yeah, forgot to say: This. This please :)

Tone, groove, feeling....Dave's got it all, and should be so much better known.
I just discovered him a couple months ago on UA-cam and I am glad I did 🙂
Your brother on the keys is amazing!
A burnin', all-day groove -Thanks to Dave Specter, the President's own.
I really like Dave s Guitar..So cool, just GOOD very GOOD...
I agree. It's an Epiphone Riviera, though his amplifier choice and settings are important, too.
Think he's been favoring his Jazzmaster, lately (hotter pickups, etc.), but I like this guitar, too. Awesome guitarist, band, sound. A+
