50% less hp is too much. Killing units in WC3 is key as it makes your heros higher level. Let's aim for 75% v 3 so they don't get demolished 😂 or 2v1 at 100%
Aside from that units can trade 1 vs 2 as well (more or less) since while the handicap units have twice the damage the die twice as fast and it's much easier to snipe units :P

Despite having as many carriers as possible, he wiped them all out in seconds. At the end, we all lost, 8vs1, lol. It was a sad day indeed. Gave up my Starcraft career at that very moment.
Had a similar thing in Quake 1. Where me (a middling player) and my friend (who was in a VERY highly ranked clan) met like 10 other players on the semi-open map of E1M...8? The boss map. We were sneakly playing on the school computers vs a bunch of noobs who THOUGHT they could hang. We went something like 18-2 (me) and 50-0 (my friend) 😅
With orc he would have lost to the first push. Only human can fast expand and has the sustain required for a game like that. Orc would also spend way too much gold and time on healing, while human spends very little with brilliance aura and priests. Sure he also bought a lot of items, but that's because his expansion enabled it, which is exactly my point
Yeah this, 3 different attacks going on pre-Archmage 6 would've been almost impossible to deal with. They just had to attack in different spots together and whoever Grubby reacts to needs to back off and try to delay him.
The problem was the noobs didnt coordinate so instead of 1v3 at 50% it was a series of 1v1 @ 50% and of course grubby would win 1v1 no handicap, with 50% they stand no chance 1v1. They either needed to stick together and fight together or poke and harass him at 3 locations at once, or have 1 creep freely and get big while 2 harass together. Instead they just all did whatever and kept fighting him 1v1
@@HonshuHigamoribest probably would have been have 2 just harass all game then run when he shows up to avoid feeding, while 3rd expands and farms freely around the map trying to grow
Ok, I wanna say that having at least one orc player with walkers would've helped some. Maximize what little HP you still have after half handicap, maybe toss in some healing ward, healing wave, and big bad voodoo. Like you said, their damage is full, but their stuff is super fragile.

@@Rastlin. it's 50% hp handicap. You can see how fast that town hall goes down even with just rifleman which is piercing damage and should have a hard time destroying buildings. With no hp handicap, I bet their zero tactic can easily overrun Grubby's three tower hug in the beginning but since it's 50% hp handicap, their huntresses can't get in cause they easily die within a few shots of the tower. Sure their noobs, but without the handicap Grubby's expo would have gone down and it would have been a different story from there. Try playing a game against any player or AI with 50% hp handicap, you would know how hard it is to even creep at the start.
Half health != half damage. Dunno about WC3 but since there are abilities and cooldowns reducing health means capability to destroy without loss. This could mean that Grubby had easier time than playing a normal 100% 100% match up.
Much enjoyed, Thanks!!! Brings back memories of watching Grubby play people like Moon back around 2004 - 05 back in my College days. I'd try to play but wasn't very good myself with poor finger coordination on a Keyboard but aways loves watching Grubby battle!!!
I have no doubt you will win this, but I think the noobs handicap of reduced hp tilts things heavily in your favor as it makes the entire game harder for them and not just fighting you. With their units so squishy you feast on their exp making you hit harder and its even easier for you to get kills. I think if they did 75% damage to you, and normal damage against creeps then it might be a more fair fight.
Way back, had a lan party. Was playing WC3. I noticed that all three of my friends were typing, and I received no messages. So I started building massive defense, and after a while I said "are we going to do this or not?" after a huge battle, none of us had any units left and we agreed on a tie and go eat lunch.
1:33 My prediction: I think you're gonna crush them, cause its' very likelly they won't be coordinated enough to attack at all once or even micro aswell as you. Bad micro for them will be even worse since the damage they take is bigger.
50% was too easy I think because it made creeping so much harder for the nobos. Is there a way to do archon mode like in SC2? (A mode where more than one person controls the same race - so a 1v1 where 3 people play on one side.) This would be fairer to everyone, I think, and a lot of fun to watch. Great idea tho, enjoyed the video!
@@MiravusVideos wc3 is much more about decision making rather than individual micro, you need almost all of your forces to creep effectively, i dont thnik they would get much out of having 3 on same, even 100 players on same with everyone moba'ing one unit, would still lose pretty hard, def need the 3x eco to be fair.

Having 50% handicap is like cheating, you get to farm heavily, snipe expensive units, snowball, early game static defence is OP, etc. Uthermal 1v6 noobs in SC2 and that was very fun to watch + a challenge to him with no handicaps
Sc 2 is a very different game and has totally different gameplay. Sc 2 is almost solely centered around chokepoints and has a very low time to kill anything, so uthermal can kill a base full of workers in 3 sec if he drops 4 mines, this does not work in wc 3 at all.
I think their biggest screw up outside of just lack of pro-skill, was opening up the health pond. That was the most critical moment in the game and they opened up healing for you.
Before watching, I expect Grubby to be ruthless, cunning, and showing absolutely no mercy. One opponent will go down quick, the other two may put up a decent fight, but ultimately the always adjusting, always thinking on his toes, and creative Grub will win out. It just probably won't look pretty.
I believe in you Grubby, you best believe the 1v3 is an even match. Good luck! And he does it! Close calls there when they were testing your defenses. Thanks for the great unique content.
AM was a smart choice here. His biggest handicap is that he's outnumbered, so producing more units to offset that is key. The water elemental does that and is essentially 50% stronger, so it's a pretty big variable to swing the battles in Grubby's favor just a little more. The only thing better would be BM with mirror image. His images would be hitting 50% harder, and would absorb quite a lot of damage in the fights, and could also serve as blockers for precious units that he wants to save. Imagine 3 high level images towards the end game. They alone would be pretty damn strong.
The 50% health reduction for the enemy units and structures, is equal to a double damage output for you. That’s not even remotely fair, even with 3 players.
Smart choice of giving their units 50% HP handicap and full dmg vs 50% dmg handicap and full hp ;) You've made all their units squishier and easier to kill / feed off, while leveling your own heroes on them. Also, they would have a slower start as they can't just easily creep camps with 50% squishier units
Dude wrote a message, while clicking like 500cpm, wtf?? I played this game as a kid TOO MUCH, literally years of fun, even created some maps for it, but never actually tried to get good at it. Seeing this just blows my mind, dude is faster than the in-game AI with his actions per minute, the crazy map jumping or whatever that's called, multitasking like a quad core, I wasn't even able to see when he spawned his units and the next minute he had a whole army. Amazing.
at first i thought this was a voiceover but from the key clicking it seems to be live commentary?? how can he talk this much while clicking 50 buttons per second xDD respect grubby!
I find it even more impressive he's able to comment in real time while playing at such a high level when I consider how eloquent and informative he is, on top of incorporating jokes, sarcasm and wordplay, even though English is not Grub's first language.
Yes you will. With your skill level, and the handicap and a side-effect of the handicap being that your heroes can level up much fast, you can definitely win.
I believe Grubby could 1v2 against randoms from his chat. 1v3? With a handicap? I think Grubby's got this one edit: of course he could. Nooblets could've won this, but were constantly engaging 1v1. They needed to only take fights when 3v1, or 2v1 and the other harassing his base
I think you win this. Yes they could potentially have 3x the dmg of one normal army but since they have half of the HP that kinda doubles your dmg so you also have 2x the dmg of a normal army. So theire advantage is only 1x the dmg of a normal army. And they are new players while you are the Grubb. they won't stand a chance :D
Absolutely based on Actions Per Minute in RTS to keep your defense and offense dps above amassed opposition w/ offensive trades progressively crushing in controlling the board
50% hp reduction on all units and buildings in an XP hero based game like War3 is a bit much; especially with your God tier micro vs random casuals. Was a fun watch though. 🥂
With this handicap you also receive a lot more xp for your heroes, getting easy kills but same xp And for enemies is much harder to level up So there is advantage comes with disadvantage of this 1v3 Still a spectacular game, requires a lot of mastery
As a funny little Nooblet, I truly wonder what race would be the best to pick going into this? Perhaps UD? UD Bases are notoriously difficult to attack, even with a handicap they would probably cost the most to defeat by the numbers. To top it off, since their units all have middling HP, they are far harder to keep alive with bailouts. This means that the strongest armies would be the ones that can either, Maximize Damage or Stay Alive in a straight 3v1 fight. UD Nuke is just as ridiculous as it is normally, and with Rod of Necro skeles are probably a great source of cheap fodder to help creep units. So I would try to focus on getting an expo early using our numbers advantage on the creeps, and then power creep around the map while trying to avoid as much as possible. Until my DK and Lich are strong enough to do actual serious damage w/ Coil Nova, Statues give resto to let me be a nuisance, Zeppelin play is dangerous but prolly necessary. Curse Banshees are also probably quite nice, if fragile, I wonder if the Handicap applies to stolen units, or are stolen ones full power still? (probably does apply honestly) Anti-Magic Shield would definitely help counter Nuke from the Powerful 1 Player Army. Dreadlord Sleep Surrounds early with 3 armies sounds annoying as hell too. Unholy Aura Best Aura. UD seems like the best army to me for this challenge Orc is too committal. Kodo very strong probably for Aura, Sentry Ward very good. Walker also probably good. Bats very strong too. Bloodlust obvs OP. Far Seer Creep -> Shadow, I can't see BM being good though his damage is explosive and WW helps with safety, I'd want a straightofrward strat. Shadow would definitely help by hexing the single players heroes. Double Shadow Operner from opponents could actually get really annoying before priests. HU AM -> MK Opener, they're so orthodox you can't fight fair against the stronger army up front unless you want Knights and that's far away. Prob open Am/ Footies for Creeping with Elementals and to get Brilliance then use MK for Storm Bolt surrounds, Thunder Clap would also probably be very strong. Thunder Clap -> Slow could get really annoying... I think the best way to play HU is to not actually engage with the main enemies army and instead try to belligerently destroy their base w/ cheeky tele/invis strategies. AS for NE, it's scary but I guess Talons are probably best? It's kind of insane how good Rifle Priest is into so many hard CC matcjh-ups cause of Dispel Do priests have enough mana to dispel three armies worth of Mana using Units though? Maybe They have to take as many advantages as they can get and trying to win straight is a hard sell. At least NE has good hero play w/ Moon Wells. DH could be annoying w/ boots but otherwise so committal, Warden is safer cause of Blink... I guess best hero combo is probably Keeper -> Warden Keeper for Summons/Entangle and Warden for Shadow Strike and because Blink can help keep her alive. Tranquility also sounds very useful because it's benefit is actually flat, if you ever get Keeper to 6. Faerie Dragons into a caster army could also be very strong such as mass priest, but rifles obliterate them (thank you phase shift) I am lolling at the concept of 3 Beastmaster Moon Well AoW Archer Rush Opener in main players base though. LMAO gg
Predicting an easy win for the grub just because of how easy it will be to pick things off and snowball. Of course they could all do a timing attack and crush him even if it's bad but I doubt they know that or can coordinate it.
Something you have to do in teams vs. one-on-one/FFA is divide up your damage types. One person goes range, one person goes casters, and the other goes melee or air. Then each of you can focus on climbing up one tech tree while forcing your opponent to have a more balanced army. That's especially true in a 3 vs. 1. The team players can conserve resources not having to worry about upgrades while Grubby has to make sure he can deal with archers, knights, griffons, ballistas, and druids.
I think you will win if you hold the initial rush because if you do so, you will gain a lot of xp, because they are at 50%, but they will be giving you 100% xp :) So you will be able to gain xp and level easy if you hold that first rush.
In my prime about 15 years ago, I would give you a run... haha --- Now I just play customs like LOTR Ring Wars and Zombie Defense. I loved WC2 and WC3.... I miss this type of RTS.
I think they have a chance if they dare to do a early rally, i mean not even Grubby can defend 3 people attack at early without big damage either resource or time, and meanwhile they can supply their army at same time to do a big rally when first rally over or by triple tower rush it should work right? grubby wont have enough resource to fend of from 3 people tower rush
Its a shame that except for that one push, though even during it, they just played like 3 individuals and didn't try to communicate at all to come up with any kind of basic strategy or plan. Just 3 headless chickens. You can argue "its their skill level" and arguably its part of it, but not really. Their micro or build orders weren't the issue here, it was simply lack of any proper communication. Had they played together they would have won pretty easily. Still was interesting to watch though
I believe you shall prevail, for you are the best exotic dancer out there and such tasks are nothing but a speed bump in your journey to the top of the world
They could have won. They just needed to rank up faster or build insane amounts of ranged units. The elf engaged you in battle at the wrong time, and also targeted your stronger hero.
15:08 "Sir! We are surrounded!” “Excellent, now we can fire in every direction"

at first i thought this was a voiceover but from the key clicking it seems to be live commentary?? how can he talk this much while clicking 50 buttons per second xDD
respect grubby!
I find it even more impressive he's able to comment in real time while playing at such a high level when I consider how eloquent and informative he is, on top of incorporating jokes, sarcasm and wordplay, even though English is not Grub's first language.
@0:33 Grubby: Can i win this Human Pesent: Yes me lord
Stop there already deeead
Grubby my man, you've got this so in the bag.
Yes you will. With your skill level, and the handicap and a side-effect of the handicap being that your heroes can level up much fast, you can definitely win.
3v1: "we have you surrounded!"
Grubby: "you poor unlucky bastards"
'cute little newblets' is savage yet endearing lol
3:48 It was at this moment that he knew he had it in the bag 😅
The only time I doubt Grubby is when Grubby doubts Grubby. We win for sure.
I believe Grubby could 1v2 against randoms from his chat. 1v3? With a handicap? I think Grubby's got this one
edit: of course he could. Nooblets could've won this, but were constantly engaging 1v1. They needed to only take fights when 3v1, or 2v1 and the other harassing his base
I'll put my faith in you - this is Sparta!
AoE is crazy strong when enemy has 50%. If there was a way to nerf AoE damage, it would be more fair
You do not simply beat someone who has been playing wc3 for 20 years and just "win" without a similar level of dedication.
Now I wanna see 200% nooblets vs grubby 50%
Definitely - BEAT 3 VS 1 insane comps with that handicap 😂
My before watching guess. 3x dmg let's you deal with units fast enough that your personal skill out matches them an win.
Yep
I vote Grubby can absolutely win this. Cant wait to see!
15:08 Grubby did a Chuck Norris: he surrounded the surrounders
man i havn't played WC3 in ages but i would have been like ... lets go 0 level do 0 crafting and go beat him up right off the bat haha
After watching it, they weren't coordinated enough to stand a chance. Great positioning 👍💪
I once played a 1v1v1v1v2, and we in the team lost without a handicap, so it is absolutely possible
Damn, watching this game just heals my soul. I spent my whole childhood playing this.
I dont think so bro, they could always just rush you or trap you if they coordinate. Itll be fun to watch this
Lekker bezig man, prachtige game!
Absolutely based on Actions Per Minute in RTS to keep your defense and offense dps above amassed opposition w/ offensive trades progressively crushing in controlling the board
So I know nothing about RTS games, I found grubby through HOTS. Little did I know he dominated the scene at its peak! Wow!!
Pun unintended
I think 3 above average players with 50% handicap would probably win here, so it's definitely fair. Nice match, fun to watch
50% hp reduction on all units and buildings in an XP hero based game like War3 is a bit much; especially with your God tier micro vs random casuals. Was a fun watch though. 🥂
Oh damn lol u got em! Nice egg tp. I figured it was over once u got that first guy
I think you win! Will thumbs up if you do 😊
Ending: New you would win 😃
Grubbs can utilize AOE and hero focus to take em down quick, I say he's got this.
With this handicap you also receive a lot more xp for your heroes, getting easy kills but same xp
And for enemies is much harder to level up
So there is advantage comes with disadvantage of this 1v3
Still a spectacular game, requires a lot of mastery
your actually my hero i love this game my childhood
(probably does apply honestly)
Anti-Magic Shield would definitely help counter Nuke from the Powerful 1 Player Army.
Dreadlord Sleep Surrounds early with 3 armies sounds annoying as hell too.
Unholy Aura Best Aura.
UD seems like the best army to me for this challenge
Orc is too committal.
It's kind of insane how good Rifle Priest is into so many hard CC matcjh-ups cause of Dispel
Do priests have enough mana to dispel three armies worth of Mana using Units though? Maybe
They have to take as many advantages as they can get and trying to win straight is a hard sell. At least NE has good hero play w/ Moon Wells.
DH could be annoying w/ boots but otherwise so committal, Warden is safer cause of Blink... I guess best hero combo is probably Keeper -> Warden
Keeper for Summons/Entangle and Warden for Shadow Strike and because Blink can help keep her alive.
Tranquility also sounds very useful because it's benefit is actually flat, if you ever get Keeper to 6.
Faerie Dragons into a caster army could also be very strong such as mass priest, but rifles obliterate them (thank you phase shift)
I am lolling at the concept of 3 Beastmaster Moon Well AoW Archer Rush Opener in main players base though. LMAO
gg
With so low HP you could probably rush them at the begining of the game. :D Very fun to watch tho.
Predicting an easy win for the grub just because of how easy it will be to pick things off and snowball.
Of course they could all do a timing attack and crush him even if it's bad but I doubt they know that or can coordinate it.
I see you still keep the shape! Great job!
If they use all their workers against you before you can even build your buildings you're doomed.
It feels like Grubby used "whoisyourstepdaddy", which hits hard on the opponent, but not as hard as daddy
If all of the players were as good as the human player I don't think grubby would have survive the first push
8:21 that kill shot though
PLEASE more video from you VS 2 OR 3 OR 4 noob player, love your content man
I think you will win if you hold the initial rush because if you do so, you will gain a lot of xp, because they are at 50%, but they will be giving you 100% xp :) So you will be able to gain xp and level easy if you hold that first rush.
In my prime about 15 years ago, I would give you a run... haha --- Now I just play customs like LOTR Ring Wars and Zombie Defense. I loved WC2 and WC3.... I miss this type of RTS.
I think they have a chance if they dare to do a early rally, i mean not even Grubby can defend 3 people attack at early without big damage either resource or time, and meanwhile they can supply their army at same time to do a big rally when first rally over
or by triple tower rush it should work right?
grubby wont have enough resource to fend of from 3 people tower rush
They are so bad. Constantly sending back all units instead of the low life one.
Damn, this was fun!
You the big bro we dreamed of having in the 90's
Its a shame that except for that one push, though even during it, they just played like 3 individuals and didn't try to communicate at all to come up with any kind of basic strategy or plan. Just 3 headless chickens.
You can argue "its their skill level" and arguably its part of it, but not really. Their micro or build orders weren't the issue here, it was simply lack of any proper communication. Had they played together they would have won pretty easily.
Still was interesting to watch though
I'm guessing you're gonna get high level heroes super fast from killing their units so you're probably gonna win
